The composition premiered for the Summer Season of the Sicilian Symphonic Orchestra Foundation on 5, 6 and 7 July 2019, takes inspiration from typical American sounds similar to the Marching Band albeit with a totally new organic, in fact in addition to the 4 solo percussionists, of which one drummer, part of the orchestral ensemble of wind only: 1 piccolo, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 1 English horn, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 3 trombones and 1 bass tuba. From a formal point of view it is composed of 5 musical paintings in a single time, it is in fact an imaginary journey that takes the four solo percussionists through the 5 districts of New York: Queens, Staten Island, the Bronx, Brookyn up to the center. of Manhattan, Times Square precisely.

Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra The first and third movements are lively, the second is reflective. There are several solo passages for other players. This was first performed by professional musicians including John Thomas, trumpet soloist, at a composers' workshop at Bard College on August 1, 2003. The orchestra was tiny, with only one player per string part, one each of flute, oboe/English horn, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trombone, and two percussionists and very little rehearsing was possible. The audio clip is of that performance, 3rd movement. Please listen to the other movements at my website, www.garyfriedmanmusic.net. Provided here are the complete orchestra score, a piano reduction of the orchestra, and the solo trumpet parts for both B flat and E flat trumpet. Each has been preferred by some soloists. A complete set of parts is available separately for $20. Also available separately for $20 is an arrangement for brass septet with the 2 trumpet players sharing the solo part. Included with the septet is an arrangement of the 3rd movement for brass dectet. Duration: about 15 minutes Year: 2003.

It portrays the 4 main scenes in the life of Elijah (from the Bible): by a brook (Isolation), in a village (Interdependence), on a mountain (Crisis), and in a cave (Disappointment and Hope). These 4 conditions are relevant to the life of everyone. This piece requires 3-4 percussionists, depending on their proficiency. It was performed by a community orchestra that I am in; so if you need an instrumental substitute based on your ensemble (e.g. bassoon instead of bass clarinet), please email me and I will try to create that part for you. Its duration is 4:33, and it is at an intermediate level. .

Each verse and chorus is slightly different, like a series of variations.This arrangement was originally created for the Kansas City Symphony's Symphony in the Flint Hills event in 2022, an annual outdoor concert which traditionally ends with a crowd singing along to this, the state song of Kansas. The key is a friendly E flat, and the text is provided on the second page of the score. Percussão e Bateria, onde se podem tocar juntos, ou separados. As levadas são apenas uma noção do que se pode fazer, é apenas um guia, o arranjo de cada música é único e sempre tem que ser criativo. Na última página encontra-se a legenda da notação musical para cada instrumento de percussão, respeitando sua caracterÃstica sonora. Há várias opções de organização e possibilidades.
