I developed this series of 18 Preludes for one hand alone as a compositional and pianistical challenge. But I had also pianists in mind that only have one hand or one arm, due to a handicap or accident. C'est une bonne idée cette série pour une seule main, non seulement pour ceux qui ont deux mains, mais pour ceux qui n'en n'ont qu'une, plus encore.

Et pour ceux qui en ont deux, cela oblige à développer une expression différente.
