The CELLO plays the melody for the first two verses and then for the third verse, the PIANO plays the melody while the CELLO adds broken-chord harmony. The first verse is flowing and legato in the key of C major, but then for the last two verses, it promptly transitions to the key of G major and a more upbeat rhythm with staccato.All notes for the CELLO are playable in the first position making this arrangement an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. The PIANO accompaniment is written for an intermediate player.
