The piano parts consists almost entirely of moving sixteenth notes, bordering on a perpetual motion exercise, with patterns that fit the hand well but create striking colors with the surface dissonances and the contrasting chords outlined in the two hands: think "Scenes from Childhood" crossed with "Mikrokosmos." |
