The piece is thou very simple and easy to perform. It is appropriate for the harp and it sounds great on any kind of harp. When using a little lap harp, one can easily transpose the bass voice an octave higher. It is a flexible piece, you can play it slower or a little faster and even the arpeggio in the end that becomes quite easy after some practice could be replaced by a simple glissando. You should feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills, Your taste and Your Soul. It is a piece that can be used in many different kinds of situations, from the serious concert hall to a funeral, in Easter or even Christmas celebrations and all other kinds of Spiritual events or even joyful social meetings. When performed Live It will give you back a great feedback from the public, you will always want to have it in your repertoire. Luis Anjos Teixeira „Now comes the Little Story The Volcano`s Lake was composed on a volcano called Pico that stands out about 2000 meters above see level right in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. From the bottom of the ocean to its pick it is higher than mount Everest. I like to know that there are an enormous amount of different species of whales that live in this area and many others that go there strictly for romance. I went there to perform with the harp but was at the same time deeply morning the death of my Dear Cat Mary Jane that tragically passed away the day before the flight. In this isle I was having at night strange dreams of epic battles and fights between flying Angels and Demons. In one of these dreams „Time and Matter were a byproduct of „Music itself. The wind was blowing, the volcano was dancing and the water on the lake was whispering enchanting melodies. As soon as I woke up I wrote some notes before they vanished away, just a fragment of an idea of what I was listening in the dream. I named it „The Volcano`s Lake, because the „Lake was comforting me with its melodies, I realized that my tears were also becoming the lake itself and in this lake I was becoming one with Mary Jane and all the rest of the Universe. Wonderful tunes that came out of nineteenth century America. Many of the pieces are well known, but received a fresh setting that would be playable on the harp. A few tunes are less well known, or even obscure, but were chosen for their artful melodies. The arrangements translate well on the piano as well as the harp, and Mr. Sullivan also includes guitar chords and lyrics. You'll revive the "Parlor Tradition" of days gone by and make these old tunes live again is part of your own musical tradition. There is a brief historical paragraph on each tune. One interesting piece is the "Persian Princess Waltz." It is from a 1901 method book for the reed organ. This method book was discovered in Mr. Sullivan's garage and was autographed by the author, Mattie Pirtle.

This arrangement of Captain Picard's Air from the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode The Inner Light is fitted specifically to the range of a 26-string lever harp, like Harpsicle Harps or Dusty String Ravenna. While there are some complex rhythms and silences to count through, the notation itself is relatively simple -- intended to reflect the sparse, lonely/hopeful nature of the original song, which was played on a solo pennywhistle.It is written in the key of G Major (one sharp), which means it can be played on Harpsicle models that are not fully levered (e.g. Sharpsicles, as well as Fullsicles), and there are no lever changes or accidentals. If the harmonics are omitted, and the dotted rhythms counted carefully, this piece could be accessible to a late-beginner, at least from a technique standpoint. Beginner harpists who have little or no prior background in reading sheet music might struggle with the leger lines, though.Please note that the preview cuts off after the first half-page of score. To be a creative and versatile pop harpist, classic training is valuable and necessary. However, the habit of playing every note as written is sometimes hard to break when learning to improvise. The act of playing notes spontaneously may be overwhelming to the classically trained harpist. There are more and more written arrangements for popular music available to buy, but is satisfying to have the skills to arrange one's own pieces. It is possible to play popular music from a fake book or by ear, with training. The suggestions in this book should help bridge the gap from classical to pop, and hopefully provide some tools for the improvisation necessary for playing popular music. These ideas come from Louise's own experience, and from workshops with nationally knows pop and jazz harpists. It is hoped that the material presented will open up new avenues for the harpist to arrange and improvise in order to widen opportunities to perform.With simple melodies and uncomplicated harmonies, this book also instructs the harpist on the basics of achieving that country-western sound, as well as techniques on imitating such traditional country western instruments as guitar, banjo, fiddle, string bass, and piano. Your group will really enjoy this one!!! An energetic and rhythmic ensemble (Pedal Harp Trio) commissioned by The American Harp Society On Behalf Of The Charm City Harp Ensemble. Key of Eb, rhythmically challenging, sometimes meter changes from 5/8 to 3/8, and has syncopation. Although written for pedal harp, there are no accidentals. Harp 1 is busiest in both hands, Harp 2 is the least challenging part, and Harp 3 uses both hands sparsely, but carries a lot of rhythmic responsibility. .

It is relatively easy to perform and once thoroughly learned and played „Live you will experience a great rewarding feed back of its magical power upon the public. There are 3 versions on this file. One in F for the pedal or chromatic Harp, one in Eb for a diatonic harp and one in F for a little 3 octave gothic harp. Some interpretation symbols where used in the score as a performance suggestion. Most of the score is left to the interpretation of the artists involved, particularly the use of fingering. Feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills. Have fun! The score was written on Finale. The sound file is the chromatic version in F, it was produced with samplers from Garrison and conceived merely as an audio support for the presentation of the score. This version of Over the Rainbow is arranged on a 22 string double strung lap harp. It can also be played on larger double strung floor harps. The chord progression is mostly based on Saori Mouri's arrangement for single strung lap harp. It has a jazzy flavor to it, and is in the key of C with levers needed on F and B. The lever changes are marked on the top of each staff for the right and left side. There is one mid song F lever flip on the right that will be a bit challenging since you can't see the levers on the right. But with practice, it's still doable. Hope you enjoy the piece!

This meditative, 4-page arrangement of the classic Christmas song White Christmas by Irving Berlin takes into account the unique needs of a very small lever harp that lacks the stability of instruments which rest on the floor. Lever adjustments are kept to an absolute minimum and allow the harpist enough time to stabilize the small harp while doing so without disrupting the flow of the song. The arrangement is specifically for 26-string (or larger) harps, like Rees Harpsicle (provided that your model has levers and you can play in 2 flats with a few C# accidentals), but it should also work on Dusty Strings harps, Hope Harps, Harp-E, or other small, portable harps. It is straight-forward enough to fit naturally under the fingers and promote fluent sight-reading (because who has time during the holidays to practice?), but complex enough to inspire rich artistic expression and transfix your listeners. The first section mimics the strumming of a guitar beneath a higher melody line, and the second, played an octave lower, sounds more like a simple, nostalgic piano arrangement of the song.

An advanced piece for pedal harp, about 12 minutes long, with lots of melodies and a variety of styles and tempos. It's in western classical harmony and structured as a melodic journey. There are sections with delicate handiwork/hand-work and a little bit of glissandi and pres de la table effects. Three sections in the middle are more extensive, one involving exuberant melodies, another having a waltz-like character, and the central one partly inspired by Weber's Andante and Hungarian Rondo (which I performed on the viola). My goal was to make the piece feel like one great cohesive experience instead of just a lot of little sections, and hopefully you will agree. My other goal was to provide melodies which will delight music-lovers, and package them together in a meaningful way. The PDF also includes composer's notes of musical analysis and the process I went through in writing the piece.

The melodic bass played with the left hand demands a little bit of coordination but the arrangement is focused in the main melody and is very easy to perform in all this 3 versions. It isn't terribly fast and it is a matter of taste how fast this should be played. I used to start every reception I played with this tune. After many years I finally wrote down the arrangement. I hope you get to play it as much as I did. If the ornamentation is too challenging play without. I reckon anybody with beginner/intermediate skills can play this. There are no lever changes.It can of course be played on the piano with different fingering. .
