Added by lrubarth, 15 Dec 2021 This melancholic but powerful and profound piece by the Spanish romantic composer Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909) is said to be his very last composition. He wrote it on the 30th of November 1909 and finished it on the 2nd of December. Only two weeks later, on the 15th of December 1909, Tárrega died in Barcelona (Spain) at the age of 57. A few years earlier, he had been afflicted with paralysis on his right side, and though he never completely recovered, he would keep on composing and eventually return to performing. The translation of the title “Oremus” means “Let us pray”. You'll also find two different versions for unaccompanied charango (standard tuning and drop-D tuning). |
