This work is composed by the very talented Grammy Award-winning composer Michael League composer for many of the works performed by the group Snarky Puppy one of the most exciting entertaining and musically sophisticated groups of young musicians performing today. The group is a collective of nearly 40 musicians consisting of guitars pianos keyboards woodwinds brass percussion and strings. From their most recent album We Like It Here comes this Latin wonder Tio Macaco tastefully arranged by Tom Wallace. An infectious mix of melodies and harmonies co-exist with an unstoppable groove to create just the kind of music that marching bands find irresistible.

Born in Jarrow northeast England in 1949 John Miles was something of a child prodigy learning the piano from the age of five. In the early ’60s he persuaded his father to buy him a guitar and by the end of the decade he had joined a semi-professional band The Influence. The group soon disbanded and by 1969 Miles was recording with his own group The John Miles Band releasing a dozen singles in the early ’70s. In 1975 Miles decided to move to London and secured a deal with Decca Records. By October that year a newly formed band John Miles and Co had released their debut single Highfly but their greatest hit which stormed the British charts in March 1976 was Music.

According to his teachers Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) was not particularly gifted. His special talents were acknowledged only in 1865 when he had been working for the Ministry of Finances for some years. In 1866 he was appointed teacher at the Conservatory and applied himself to composing. His oeuvre is fairly extensive and many of his compositions receive a high ranking on the international list of classical music including his six symphonies solo concertos (violin concerto and piano concertos) ballets (The Nut Cracker Swan Lake) and his overtures (1812 and Romeo and Juliette). In 1893 Tchaikovsky died of Cholera after drinking a glass of infectedwater. His Slavonic March is a popular concert piece for symphonic orchestra that is still frequently performed in concert halls. David Well arranged the theme and created a contemporary march in rock style. Tchaikovsky once said to an unsatisfied teacher: ‘I will be a great composer within 10 years time.’

Ole Olsen (4 July 1850 - 4 November 1927) was a Norwegian organist composer conductor and military musician. Originally written for piano this lovely tender lullaby has been arranged by Tom Brevik for fanfare band and solo quartet.There are three (optional) quartets delivered: 1.
