Added by alastair-lewis, 24 Jun 2011 "Home on the Range" is a song based on a poem by Dr. Brewster M. Higley (1823–1911) who was from Smith County, Kansas. The poem, written in the early 1870s was originally called "My Western Home". It is the state song of Kansas today. Higley's friend Daniel E. Kelley (1845–1905) wrote the music. The song spread across the United States as settlers and cowboys adopted it. This is a free sheet music for solo clarinet. This woodwind instrument has a single-reed mouthpiece, a straight cylindrical tube and a flaring bell. A person who plays the instrument is known as a clarinetist or clarinettist. The clarinet family is made up of many different instruments of differing sizes and pitches. The unmodified word "clarinet" usually refers to the Bb clarinet, which is the most common clarinet. |
