Inspired by the seven O Antiphons traditionally sung immediately preceding Christmas. L’Estrange begins with a refrain that floats over a drone in the lower voices. As the anthem progresses, tight harmonies weave in and out both above and below the drone in a sea of harmony that pleads for the Savior to come. The final chord is a moment of breathtaking beauty.
