Thisis an essential collection of twenty-two favourite Easter hymns arranged forclarinet choir or for virtually any combination or number of clarinets. The publicationconsists of full scores for each hymn plus parts for 1st clarinet inB flat, 2nd clarinet in B flat, 3rd clarinet in B flatand bass clarinet in B flat. The 1st clarinet and 3rdclarinets have duplicate parts for E flat clarinet and E flat alto clarinetrespectively. You could of course include alto and tenor saxophones if necessary. There?s a piano part too, so you can also use the arrangements assolos, duets or trios. All the parts are contained in a single 100-page PDFfile. They are intended either as stand-alone pieces that could be used asinterludes in an Easter service, or they could be used to accompany solo,choral or congregational singing. The music has been set in clarinet-friendlykeys and they are compatible with the brass collection of the same name. Thepiano part has been written for with the early intermediate pianist in mind,though some hymns are actually quite easy.

This arrangement is a beautiful rendition of the Zimmer/Rubin/Gibson original. Material is treated true to the original, emulating the lyrical nature and forward thrust of the piece. perfectly suited to a Clarinet Choir. The main melodic and harmonic themes are seamlessly shared by each of the instruments, melodic runs interweave and dovetail amongst the main theme. The arrangement and voicing captures the variety of tones that a Clarinet Choir can produce, capturing that fantastic Organ sound from the original movie score. Mozart wrote this Serenade for wind ensemble. Adagio is the 3rd movement, which features the oboe, clarinet, and basset horn as alternating soloists throughout the movement.

The beginning of this movement was played in the movie, Amadeus, which is where I heard it for the first time. After years of having this on my "to arrange" list, I can finally tick it off.

This arrangement for clarinet choir has the melody parts in Clarinets 1, 2 and 3. These can be played as solos, or not. The contrabass part is optional.

"Mansions" was originally written for the 2002 film, We Were Soldiers. This is a grade 4 arrangement suitable for a high school or university clarinet choir. There is a 4th clarinet part that takes the place of the alto clarinet. It features a solo in the beginning by the first clarinet. I wrote this arrangement to be played at a Veteran's Day Memorial Performance.

The song Africawas written and recorded by the American rock band Toto, appearing on theiralbum entitled Toto IV. Their music video depicts the band in a library,performing and showcasing various aspects of African culture. According to songwriterDavid Paich, the song is about a man?s love for the continent of Africa.

Thisarrangement for clarinet choir includes parts for E-flat clarinet, B-flatclarinets 1, 2, and 3, E-flat alto clarinet, bass clarinet, and contrabassclarinet. Alternate B-flat parts also exist for both E-flat and alto clarinet. Asthe rhythms appear to be tricky at first glance, listening to the original songand learning the lyrics should make playing the piece much easier.

The Fiddler on the Roof has a great opening number. This arrangement is for clarinet choir - Eb, 3 Bb, alto, bass, and contrabass. All parts except the bass and contrabass have some areas with 2 part divisi.

The melody gets passed around with all parts except the contrabass.

Gustav Holst - Folksongs of Hampshire England . In the early 1900's there was great interest in collecting and preserving the folk songs of England, Scotland, and Ireland. Equipped with their newly invented recording devices, people such as Cecil Sharp, Charles Stanford, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Gustav Holst would travel into the country-side to record, or notate songs being sung. They would frequently use these songs in their own compositions. Holst's music in particular is filled with those songs and his two suites for band are especially valued by wind bands around the world. This group of four songs was arranged for voice and piano by Holst and set for clarinet choir by John Gibson. The songs are 1. Young Edwin in the Lowlands Low 2. Bedlam City 3. The Irish Girl 4. Young Reilly. The instrumentation is: Eb Soprano Clarinet, Bb Soprano Clarinet 1 - 3, Alto Clarinet (with an alternate 4th Bb part), Bass Clarinet, Contra Bass or Contralto. Although an alternate for alto is provided, the alto is preferred.

This setting of George Bernard's Classic Hymn, "Old Rugged Cross," for Clarinet quartet/choir takes a completely new approach harmonically in this arrangement. While the famous melody in the 1st clarinet has a few added embellishments, the rest of the ensemble joins with tighter jazz-influenced harmony.

A reflective approach to this piece of music would be extremely rewarding in a worship setting when used either as an offertory or as a lead-in to a music set. While none of the individual parts are particularly challenging, it will still be an exercise in balanced small ensemble playing.

One of the most recognized and performed Christmas songs is Greensleeves. This arrangement for clarinet choir is taken from Chip Davis' arrangement for the group that he founded called Mannheim Steamroller. As with almost all of my arrangements, there are differences in this piece that I adapted to my liking, but the overall feel is intact.

Scored for 3 Bb, alto, bass, and contrabass clarinets. There is an optional Eb part that can be played in addition to or in lieu of the 1st Bb part.

This is a timeless piece that I hope you and your audience will love.
