It is only natural that Universal Edition turns to their excellent pedagogical composer James Rae to kick off their new Concert Band Collection, a new series of works perfect for school bands. I have composed with the aim of providing directors of elementary level bands with original material that will both inspire and challenge their musicians. The pieces are all tuneful and in very accessible musical styles designed to make the band sound at its very best. An optional supportive piano part has been included for those situations where there is not a full compliment of instruments.
