Joropo de Justina is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Violin and one Viola.This duet is based on the traditional Latin style of Joropo which is the national and traditional music of Venezuela. The music and its accompanying dance comes from the central plains area and is also found over the border in parts of Colombia. The basic pulse of the Joropo is 3, but this is overlaid with complex cross-rhythms. The main instrument is the harp, along with cuatro and maracas as the only percussion instrument. In the modern era other instruments may join the ensemble, especially bass. This arrangement represents the song style of Joropo, with the vocal alternating with instrumental breaks.If you play to an advanced intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. The many cross rhythms will provide a rhythmic challenge and there is little time to catch breath; following the articulation in the score will help convey the style. Joropo de Justina has a performance time of around two minutes at full tempo. Still Waters is just as the title describes: simple and beautiful. This flowing duet features call-and-response phrases, as well as contrasting dynamics to give the song a push-and-pull feeling. A great early-intermediate piece to display the player's ability to use dynamics in a beautiful and emotional way.---------------------------Adam Lenhart is a University of Michigan student of music theory, composition, voice and organ from Ottawa Lake, Michigan. As a theorist, his areas of study vary widely, including 18th century counterpoint, the early American Sacred Harp tradition and impressionism. As a composer, his music draws inspiration from nature, mathematics and poetry. In 2020 he was awarded the Michigan Music Education Association’s Young Composers of Michigan award, as well as first prize in the University of Toledo Young Composers competition. Lenhart has also participated in numerous ensembles across Michigan, including the MYAF All-State Choir, Tecumseh Pops Orchestra, University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club and the SMTD University Choir. He thoroughly enjoys collaboration with other composers, performers, poets and visual artists. Some of his recent projects include collaborations with individuals from the University of Michigan Chamber Music, History, and Poetry departments.

I record the violin and viola part, while my friend does the guitar, bass and rhythm part. And the music score above is the strings cover.It is in the same key (B Major) as the original song.The violin and viola share quite evenly between the melody and the accompaniment part. This arrangement adapted for violin and viola duet was designed to make its listeners weep with emotion, because the adaptation preserves the original essence of the work, keeping its integrity faithful to what Beethoven wanted to transmit, with only a slight change in tone and addition of harmonic resources in the structure of the arrangement. Even though it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion, being intended for beginner students who want to immerse themselves in the universe of romantic music, and nothing better than starting with the transitional composer of this period, which also does not prevent professional teachers from using it for recitals, academic presentations or didactic material in their classes as an ensemble practice.Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C minor sharp, Op. 27, No. 2, is one of his most popular compositions and was an audience favorite even in his day. Written when Beethoven was 31, the Moonlight Sonata (Mondscheinsonate in German) was composed after he finished some commissioned works, but there is no evidence that he was hired to write this work. It did not receive its nickname until 1832, five years after Beethoven's death. It was the critic Ludwig Rellstab who compared the music to a moonlighting on Lake Lucerne. This comparison was adopted as a nickname for the work. Called Quasi una fantasia by the author - like its companion Op. 27, No. 1 - the piece was completed in 1801 and dedicated the following year to one of the composer's pupils. Beethoven chose to open the sonata with a slow, hypnotic arpeggio movement, the best known of the entire work. The dotted rhythm of its minimal melody evokes the tradition of 'Trauermusik' (funeral music).
