In music, a suite is defined as an ordered set of
orchestral or instrumental pieces, more often than not
performed in a concert setting rather than as an
accompaniment. Some examples of suites are :
1. Extracts from a ballet (Nutcracker suite) 2. Incidental music to a play (L'Arlésienne Suites), opera, film (Lieutenant Kije Suite) or video game (Motoaki Takenouchi's 1994 suite to the Shining series), or entirely original movements (Holberg Suite, The Planets). The suit...(+) |
