Puccini's gorgeous string quartet Crisantemi (Chrysanthemums) has been skillfullyadapted for string orchestra by L. C. Harnsberger. This is one of Puccini'srare instrumental works that has unfortunately been overshadowed by his numerous operas.Audiences will be mesmerized by the beautiful melody and bold chromaticism.Crisantemi was written as an elegy for the 1890 death of Puccini's friend theDuke of Aosta (formerly King Amadeo I of Spain). Puccini claimed that he was so moved by the passing of his friend that he composed the entire piece in one night. Crisantemi features a wide emotional and dynamic range which makes it a perfect addition to any concert.

Originally inspired by a spiritual, "Stand By Me" was written and recorded in 1961 by famed RandB singer-songwriter Ben E. King. The catchy, soulful tune immediately went to #1 on the RandB charts, and ended up becoming a Top Ten on the Billboard charts twice -- once for its original release, and again in 1986 when it was used as the theme song for a movie of the same name. This song has been deemed "culturally and historically significant" and it has remained one of the most beloved songs in history for decades, so you can't go wrong having this one in your gig books! This Cellobat arrangement for your violin and cello duo maintains the fun groove, catchy melody, and joyful feel of the original, plus a lyrical violin interpretation of the orchestral interlude in the middle, for a chart that's just as enjoyable to play as it is to listen to! Scott Joplin is celebrated as the United States? first well-known black composer, making his name as a writer of piano rags. His life was a constant struggle with adversity, and Joplin died relatively young in 1917, at the dawn of the recording age. Few remembered Joplin?s music until a revival in the 1970s brought The Entertainer and others to the world?s attention. Nowadays Scott Joplin has taken his rightful place in the gallery of great American composers.

The Rags included in this collection are, The Entertainer, The Maple Leaf Rag, The Easy Winners, The Elite Syncopations and The Favorite.

They have been arranged as solos for one Cello with piano accompaniment, and include all sections of the original compositions. You will download one pdf file that contains both 22 pages of piano score and the 10 page solo part. These pieces are suitable for players at an intermediate and advanced intermediate level. This arrangement of Wayne Shorter's One by One is a relatively easy jazz piece for intermediate ensembles. It works well with medium-sized cello ensembles with one to three cellists for each of the four parts.

Let It Be was one of the Beatles last recordings, released in 1970 when Paul McCartney had already announced his departure from the band. This version of Let it Be is arranged as a duet for one Violin and one Cello, and includes a short transcription of George Harrison?s guitar solo.
