Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1133711 By Various. By Anonymous, Giorgio Mainerio, Michael Praetorius, Pierre Attaignant, Pierre Certon, Pierre Phalese, and Tielman Susato. Arranged by Alastair Lodge. Early Music,Folk,Historic,Medieval,Renaissance. 50 pages. Wold Meridian #733808. Published by Wold Meridian (A0.1133711). This is a companion to my earlier volume Chording to the Dance Masters which presented 44 of my favourite Renaissance Dance band tunes and arranged them as a single melody line with chords derived from the original harmony lines. In this volume I have reunited 22 of the pieces with the lower parts in the score, so that with more collaborators, the fullness of the original arrangement can be heard. The chords are still present, so if the ensemble is short handed, and lines are missing, the arrangements will still work. What is more, by contrasting the melody and chords with the full scoring, it should be possible to work some light and shade into performances. You can hear all the pieces and their chords on YouTube together with contemporary art and historical background material:https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYRWH2nycMkMoIoEYEMVPa_EXY6NVDpNSAs a help to those less confident in playing harmony lines, I have provided links to playlists of videos online for each part of each piece. You will hear the selected line on its own with chords and percussion, with the melody line added on repeats. The final repeat includes the other harmony lines, but the featured line is slightly louder in the mix. The performance starts with a percussion beat introduction to set the tempo.Who were the Publishers and the Dance Masters? What did they do? Sometime around the 1500s, the popularity of dance music exploded in Europe. Dance Masters were collecting chansons and dance tunes from courts and rural parts and were teaching these to new audiences, spreading their arrangements and reflecting the performance styles of the areas from which they had collected the tunes. Publishers were able to take these tunes that were becoming known across the regions and nations and spread them even more widely, thanks to technological innovations in music printing which made it quicker and therefore cheaper to produce collections of these dances in four or more parts. These publishers were often highly accomplished composers in their own right, who were both able to provide distinctive harmony lines and compose new tunes in the style of their sources, feeding the courts with enduring tunes. Composers and printers of this time would often use note values that are double the length of those we would be used to seeing today, and so to make this version more readable, breves have become semibreves or whole notes, semibreves have become minims or half notes and so on. Working with this publication For those just starting out in Early Music, the volume is an ideal introduction, since the ensemble can build from a soloist with accompaniment with the chords alone, and parts can be added in as additional musicians become available. Instrumentation for these pieces was not specified in the original prints. The range of each part is quite limited, and though the harmonies may seem strange at times, key signatures are kind to the less experienced musician. If enthusiasm takes hold, then reproductions of early music instruments are sold by some very talented makers, as well as coming up on auction sites. Otherwise, it is possible to put together a fairly convincing ensemble with recorders, violins, a cello and mandolins, bouzoukis, flutes or guitars and gradually introduce the authentic instruments as they become available.

