Cherry Classics Music #4806577. Published by Cherry Classics Music (A0.707841). Beethoven's Romance No. 2 Opus 50 has been a staple of Violinists for over 210 years, having been written in 1798. The C major Romance is a tender, adagio cantabile movement full of beauty, requiring grace, poise and elegance to perform properly. It has been said that it could have been titled Song Without Words, the music being so lyrical of character. 'Romance' may have been written as a slow movement to a Violin Concerto that was never completed. This arrangement by Gordon Cherry is a wonderful addition to the Tuba & Bass Trombone repertoire. Almost 10 minutes in length, this work for advanced performers will be a great addition to any recital.

Scherzo for Tuba and Piano  ‘Tembo’ The bass instruments are sometimes overlooked when it comes to solo repertoire so ‘Tembo’ is a fun piece designed to feature the bass tuba.Tembo is an African word for elephant and this piece was inspired by the famous bass solo ‘The Elephant’ from Saint-Saëns’ ‘Carnival of the Animals’ This arrangement for tuba and piano allows the tuba to shine over the whole range of the instrument in a playful way as indicated by the term Scherzo. Parts included in the download: Tuba soloist (bass clef)Bass Eb soloist (treble clef)Piano accompaniment(Also available in Brass Quintet version)

Sérénade is an early work of Rachmaninoff, from a grouping of five short solo Piano pieces titled Morceau de Fantasie written in 1892 and dedicated to his harmony teacher Anton Arensky. One of his most famous works, the Prélude in C-sharp minor is from this same Opus 3. Opus 3, No. 5 (original key in B-flat minor) is the final work of the set and is in a gentle Waltz style, sometimes venturing into the Dorian mode.Rachmaninoff's lush harmonies and gorgeous melody work very well for the Tuba or Bass Trombone with this fine arrangement set in C minor by Ralph Sauer.For advanced performers, this movement is about 5 minutes in length.A perfect companion to the Rachmaninoff - Fantasy Piece, Op. 3, No. 3, also available from Cherry Classics.

Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792364). Amy Beach's Eskimos, Opus 64 composed in 1907 was written originally for Piano solo and is set in four descriptive vignettes: 1. Arctic Night 2. The Returning Hunter 3. Exiles 4. With Dog-Teams Beach used melodies from eleven Inuit songs she discovered from an early recording and set them to European harmonies. Mr. Sauer's arrangement of this unique music is playable by moderately advanced performers. The four movements total about 10 minutes of music in length.
