The key sequence is: D major using the basic statement with additional passing notes and decorations, with first flute taking the melody. It then moves up in the 2nd verse to E dorian with a slightly renaissance feel, with alto flute taking the melody. The 3rd verse, with bass flute on melody, goes on up to a jolly renaissance-style dance also in E Dorian, incorporating a mix of 3/4 and 6/8 rhythms. The final verse goes back to the D major 4/4 version with additional decorations and passing notes, while also occasionally reminding the audience of the 6/8-style contra-rhythms of the Dorian verses. This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection Joybells Ringing Songs of Praise (Collection of 10 Hymns for One Octave Handbell Choir with Piano).This sheet music is arranged for a one octave, 13-note chromatic scale Handbell choir with Piano accompaniment. The piano provides an introduction then the Handbells play the melody and occasional 2-part harmony. An optional repeat and second ending is included for playing additional verses. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instruments (Handbells and Piano) on a grand staff plus two separate scores for the Handbells (one score in standard format with black and white notes and the second score with color-coded notes).  Lyrics are provided on the Handbell staff.A color-coded note chart is provided showing the Handbell notes used for this arrangement as well as the number of times each note is played.  The note distribution is helpful when assigning notes to ringers. This is a companion to my earlier volume Chording to the Dance Masters which presented 44 of my favourite Renaissance Dance band tunes and arranged them as a single melody line with chords derived from the original harmony lines. In this volume I have reunited 22 of the pieces with the lower parts in the score, so that with more collaborators, the fullness of the original arrangement can be heard. The chords are still present, so if the ensemble is short handed, and lines are missing, the arrangements will still work. Publishers were able to take these tunes that were becoming known across the regions and nations and spread them even more widely, thanks to technological innovations in music printing which made it quicker and therefore cheaper to produce collections of these dances in four or more parts. These publishers were often highly accomplished composers in their own right, who were both able to provide distinctive harmony lines and compose new tunes in the style of their sources, feeding the courts with enduring tunes. Composers and printers of this time would often use note values that are double the length of those we would be used to seeing today, and so to make this version more readable, breves have become semibreves or whole notes, semibreves have become minims or half notes and so on. The title of this collection was inspired by the words found in Ephesians 5:19 (KJV) -- Speaking…in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord… This collection contains 10 hymns arranged for a one octave, 13-note chromatic scale Handbell choir with Piano accompaniment. For each song, the Piano provides an introduction then the Handbells play the melody and occasional 2-part harmony. Most songs include an optional repeat and second ending in case a longer song is desired. For each song, there is a combined score with both instruments (Handbells and Piano) on a grand staff plus two separate scores for the Handbells (one in standard format with black and white notes and the second with color-coded notes). The color-coded scores are enlarged so the colors are easier to distinguish and all sharps and flats are displayed (shown in the key of C) as reminders for beginning ringers. A color-coded note chart is also provided for each song which shows the Handbell notes used as well as the number of times each note is played. The note distribution is helpful when assigning notes to ringers. You may want to assign fewer notes to beginners or evenly distribute the bells between all ringers. As noted above, one of the Handbell scores for each song is color-coded for easier note reading for beginning ringers. These separate color-coded scores use the Chroma-Notes™ Colored Music System. If you have a set of Handbells with a different color scheme, Chroma-Notes Stick Ons can be purchased and applied so the Handbells match this color scheme. The number of ringers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned two or three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one or two notes to each person. Note assignment suggestions are included for each song and range from 4 to 9 ringers. These familiar hymns are perfect for small groups and especially beginning ringers. Most songs can be performed with as few as 5 people (4 ringers and 1 piano player). In 1985, it was adopted by the heads of state and government of the member countries as the official anthem of the European Union. The anthem has no lyrics and consists only of music. In the universal language of music, this anthem expresses the ideals of freedom, peace and solidarity that Europe pursues.The European anthem is not intended to replace the national anthems of the member countries, but rather to celebrate the values they share. Upon my return to California in 1989, I felt compelled to add one more piece to complete the collection of ten. My aim was to curate an album featuring ten piano compositions in the evocative style of Chinese music, aptly named “CHINA LOVE.â€The term CHIN JING, when spoken phonetically in Mandarin with the appropriate accents, translates to I Want To Be Near You.