Anthem: Lift Up Your Heads for Mixed Chorus and Brass Quartet

B-Flat Trumpet,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Choir,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1156067 Composed by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Arranged by Richard Decker. 20th Century,Christmas,Contest,Easter,Festival,Praise & Worship. 42 pages. Charles Decker Music Press #756379. Published by Charles Decker Music Press (A0.1156067). Samuel Coleridge-Taylor was an early 20th century English composer and conductor who was an influential advocate for Black composers. His numerous choir anthems offer dramatic performance opportunities for church or the concert hall. His festival anthem SATB choral anthem Lift Up Your Heads is an expressive and dramatic work enhanced with brass quartet accompaniment of two B-flat trumpets and two trombones with alternate F horn and treble clef euphonium parts provided for the trombone parts. The organ/piano part can be used for chorus preparation as well as additional support for performances if desired. However, not using the keyboard part in its entirety for a performance in addition to the brass group will create a more interesting interplay of different timbres. Conductors should ensure accompaniment parts don't overwhelm the chorus especially if the keyboard part is added with the brass. The recording is of the entire edition.Use this link to see all the Charles Decker Music Press Christmas holiday music for mixed brass and homogeneous groups.“The Music of Black Composers Series is a welcome and timely addition to the brass repertoire. Interesting music, expertly arranged, fun to perform, and well received by audiences. Highly recommended!†Wesley Nance, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Eastman School of Music “I was so pleased to see the great works arranged for brass ensemble by Charles Decker Music Press especially the Music of Black Composers’ Series. It was especially rewarding to perform several of these with Summit Brass and with the students attending the Rafael Mendez Brass institute. Please keep these wonderful settings coming. You have provided the brass world with some real gems.† Joseph Parisi, Director Summit Brass, Fountain City Brass Band, University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory Wind EnsembleThe Interlochen Arts Academy and the University of Denver have purchased the Music of Black Composer Series with Charles Decker Music Press and the summer Rafael Mendez Brass Institute and Eastman School of Music uses the series arrangements in their chamber and brass ensembles music programs. See 50+ homogeneous brass editions for trumpet, horn and trombone ensembles and 75+ mixed brass ensemble publications with Charles Decker Music Press at Sheet Music Plus for inexperienced to advanced musicians with music ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary new works for trios, quartets, quintets, brass choir and brass band. Many of the mixed brass ensemble editions include alternate and substitute parts being alternate C trumpet parts for B-flat trumpet parts, flugelhorn/trumpet substitute for horn, horn substitute for trombone and treble clef euphonium substitute for trombone. Mixed Percussion B-Flat Tuba,B-Flat trombone,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Bass Trombone,E-Flat Cornet,E-Flat Tenor Horn,E-Flat Tuba TC,Flugelhorn,Percussion 1,Percussion 2,Tenor Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.752332 Composed by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. Contemporary,Film/TV. Brass Band. 28 pages. RBMusic #3570265. Published by RBMusic (A0.752332). The A-Team is an American television series that ran from 1983 to 1987. It opens with the infamous narration: ‘In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.’ The show revolves around four members of the fictitious United States Army Special Forces unit. These are the leader Colonel/Colonel John Hannibal Smith (played by George Peppard), smooth-talking Lieutenant Templeton Peck or Face (Dirk Benedict), pilot Captain H.M. Howling Mad Murdock (Dwight Schultz) and mechanic Sergeant First Class Bosco B.A. Baracus (Mr. T). The main theme was composed by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter, although the version they created was not the same as the theme heard on-screen (which is what this arrangement is of). The theme has been ranked among the best TV themes every written. Interesting, the French version of the theme has lyrics that mirror the spoken description of the English version of the show. In 2010, 20th Century Fox released a feature film based on the series starring Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Quinton Jackson and Sharlto Copley as the A-Team. Alan Silvestri composed the soundtrack. This arrangement of the Main Theme is for the UK-style brass band, with alternative parts for piccolo trumpet, horns in F and bass-clef lower brass. It has been designed to work just as well for indoor performances as outdoor concerts. It also has the band parts reduced down to march-card size for use with a lyre as well as a music stand (making it ideal for events such as Durham Miners' Gala). A recording from the original soundtrack can be found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MVonyVSQoM.

Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488249 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Alberto Mandarini. Baroque,Chamber,Classical,Historic,Instructional. 19 pages. Alm@music #1065126. Published by Alm@music (A0.1488249). I transcribed Contrapunctus I from the Art of Fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach, faithfully respecting the work of the Great Maestro, intervening only to distribute the voices when impracticable by the individual instruments and to give some breathing space to the various performers. In fact, from 4 parts, I obtained 5 using a small doubling only in the final part. The choice to use 3 trumpets and 2 trombones, and not the more typical brass quintet (2 trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba), was dictated by the lineup I had available at the time I made the transcription. Luckily, the second trombone part fits perfectly with the original fourth voice (…except for one very brief point…).However, in the future, I don't rule out creating a version for the standard quintet too!On a didactic level, the choice of this piece was certainly ambitious, but the extraordinary thing is that through Bach's music (!!!) it was possible to address an enormous amount of musical nuances. This immediately fascinated my students, both young and old, who did not hesitate to get involved with all their strength and I must say that, at the end of the study path, each of them achieved a clear improvement both technically and, above all, expressive. But then it's no surprise, Bach's music is always extraordinary and surprising! The structure of the transcription is therefore the original one and the duration is around 2 minutes and 45 seconds. To the expected parts I also added that of the horn in F, replacing the 3rd trumpet. At your discretion, of course, decide whether to replace it or double it directly. Also in this case, the audio is made with the synthetic sounds of midi, therefore not particularly captivating, but it should still be useful for getting an idea of the arrangement and for studying the individual parts.Good music!am.

Instructional. Score and parts. 129 pages. Dots and Beams #5313613. Published by Dots and Beams (A0.931837). This book provides its user with a series of notes on a treble staff with no rhythm values and no meter. Chapters are organized by the placement of the notes relative to the staff; on the staff, above the staff, below the staff, on and above the staff, and on and below the staff. For each pitch range there is one chapter with no accidentals and one chapter with accidentals. All exercises have a space at the beginning of each staff to write in a key signature, allowing each exercise to be read in all keys and used in many ways. The aim with this book is to allow the user to focus specifically on exercises centred around pitch without the distraction of rhythmic values or time signatures. This can begin with the practice of sight-reading but can expand to include many other learning goals. The diatonic sets contain notes with no accidentals or key signature. These collections can be read as written, using only natural notes, or in any of the 15 key signatures from 7 flats to 7 sharps. Chromatic collections include sharp and flat notes as well as natural ones. The later exercises in these chapters increase the difficulty by including B#, Cb, E#, and Fb. Ledger line chapters start with the first ledger line and gradually expand away from the staff. Exercises above the staff reach up to the space above the fifth ledger line while exercises below reach down to the space below the third. The random nature of the notes in these exercises is intentional; it forces the user to pay attention to each note and makes the exercises very difficult to memorize, ensuring that they will still present a challenge even after multiple readings. It’s important when sight-reading to cycle through the exercises quickly rather than dwelling on a single exercise for a long time. This will ensure that you’re strengthening your ability to read the notes rather than just memorizing the exercises. Some suggestions for how to use this book include: Gain comfort reading the notes and finding them on your instrument in no particular rhythm or tempo. A greater challenge can be achieved by playing them at a steady tempo or by playing them in a simple rhythmic pattern. Beginner students can begin by writing in the note names. Play each exercise in all 15 key signatures. Advanced theory students and improvising musicians can also use these exercises to practice identifying scale degrees in various keys or playing chords built on every scale degree in the chosen key. Develop comfort with chords by playing a chord built on each note in the exercise. For example: for each note in the exercise, play the major chord with that root. Increase the difficulty with different chord qualities or different chord tones, for example: for every note, play the minor 7th chord in which the given note is the 3rd. Practice transposing into different keys. This is an especially useful challenge for people who play transposing instruments such as brass and woodwind instruments. Chapters with wide ranges can present a great exercise for musicians who play instruments where large leaps are a challenge. People who play strings, mallet percussion, piano, woodwinds, and brass would be among those who would benefit from practising these awkward leaps and falls. As with any of the Dots and Beams books, the uses for this particular collection are limited only by the imagination of the musician using it. I highly encourage anybody using this book to find as many uses for it as possible. My hope is that as you grow as a musician you will find ever more creative and challenging ways to use these materials so that you can return to these books for years.

