"Hallelujah" is a song written by Canadian singer Leonard Cohen, and was originally released in 1984. It has grown in popularity over the years and is now widely used in both secular and sacred settings. It was also featured in the film Shrek in 2001.

This arrangement is for String Trio, and as with most Zene Strings arrangements, gives each player an opportunity to play the melody.

There is a violin II part (treble clef) as well as a viola part (alto clef) included, so this trio can be played with either two violins and a cello, or a violin, viola and cello.

Hans Werner Henze has composed several film scores for Volker Schlondorff's literary adaptations. 'In 1966 I wrote the music of Volker Schlondorff's first film Der junge Torless. I then thought the sound of the old early instruments that I chose could be understood as a metaphor for the early immature, almost childishly youthful and endangered of the protagonists of Musil's novella. Later I arranged several pieces from the score for string sextet and even made a string orchestra version of it.' (Hans Werner Henze).

A very faithful and recognizable rendition of U2's hit song, this arrangement for string trio has, not surprisingly, a very different sound. It allows the string trio to sound its best, creating its own, more meditative mood. The arrangement is suitable for professionals playing concerts or weddings, and will work as well for intermediate players and in school settings. Its meditative mood would also work in church services. Duration: 2 minutes, 53 seconds.

Paradise by Coldplay, arranged for string trio (violin, violin 2 or viola and cello) by Alison Gillies.

Paradise was released 2011 on Coldplay's fifth album, Mylo Xyloto. This arrangement for string trio retains the form of the original song and everybody has some of the melody at some point, beginning with the cello. A very popular request for weddings, this is one that gets asked for every year!

Puccini's gorgeous string quartet Crisantemi (Chrysanthemums) has been skillfullyadapted for string orchestra by L. C. Harnsberger. This is one of Puccini'srare instrumental works that has unfortunately been overshadowed by his numerous operas.Audiences will be mesmerized by the beautiful melody and bold chromaticism.Crisantemi was written as an elegy for the 1890 death of Puccini's friend theDuke of Aosta (formerly King Amadeo I of Spain). Puccini claimed that he was so moved by the passing of his friend that he composed the entire piece in one night. Crisantemi features a wide emotional and dynamic range which makes it a perfect addition to any concert.
