Carl Orff's masterpiece composed in 1936 undoubtedly is one of the best-known musical creations throughout the world. By popular request, we now publish a comprehensive choral score uniting all choral parts in one volume of excellent quality and print. This choral score complements the hitherto available choral parts (ED 4920-01 and -02) presenting female and male voices in separate editions, as well as the piano score ED 2877. The new choral score makes rehearsing and studying this extraordinary work much easier for every singer and music lover.

Fauré composed his Requiem in D minor Op 48, between 1887 and 1890. The choral-orchestral setting of the shortened Catholic Mass for the Dead in Latin is the best-known of his large works. In the Pie Jesu, the solo soprano (or treble) sings the prayer to the "good Jesus" for everlasting rest. The one line of text is repeated three times, the first two times asking for "requiem" (rest), then intensified for "sempiternam requiem" (everlasting rest). The first call is a modal melody in B-flat majorof six measures, the second call is similar but reaching up higher.

Jazz Ensemble. Latin and Swing, multi-meter. The Dizzy Gillespie classic features Trombone 1 playing the melody as a half-time ballad against Latin style rhythm accompaniment. After an optionally open solo section (in swing tempo), an ensemble soli (without rhythm section) leads to a jazz waltz by the lower voices. The final section features Alto Sax 1, Flugelhorn and Trombone 1 in an up-tempo recap of the melody. See Conductor score for an overview.
