Small Ensemble Cello,High Voice,Low Voice,Oboe,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.828718 Composed by Leonardo Leo. Arranged by Guido Menestrina. A Cappella. Score and parts. 22 pages. Guido Menestrina #516705. Published by Guido Menestrina (A0.828718).

Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1403054 Composed by Rachel Portman. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 21st Century,Film/TV,Wedding. 77 pages. John Ivor Holland #986254. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1403054). 'Mona Lisa Smile' is a 2003 American drama film directed by Mike Newell and starring Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles, and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The title is a reference to the Mona Lisa, the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, and to the song of the same name, originally performed by Nat King Cole, which was covered by Seal for the movie. Julia Roberts received a record $25 million for her performance, the highest ever earned by an actress at that time. Rachel Portman's score for the film is in a similar vein to her others for 'The Cider House Rules' and 'Chocolat', but the lovely flute theme in this suite works nicely for concert band and the combination of piano and vibraphone (originally harp) lend a pulsating texture throughout. Perfect for a quiet moment in a concert of film music and, of course, important music by a woman composer in a crowded market of male writers. Arranged as part of an ongoing project to bring more music by women into the worldwide concert band repertoire.

The Mona Lisa is famous for her smile and her mystique, as the portrait has become one of the most famous works of art in history. Before this big hit Nat King Cole was better known as a pianist. Until 1947 when he was credited as a solo artist on Nature Boy, he recorded as a member of the King Cole Trio. Mona Lisa helped establish his reputation as a top vocalist of the era, although many Jazz aficionados consider Cole one of the best piano players of the time.

Uriel - for harp or piano
Instrumental Duet Harp,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.971…

Instrumental Duet Harp,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.971641 Composed by Jeffrey Hoover. 20th Century,Contemporary,Spiritual. Score and parts. 14 pages. Musicart Publications #4270425. Published by Musicart Publications (A0.971641). Duration: 5 min. 45 sec. Appropriate for recitals, concert performances, and worship services. In biblical literature, Archangel Uriel is a divine messenger from God, bringing knowledge to the people while serving as a protector of truth. Uriel's providence is set in light, truth, and wisdom. Uriel is a patron of poetry, associated with repentance, and is one of the archangels who stand in the presence of God. In some traditions, Uriel stands at the entrance to the Garden of Eden, with a fiery sword, preventing Man's return to that paradise on Earth. Uriel is the angel who came to Earth and warned Noah of the Great Flood to come. Uriel also spoke to the biblical prophet Ezra on behalf of God, teaching and answering a series of questions Ezra posed to God. Uriel is associated with several literary and artistic works, notably depicted in Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting The Virgin on the Rocks. In this painting, Uriel is shown along with Mary (the mother of Jesus), with Jesus and John the Baptist presented as young toddlers. The composition Uriel makes use of two modal scales to create melodic and harmonic tension and resolution: an altered E Phrygian scale (with a lowered 6th step of the scale) and an altered C Lydian (with a lowered 6th and 7th scale step). The Phrygian scale brings a dark minor quality to the sound, in contrast to the Lydian scale's major yet veiled quality. Set in an unfolding three-part form, the music invokes a blurred and sometimes mystical atmosphere for the listener. Jeffrey Hoover's compositions- music for soloist to symphony orchestra -have received recognition through the prestigious Trieste prize, the international Luigi Russolo competition, awards from Mu Phi Epsilon, the Lancaster Fine Arts Festival, grants, publications fellowships, and more than 20 commissions. He is a member of the ACME roster of Mu Phi Epsilon, recognized for distinguished achievement as a composer. One unique aspect of Hoover’s work is when he combines composition with his paintings, creating synergetic art that intrigues and captivate audiences and performers alike. His paintings are seen in exhibitions and in concerts where his paintings are projected while musicians perform his music. Whether making interdisciplinary works, or traditional stand-alone sonic or visual art, Hoover shapes his work through inner vision and practical experience. Jeffrey Hoover’s background as a performer includes both classical and jazz music, as saxophonist and conductor. His book The Arts and Society: Making New Worlds is published by Kendall Hunt Publishing. Hoover was born on September 11, 1959, in Anderson, Indiana. He holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts (Composition and Interdisciplinary Fine Arts) from Texas Tech University, as well as a M.M. and Bch.Sc. from Ball State University. His career in higher education has included both faculty and arts administration appointments.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1291367 Composed by Dr. John Bull. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Christian,Historic,Religious,Renaissance. 26 pages. Jmsgu3 #882018. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1291367). John Bull was an English composer, organist, virginalist, and organ builder who lived from 1562/63 to 1628. He was educated as a chorister of the Chapel Royal in London and later became a Doctor of Music at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Bull was one of the most famous composers of keyboard music of the early 17th century, and most of his compositions were written for the virginal, a keyboard instrument popular in the Renaissance period. He was known for his outstanding technical ability and keyboard virtuosity, and his music is distinguished by unfailing resourcefulness in devising new musical ideas. Bull's reputation rests on his extensive compositions for virginals and organ, some 150 extant pieces published in Musica Britannica. He was also one of the contributors to Parthenia, a collection of keyboard music published in 1611. Bull wrote an anthem, God the Father, God the Son, for the 1613 wedding of the princess and the Elector Palatine, in addition to his keyboard compositions, verse anthems, canons, and other works. Bull's music ranked among the foremost composers along with Byrd, Gibbons, and Tomkins. The significance of John Bull's Salvator Mundi lies in its historical and cultural importance as a musical composition. John Bull was a prominent English composer, and his work Salvator Mundi is part of the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, a collection of keyboard music from the late Elizabethan and early Jacobean periods. Bull's music is highly regarded, placing him among the foremost composers of his time, along with Byrd, Gibbons, and Tomkins. The term Salvator Mundi also appears in a papal bull issued by Boniface VIII in the 14th century, which was a definitive statement of the late medieval theory of hierocracy, emphasizing the pope's supremacy. Salvator Mundi is also known as the title of a famous painting attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, which has been the subject of extensive investigation regarding its materials and techniques. Therefore, Salvator Mundi holds significance in music, history, and art.
