Credited to Lennon–McCartney, the song was written solely by Paul McCartney about his Old English Sheepdog, Martha. It has been covered by several artists, including Slade, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, Phish, World Party, and Les Boréades de Montréal.The song incorporates elements from pop rock music; it also features a music hall-inspired piano line that recurs throughout the piece, as well as a brass section. The song modulates through several keys The song is notated mainly in the key of E♠major, showing up embellished chords with jazzy sprinkled dissonances.The verse is a syncopated replicate of the first melodic section adding two extra beats, a technique similar to that used later by McCartney in Two of Us. Though the bridge is in the key of F major, the manner in which it abruptly sets in and exits makes it sound more out-of-the-way than it really is.

Arranged standard brass quintet Mozart's textual inspiration is apparent in the Tuba mirum (Hark, the trumpet) movement, which is introduced with a sequence of three notes in arpeggio, played in B♠major by a solo tenor trombone, unaccompanied, in accordance with the usual German translation of the Latin tuba, Posaune (trombone). Two measures later, the bass soloist enters, imitating the same theme. At m. 7, there is a fermata, the only point in all the work at which a solo cadence occurs. The final quarter notes of the bass soloist herald the arrival of the tenor, followed by the alto and soprano in dramatic fashion. On the text Cum vix justus sit securus (When only barely may the just one be secure), there is a switch to a homophonic segment sung by the quartet at the same time, articulating, without accompaniment, the cum and vix on the strong (1st and 3rd), then on the weak (2nd and 4th) beats, with the violins and continuo responding each time; this interruption (which one may interpret as the interruption preceding the Last Judgment) is heard sotto voce, forte and then piano to bring the movement finally into a crescendo into a perfect cadence. My arrangement gives the trombone part to the horn, and the vocal entries are given to the trombone, horn and two trumpets. . Section III of the requiem is titled “Sequenz†(sequentia or sequence). It is made up of the following pieces I have arrangements of all of them, for varying types of ensemble * Dies irae * Tuba mirum * Rex tremendae * Recordare * Confutatis * Lacrymosa. I have also arranged Mozarts Motet “Ave Verum Corpus†K618.

It isn't i compound or triple metre for a start and the melodiy, which is treated in a very contrapuntal style is very angular and ungainly. This arrangement for brass quintet, is based on a tune that is often used for the lyrics, written by the German composer, Conrad Kocher, in 1836. The melody was modified by William Chatterton Dix in 1859, for a hymn titled As With Gladness Men Of Old, hence the tune is often identified in hymnals as DIX. Though there are several other hymn tunes that can be used with the text, this arrangement also uses a modern setting by Donnalynn Grunewald (2013) in triple meter. Folliott S. Pierpoint was an English teacher and poet. The words to For the Beauty of the Earth were written in 1864. The marriage of the text with the melody by Kocher/Dix is credited to an English organist, William H. Monk in 1861. The popularity of the hymn is due partly to the aptness of the text to Thanksgiving celebrations, thus assuring in annual performance. Not only do the words express thanks for the world in which we live, but it also includes thanks for family and friends, brother, sister, parent, child. Friends on earth and friends above. Also worthy of note is the universality of the sentiment, expressed in a way that can be embraced by people of any religion. The arranger, Bob Coil, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of music, where he studied bass trombone with Betty Glover. Dr. Coil is the leader of the Bones of Cincinnatus trombone ensemble and the Polished Brass quintet in Cincinnati, OH. This arrangement is available for trombone quintet and brass quintet.
