The Champagne Galop (Danish: Champagne-Galoppen; German: Champagner Galopp) is a piece of orchestral music by the Danish composer Hans Christian Lumbye (1810?1874) which was written to celebrate the second anniversary of Copenhagen's Tivoli in 1845. Together with Lumbye's Telegraph Galop and Copenhagen Steam Railway Galop, it was included in the 2006 Danish Culture Canon as a masterpiece of Danish classical music. The arrangements differ from the choral originals for instrumental purposes in that: some repeated notes in the lower instruments are merged into single long notes various notes are slurred or made into staccatos and fermatas (pauses) are recreated as extended notes and bars, where it makes musical sense to do so.
