Added by thomas-robertson, 07 Sep 2024 As a music student, did you practice diligently as an individual, but panic the first time you had to play in an ensemble? As a teacher, do you have trouble getting your students to play in an ensemble? This should help you. Folk songs are arranged in: --handbell fashion (each player playing one note) --call-and-response fashion --Paul Rolland method (one player on melody, other player on chord roots) --tabletop duets (or "crab canons," as Bach called it) --ostinato (or "vamp," as they call it in popular music) --canons (unless you prefer the word "rounds") --quodlibet (or "partner songs," as they call it in the music classroom) |
