Ajoutée par magataganm, 31 Déc 2012 Henry Purcell (1659 - 1695), was an English composer. Although incorporating Italian and French stylistic elements into his compositions, Purcell's legacy was a uniquely English form of Baroque music. He is generally considered to be one of the greatest English composers; no other native-born English composer approached his fame until Edward Elgar. Abdelazer (also spelled "Abdelazar") or The Moor's Revenge is a 1676 play by Aphra Behn, an adaptation of the c.1600 tragedy Lust's Dominion. Purcell wrote this as incidental music for a revival in the Summer of 1695, with 10 movements including this Rondeau (No. 2). Although this piece was originally written String Orchestra, I arranged it for Woodwind Quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, French Horn & Bassoon). Partition centrale : | Abdelazer (14 partitions) | |
