This ancient prayer carries the depth of the ages clothed in sounds of our current times. Jesse Beulke is a relative newcomer whose maturity in composition is evident. The melodic content is engaging and his use of dissonance is compelling. The ending is perhaps the most spellbinding, as one voice part after another closes to a hum that evaporates into silence.
