Welcome to your new favorite chart to play with your quartet! This Cellobat arrangement of the Irish traditional tune "Whiskey In The Jar" is anything but traditional. Unlike other versions that are entirely made up of the song's melody line repeated in the V1 part over a basic accompaniment, this chart features lush harmonies, countermelodies, and octave changes, passes the melody back and forth between the violins, and intertwines original solo and fiddle breakdown sections in between the verses (these aren't too difficult to play, but seem fast and impressive enough to make your audience's jaw drop!). This song is about 3:07 in duration and will be fun to play and exciting to listen to the entire time...your audience is guaranteed to get up and dance! It's a must-have for your quartet for St. Patrick's Day, of course, but also great for parties, events, solo & ensemble contests, or any other occasion that needs an upbeat fiddle vibe. Rated advanced-intermediate for a handful of interesting syncopated rhythms and some fast finger work, this arrangement will be playable for students and sightreadable for professionals - only the V2 part goes beyond first position.

"Tennessee Whiskey" was originally written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove in 1981. It has since been recorded by several notable country artists, but the most commercially successful of these was Chris Stapleton, whose version shot to the top of the charts and was certified platinum after he performed it with Justin Timberlake at the Country Music Association awards. This Cellobat arrangement for string quartetwas originally commissioned for a wedding ceremony, and it maintains the beautiful melodic lines, lush harmonic layers, passionate dynamic changes, and steady groove of the original. This sweet and slow country love song describes how love can lift you out of a dark place in your life, so of course it will be perfect not just for weddings, but for receptions, proposals, cocktail hour, parties, and any other occasion you want your audience to start slow-dancing! Rated advanced-intermediate for some complex, almost improvisational-sounding rhythms in the violin parts; the viola and cello parts are more of an early-intermediate level.

"I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" was recorded by Aerosmith for the smash hit 1998 film Armageddon, and it immediately became a huge success. The soulful power ballad debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, where it remained for 4 weeks, and it remains the band's biggest hit to this day; and of course it's still a very popular request for slow dances and weddings. As the cellist for Aerosmith's Las Vegas residency show, I've performed this song with the band over 40 times, so this one has a special place in my heart! This arrangement for string quartet maintains the beautiful harmonic layers, soaring melodies and countermelodies, driving beat, and dynamic passion of the original, for a chart that your audience will love listening to as much as you love playing it! Originally commissioned for a wedding ceremony, this will also beperfect for receptions, proposals, pop concerts, or any other occasion that you need to pull on your audience's heartstrings. Rated advanced intermediate, mainly for a number of tricky rhythms and a few high notes in the violin parts.

Sarah "Cellobat" Chaffee earned her bachelor's degree in cello performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and is now based in Las Vegas. She currently performs with Aerosmith in their "Deuces Are Wild" residency at The Park MGM Theater on the Las Vegas Strip. Sarah is also the principal cellist in David Perrico's Pop Strings Orchestra, a 14-piece band that performs every Friday and Saturday at Caesars Palace, and she plays regularly for Premiere Wedding Music and Bella Electric Strings. This is an essential item for any string ensemble, whether string quartet or string orchestra. The publication consists of full scores for each hymn plus separate instrumental parts and an optional simplified keyboard part. The parts include 1st violin, 2nd violin, viola, cello and bass. You can brighten the tone quality by getting the more advanced violin players play an octave higher than the written part. (You can hear this effect in the audio demos.) The cello and bass parts appear on a single staff but there?s also a melody part provided in the bass clef should you require a cello or double bass solo. Of course, you can use any number of instruments to a particular part. Using the keyboard part, you can use the arrangements as solos, duets or trios. Because the music has been set in string-friendly keys, the arrangements are not usually compatible with the brass and wind collections of the same title.
