Added by bhannavichaya-vadhanasiriphongs, 08 Feb 2014 The second Sinfonietta by the composer’s mentioning the situation around 250-300 years ago in Asia, between King TakSin of Siam (present Thailand) and Chinese Qing Emperor QianLong. In the piece, is talking about King of Siam, a small nation in South East Asia is offering a tribute to Emperor QianLong of China, a greater nation through his ambassador. Sinfonietta No.2 is specially written for 2nd Seattle Symphony Celebrate Asia Composition Competition in 2013. The piece was written in Sonata form, composed of 2 main themes, each theme are symbolized, selected, and adapted from each nation’s classical folk music, presenting each other’s character. At the end of the program note, the composer hope the work will be suited to the title of the competition, which seeking for Asian story.
