In order to realise this idea, Gottwald focussed on pieces from Wagner, Mahler via Ravel, Debussy to Messiaen and Holliger. It is versatile and catchy, and has been performed by our Vocal Bands as well as our larger ensembles. This arrangement has the drive and momentum of the original song but with delicate moments, and some 5-part harmony as the song progresses. VOCAL LAYOUT:The melody, or lead line, is divided amongst the vocal parts to give variety. The B.G (background) parts replicate the instrumental accompaniment of the original track, filling out the arrangement and creating the contemporary texture that is at the heart of Pop A Cappella. When it's performed, it should be heavy on the rhythm and bass! The Rhythm (Beatbox) and Bass should be a feature, and they provide the arrangement with the groove and vibe it needs.The dynamics give an indication which vocal parts should be strongest at any given moment, but changes may need to be made depending on the number / balance of singers, and the strengths of each vocal section. As a general rule, the melody or lead should be strongest, followed by any harmony parts (those with lyrics), followed by any background parts (Oos / Ahs / Dms, etc).The full arrangement is scored for SSAB and Vocal Percussion (beatboxing). The song also works as SATB and could be transposed into lower key to help with some of the higher passages.RHYTHM and BASS:This Beatboxing part is suitable for moderate to advanced performers, and is scored used drum notation. Latin.For his choral piece Cum enim quietum silentium contineret omnia, ..., the composer, choir director and organist Janusz Krzysztof Korczak, born in Cracow in 1994, was awarded the 3rd prize at the International Composition Competition 'Musica Sacra Nova' 2016. This demanding Latin choral work is written for four four-part a cappella ensembles (SATB/SATB/SATB/SATB), including a plan of the ensembles' precise positions provided by the Polish composer. In this church music work which is divided into several thematic sections for which Korczak has a maximum of four singers for each part in each ensemble in mind, he has tried, by his own account, to set to music 'a kind of programmatic visualization' of the words borrowed from the Liber Sapientiae 18, 14-15b. As a consequence, performance instructions like soft or sharp whispering, singing with open and closed mouth, parts to be recited 'ad libitum', a general rest with explicit indication of seconds, strong dynamic accents as well as an abruptly descending glissando at the end are among the striking features of this 16-part a cappella choral work. The song itself was written as a prayer, but is suitable for both church and school groups to sing. This would work well for any standard school concert, or special church service. The arrangement itself does not deviate too much from the original harmonic structure of the piece, and as such, acts as an opportunity for intermediate singers to explore a cappella music through an accessible arrangement. There are a couple of challenging sections which will stretch the singers and introduce them to slightly more advanced close-harmony singing techniques.Although written for SSAAB, the second alto line can be sung by tenors with a good falsetto (as necessary). Beatboxing is optional, but is worth considering for use in this arrangement.

German.He was regarded as the German hope among the composers of his generation and as 'next man of New Music', but his early death quashed all such hopes of the music scene: Rudi Stephan died at the early age of 28, leaving behind instrumental works as well as some songs in which he admitted expressionist concepts of art, as were later expressed mainly by the Viennese School. Clytus Gottwald has taken up the cause of transcribing two of the songs by this composer, who died in the First World War, for nine-part mixed a cappella choir (SSAATTBBB) with solo bass in his honour. In spite of the Latin title, Memento vivere is a German-language secular song based on a text by Friedrich Hebbel which is permeated by harmonies sharpened with dissonances. The music of Kythere to words by Gerda von Robertus is characterized by the excessive use of harmonic shifts in the style of Debussy.
