Into Love's Light is for full orchestra, and begins gently, but grows as it proceeds. It has a climax near the end that has made it very popular with the Williamson County Symphony Orchestra for whom it was written. Audiences have commented that it brings chill bumps or tears. Time of performance is 4:50. It is fairly easy to play, and was selected by two junior all-region orchestras in Texas. However, to obtain the best results, a mature orchestra is recommended in order to pull off the big climax near the end.

It has very unusual voicing; the music is not based on any chord progression, but rather on independent, interweaving melodic themes. The violas have the melody for a while. And, a couple of times the second violin part is above the soprano part. It is a very contemplative presentation of the carol.This piece is loosely classified as an Advanced Intermediate skill level. The notes aren’t difficult, and it’s relatively slow, but the intervals may be a bit tricky to play in tune.

Ebb and Flow harks back to the composer’s years at the City University of New York. The work was completed in 1990 and revised in 2022 for this video score. A colorful and dramatic work, Ebb and Flow is based on two main themes: the first of which is heard at the very onset in the lower strings, and later, a more subdued and lyrical theme is presented. Transitions between these sections are fluid and contain moments of tension and resolution, highlighting the contrasts and interplay between the two states. Ultimately, Ebb and Flow as a musical composition aims to evoke a sense of movement, contemplation, and emotional resonance, capturing the essence of the natural ebb and flow phenomenon through the music. However, on this particular leg of a flight, I happened to spend a portion of the trip staring out the window (which is unusual for me as I am prone to bouts of vertigo for which I have series of techniques to stave it off) admiring the beautiful scenery unfolding in front of me. The opportunity to set this scene to music became a reality when Jim McAllister, director of bands at Lincoln Memorial University and one of my best friends in the world, approached me about a commission. I wrote him an expansive hypermetric piece (over 400 measures in one movement) that reflects my thoughts, feelings, and impressions as I admired the view from sky.Flying was commissioned by and is gratefully dedicated to the Lincoln Memorial University Band and its world class conductor, James McAllister.

Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, Jeffrey Wright, Léa Seydoux, and Christoph Waltz reprise their roles from previous films, with Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, and Ana de Armas joining the cast. The theme song is sung by the American singer Billie Eilish. In January 2019, Eilish told her management that she wanted to be involved if any Bond things come up…whatever we have to do we will do. When the opportunity did arise, the pair jumped into action to book a recording studio, but it left them intensely uninspired and suffering from writer's block. Following this lacklustre day in the studio and they ended up writing and recording the song in a tour bus in Texas, after Finneas came up with an initial chord progression; in just three days the song was written and recorded. Prior to this, the siblings had a meeting with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, who sent them the script for the opening scene in order to give them a bit of inspiration, which Eilish said was so cool and really, really helpful.Finneas claimed it was useful to go back to listen to previous Bond themes to ensure they were on the right track and did not copy or recreate something which had already been done before, adding that there are few things in your career that are as desirable as doing a Bond song. We did not take the opportunity lightly and worked as hard as we could to prove ourselves. I keep updated on all things astronomical. Though I likely won't live to see it, I greatly look forward to mankind's inevitable exploration of deep space and other galaxies. An aphelion is defined as the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is furthest from the sun. This phenomenon was the inspiration for this concert piece for two horns and string orchestra (or piano). The work begins starkly, with just the horns playing by themselves before a single string drone enters. This is the light of the sun a long ways away. The piece then takes us on a few adventures as it begins its revolution around the sun. The piece ends warmly as we arrive at perihelion (the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is closest to the sun). Aphelion for two horns and string orchestra was commissioned by and is gratefully dedicated to the Chech American Horn Duo (Steven Gross and Jiri Havlik) and the Symphony of the Vines, Greg Magie, conductor, who premiered the piece in January of 2018.

Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBW209-S). 9 x 12 in inches.In the fall of 2013, I was approached by Tyler Goodrich White of the Lincoln Symphony who had heard of my interest in composing a holiday piece featuring the surrounding area's Suzuki students, and he gave me the green light with just a couple of stipulations: one, it had to feature the tunes from the Suzuki book, and also needed to be presented in the same order and in the same keys; and two, it needed to be interesting for the audience and the orchestra.The piece began with those sketches of Suzuki tunes. Interspersed were my original orchestral interludes, what I intended to be a combination of beautiful, dramatic, and playful, with hints of recognizable Christmas tunes woven into the background. Festive Expressions was the resulting composition, which can be performed with or without Suzuki Soloists. It was premiered by Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra on December 7, 2013 with Tyler Goodrich White conducting over 100 Suzuki Soloists on stage.The Wind Ensemble arrangement, Satana Autumn, was created for Fred J. Allen and the Stephen F. Austin State University Wind Ensemble; it was intended as a gift in response to a wonderful piece he wrote for me when I was a public school teacher.
