Format : Vocal Score Bach's Christmas Oratorio was composed and compiled for the Christmas season as celebrated in Leipzig in 1734 and early 1735. There are a total of six parts which were intended to be performed on the six major feast days over that 13-day period from December 25 through January 6: the First Day of Christmas Second Day of Christmas Third Day of Christmas Feast of the Circumcision First Sunday of the New Year and the Feast of the Epiphany.
