My brief musical composition, Enigmatic Gavotte for guitar solo, served as a brief, modal study for my Enigmatic Dance Suite for vibraphone solo which I also completed in 2024. The rhythms for the beginning and reprise of Enigmatic Gavotte are inspired by those found in the Gavotte from French Suite No. 5 by J. S. Bach, BWV 816. Composta em 2018, a peça Enigmatic Opus 44 para clarinete em si bemol é uma peça em três movimentos e cada movimento é construÃdo em diferentes formações escalares. O primeiro movimento é modal, construÃdo nos modos dórico e lÃdio. O movimento da peça tem sua melodia baseada na escala menor melódica de Fá. Essa escala é utilizada em toda a peça. Em outra composição, notas da sexta germânica como parte seguintes notas anexas à melodia, usando Lá bemol, Dó natural, Mi bemol e Fá sustentado. O uso dessas notas pode ser visto claramente no compasso 18. O terceiro movimento é baseado na escala octatônica D, usando as notas D, E, F, G, A bemol, B bemol, B natural e C sustenido. A peça traz todo um trabalho rÃtmico e em muitos momentos um lirismo muito interessante para o instrumentista.

Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q11388). The 'Song of Songs' or 'Song of Solomon' addressed to Sulamith and ascribed to Solomon is one of the most mysterious texts of the Bible. If the character of Solomon itself is enigmatic, the character of the 'bride' is even more enigmatic. Saint Augustine and many other exegetes regarded this brilliant fireworks of the senses as an allegory of the mystic union of the soul with God while others recognized Arabian wedding rites or, in terms of cult and mythology, the union of the old deities Ishtar and Tammuz. The Gospel according to St. John draws many parallels to Maria Magdalena and the resurrection of Christ. One of the latest interpretations can be found in Paul Celan's poem 'Death Fugue' in which Sulamith embodies the prototype of the Jewish victim. All these mysterious facets are incorporated in the form of the 'Danse sacrée' in which the physicality of dancing seems to be contradictory to an existential content. An impressive composition for violoncello and piano.

Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1515502). 'The Choral Symphony' is a large work by Gustav Holst for soprano soloist, chorus, and orchestra in a setting of unrelated verses by John Keats. Written in 1923–24, it was premiered in Leeds on October 7, 1925, with the second performance three weeks later in London, although not received as well, due to various circumstances. 'Ode on a Grecian Urn' is sometimes performed separately from the symphony (as is another movement ('Scherzo')) and the final entry from the oboe reflects the enigmatic and often debated closing lines of the poem: Beauty is truth, truth beauty—that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know. This new arrangement for symphonic wind band has been created to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Holst - composed ten years after his famous suite 'The Planets', this piece immediately brings to mind his inventive use of harmony and would make a centrepiece contribution in a cathedral-based concert to allow all the notes to resonate fully.

In an attempt to understand the enigmatic style of Grainger's wind band music, I made a detailed analysis of his recurring orchestrational practices with regard to melody, countermelody, part writing and contrapuntal dynamics. The conclusion is that the Grainger sound is a function of recurring orchestrational techniques, rather than other compositional elements such as melody or harmony. This information was then used to dish up selected Grainger voice and piano pieces in his own idiosyncratic style. I also arranged “British Waterside” and “The Cutting of The Hay” (G. Schrimer). Lord Maxwell’s Goodnight is a reflective, moving piece based on a ballad about Lord Maxwell, who has killed a rival in a long-standing bloody family feud and is leaving for Scotland to avoid prosecution. He bids good-bye to his wife, his lands and his country. Lord Maxwell’s Goodnight appears as Grainger’s British Folk Music Setting No. 42 for high tenor voice or unison male chorus and 4 strings (violin, viola, 2 cellos) in 1904. The original is in the key of F major but has been shifted to Db major in this orchestration. The lyrics of the first verse are: Adieu, madame, my mother dear,But and my sisters three O!Adieu, fair Robert of Orchardstane,My heart is woe for thee, O!Adieu, the lily and the rose,The primrose fair to see, O!Adieu, my ladye, and only joy,For I may not stay with thee, O!.

The video clips used for this video were taken at the Omaha Zoo on 26 Nov 2021 and 13 Jul 2022, and eventually, this serene music was composed to beautifully highlight the exquisite loveliness of these enigmatic (albeit perilous) creatures. This work unexpectedly became the most popular original Thrower composition on YouTube. The sheet music was originally intended to be published in a collection of other similar short compositions written to underscore memorable scenes and amusements from my life. Due to the overwhelming popularity of this work, however, it needed to be released as its own publication. Duration: 2:15.

When you listen to the mp3, you can instantly think of rain pouring down on the window sill as the writer collects his thoughts on a single empty page. You can grasp a sort of sentiment filled with loneliness. Its tonically somber, but characteristically its presenting this enigmatic drift. Theres a shift in time you can visualize mentally when you learn this piece.

The opera tells of three travelling doctors who seek lodging for a night, offering the establishment’s innkeeper a demonstration of their unbelievable skills: they can cut out parts of their own bodies only to reattach them later with the aid of a proprietary salve. After one removes a hand, another their heart, and the third their eyeballs, an enigmatic cat appears on the scene to dine on the flesh and throw the course of the story into disarray. This is a contemporary interpretation of one of the Grimm’s most eccentric of tales. The character of the insatiable Cat is inspired by our national hero, Fran Lebowitz.The aria premiered in Norway.
