Added by thomas-robertson, 03 Apr 2022 In each of these four pieces, the first violin plays
the 5 notes of the D major pentaton and the second
violin plays the 7 notes of the Ab major heptaton. That covers all 12 tones without a single accidental! The first two pieces are the self-descriptive "Circle of Fifths" and "Scale Practice." "Homage to Richard Wagner" is based on the Sleep motif in Die Walkure. "Homage to Boudleaux Bryant" is based on the 1958 hit song "All I have to Do is Dream."