DF McCorkle Music and eBook Publications #11755. Published by DF McCorkle Music and eBook Publications (A0.784832). ACT TWO: Song 6. The King, by Dennis McCorkle, is a contemporary pop-rock musical of the first two kings of Israel, Saul ben Kish and David ben Jesse and explores the contrasting lives and outcome of each man’s choices in life. [2 Samuel 11:12-13 - And David said to Uriah: ‘Tarry here to-day also, and to-morrow I will let thee depart.’ So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow. 13 And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk; and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.] In fear of being exposed, DAVID has her husband brought back from the field with the hope that he will have relations with his wife covering up his own indiscretion. URIAH, a conscientious soldier, returns home, but sleeps outside on his steps out of respect for the men still fighting on the front. Seeing that his ploy has not worked, he has URIAH and some of his men over to the palace for drinks [Pour Me Another One – Troops, Uriah and David]. Getting URIAH drunk, DAVID has him escorted home, but as before he sleeps outside. As a last desperate measure, he sends a letter for JOAB (David’s commander and confidant) back with URIAH to place URIAH on the front line and then have the rest of the troops pull back leaving him exposed. URIAH is killed. Also included with your order is our new 20 page catalog of over 150 titles at no additional charge.

Small Ensemble Flute,Piano,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008082 Composed by Connie Pwll Walck Tyler. Contemporary,Sacred. Score and parts. 14 pages. Connie Tyler #4607671. Published by Connie Tyler (A0.1008082). This piece, for soprano and alto duet with piano and flute, speaks of the persistence of the dove, the peace maker, faced with war, famine, poverty, etc. It was written when the United States went to war with Afghanistan and Representative Barbara Lee stood up and was the lone voice against war. Although the piece is secular, the use of the symbol of the dove would work well in religious services. The piece involves a two against three rhythm which suggests the difficulties the dove faces flying for peace against the overwhelming odds of war. The .mp3 file is computer generated with choral oohs for the voices. The words are:Now the dove flies, sails the war-torn skies, feels the wind rip through her wings.Tossed and turned now, cries of war howl,tear-ing through her, and she still sings. Sings to march-ers on crowd-ed streetssing-ing songs of love and songs of peace.Tips her wings to those who dare stand tall, speak re-sound-ing no's in hal-lowed halls. They say that that sin means to miss the mark.I have so man-y times aimed in the dark.We fail in lit-tle ways, be-tray our friends. It was-n't planned that way.Dis-trac-tion leads to e-vil ends. The sha-dow fear clouds our at-ten-tion.Mind falls a-stray in-to dis-sen-sion. Ig-no rance can twist the dartand then it falls far from the mark. Na-tions, too, a-stray our free-doms bend‘til some have bombed away all chance at friends. We see glo-ry mag-ni-fied.Shout our prais-es to the to the skies.Build our mon-u-ments to our wars,for-get-ting the needs of of weak and poor. And still the dove flies while the earth criespol-lu-ted with more de-bris of war.Child-ren sick now, soldiers cry foul!Dove is weep-ing and yet she hums. Hums to child-ren who diede-spite moth-ers' deep cries.Sings to young who march to war,de-spite fa-thers' out-raged roars.Wings o-ver fa-mine and drought,pol-lu-ted wa-ter, pol-lu-ted ground.Folds us un-der her down-y breast.Warms us in her gen tle nest. By Graham Hamilton. Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Historic,Medieval. Brass Band. 83 pages. Hambone Music #1018484. Published by Hambone Music (A0.1438467). A beautiful slow melody in 4/4 followed by a rousing 6/4 trek with fanfares then returning to the slow melody in 4/4. Not overly difficult but players should be around Grade 5 (ABRSM) and bands of around 2nd to 3rd section, although still possible with 4th section bands. Inspired by an old ruined church in my town called the 'Cross Kirk' during the times of the Cromwellian invasion of Scotland.Part 1 It is around the year 1650. A novice monk awakes from his slumber to the echoes of prayers and holy chanting coming through the cloisters. After he rises, he readies the oxen for a trek down the St. Andrews Road to the nearby satellite site of the priory - the site of the modern day St Andrew's cemetery. Part 2 It is an arduous trek over a muddy, rocky, unprepared track with heavy carts, with oxen straining to pull the load. They stop for a breather (3:09) and the impressive vistas are observed and the flag at 'Auld Neidpath' is just visible, reflected in the noble theme between the arduous oxen trekking theme. Part 3 The caravan starts to speed up; the oxen being startled by the sounds of fanfare trumpets coming from behind - a brave group of knights have broken through English lines and speed towards Neidpath to reinforce the besieged occupants. As they pass the wagon train, the fanfares get louder until the party reach the head of the train where the lead Knight halts to show piety to the Hieromonk who blesses him and his knights. The novice looks on awe-inspired at the brave knights, with noble faces, resplendent in shining armour, with banners flapping in the wind. No time to stop! The knights remount and continue on, the fanfares trailing off into the distance. The wagon train slows down having reached its destination. Part 4 The novice is back at the priory, reflecting on seeing knights for the first time (receiving their blessing); their nobility and bravery impressed upon him and retires to his cell for the evening, the evening prayers and chants again echoing through the cloisters . As he closes his eyes, his mind returns to the knights and a smile crosses his face as he gently drifts off to sleep, as the final bell of the day tolls.

Arranged by Robert Luke Thompson. Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Brass Band. 33 pages. Monkspath Music #808128. Published by Monkspath Music (A0.1210354). The Night Window is a hauntingly beautiful instrumental piece that features in Sam Mendes’ World War I film, 1917. Composed by Thomas Newman, the score is a masterpiece of orchestration that captures the emotional intensity of war. This arrangment for Brass Band will work perfectly in any film music concert, or even a Remembrance related event. The Night Window is featured in a pivotal scene where the film's protagonist, Lance Corporal Schofield, takes refuge in an abandoned house during a tense night-time sequence. As Schofield takes a moment to rest and recover from his harrowing journey, he notices a window covered in beautiful stained glass that casts an ethereal glow over the room. The haunting melody of The Night Window begins to play as Schofield reflects on his experiences and contemplates the task ahead of him – saving the lives of sixteen-hundred men. As the title suggests, the music conveys the image of a night scene. The piece begins softly, with a gentle motif that evokes the stillness of the night. As the piece progresses, the music gradually builds in intensity and texture, whilst the camera slowly zooms in on the window, highlighting its beauty and fragility. The piece reaches its climax as Schofield gazes out of the window, and the camera pulls back to reveal the ruins of a once-beautiful town, now ravaged by war. The Night Window perfectly captures the sense of loss and devastation that war brings, while also conveying a glimmer of hope and beauty amid the darkness. A powerful piece of music that perfectly captures the emotions and themes of 1917. Its haunting beauty and evocative melodies make it a standout track in the film's score, and a piece that will linger in the listener's mind long after the credits have rolled. For further pieces, view the Monkspath Music catalogue and click here!

Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576733). Mysterious piece in octatonic mode, originally written for the short story The Door The pdf file contains score and parts. The sound sample is an electronic preview. High up on the grassy hill behind the town there is a door. It stands there in its frame with nothing before or behind it. It is locked shut. There is no key. We climb the hill each day. We play each side of the door, games of hide and seek. But we cannot go through the door. Each day we go there during this long sultry summer holiday. We are fascinated by the structure. Why would anyone put a door up there, in its frame, eternally locked, with nothing before or behind it? Maybe it is all that remains of an ancient house? We play, we wonder, we laugh and play, and we return regularly to our homes in time for tea. Then, one day, as we climb the hill for the umpteenth time, a lady dressed in white arrives before us. We watch her take the key out of her bag and insert it in the lock. We are too far downhill to catch up before she closes the door behind her. As we arrive, puffing and panting, Steve knocks on the door. No answer. Dave knocks on the door more forcefully. We hear a distant swish of robes. Gloria knocks, perhaps a little more timidly as the swishing sound approaches. Estelle begins to knock in her turn and the door suddenly opens wide. We all gasp as we see the lady standing there in glistening robes. Her face is hidden from view by a white shawl, but her piercing eyes still show. Children, she says, welcome all. Do come in, please, the kettle is on. You are just in time for tea. We hesitate, as well we might. How can we come in when there is nothing before or behind the door? But Estelle puts one foot inside and looks back at us with a curious expression of serenity on her face. We follow her. We look around at the new space beyond the door and at the parquet floor beneath our dew-soaked feet. As our eyes become accustomed to the brightness of the interior we catch sight of many signs of the world we have entered, but only fleetingly. They pass before our eyes in an instant and then flee beyond the range of sight. There is a staircase, a hat stand, a distant gleam of an ancient cooker, a faint whiff of scones and boiling jam. As we walk inside, our senses are overwhelmed with the new reality, we are rooted to the spot. Do please sit down, says the lady with a slight catch in her throat. We are seated on wooden chairs along one side of an oak table, although we cannot recall how we got there, some slip of the memory perhaps. We have no sense of foreboding, Estelle's serenity has passed to all of us. We can stay here eating scones and jam until the end of time. The lady removes her shawl and reveals a face as beautiful as anyone's mother's. Her deep black eyes glisten like obsidian. She beams a smile of welcome and pours the tea. I'm glad you have come. I've been expecting you, she begins. You must have a thousand questions, so do please ask away. Well, says Steve, what is this door that we passed through? Is this another world? There is no other world, the lady replies, this is the only one. But there is! There is! starts Dave excitedly, Look!. He gets up quickly from the chair, knocking it over in his haste and rushes to the door to open it. He pulls at it with all his force and reveals a black nothingness behind it. We were on the hill, where's it gone? he shouts, what have you done to it? There is no hill. But you climbed the hill in front of us says Gloria. There is no hill. Even Estelle of the serene demeanour is beginning to look worried. How did we get here then, how did you get here, she asks the lady nervously. We have all been here since the beginning of time, the catch in the lady's throat is becoming more evident. No, we have our families down there in the town cries Estelle You have no families,.

Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105037 By David Kai. By David Kai. Arranged by David Kai. Christian,Contemporary,Rock. Full Performance. Duration 239. David Kai #708281. Published by David Kai (A0.1105037). This song is a reflection on Psalm 46. Like many Psalms, it contains elements of questioning, challenge and finally, faith. It is written in a Contemporary Christian/Christian Rock style. BE STILL AND KNOW (Psalm 46) BE STILL AND KNOW Chorus: Be still and know that I am God, Be still and know that I am God Be still and know that I am, Be still and know that I am God You are the Word beyond all words, a holy mystery, A presence in the universe that I can’t touch or see, A force in space and time with no beginning and no end, A spark of inspiration that I cannot comprehend. In a world that’s so embraced by pain how can Your love be shown? In life that’s short and fleeting, can eternity be known? My questions have no answers for I’ve painted You too small, So I will cease my babbling and worship You in awe. Be still and know that I am God, Be still and know that I am God Be still and know that I am, Be still and know that I am God Our God’s a refuge and our strength, and so we will not fear, Though mountains shake and waters roar our God is always near, God makes the wars to cease and breaks the bow, the shield, the spear, Behold the works of God whose reign of peace will dry all tears. You are the glints of sunlight through the amber-dappled leaves, You are the hints of silence in the vows that lovers breathe, You are the one who awes me with the love that we receive, You are my first and dying breath, in You I will believe. Be still and know that I am God...

Small Ensemble Guitar,Low Voice,Medium Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576706 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by David Warin Solomons. Classical,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 5 pages. David Warin Solomons #90245. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576706). Schubert's setting of words from Goethe's Wilhelm Meister (with my singing translation in English) transposed to the key of E minor for low voice and guitar. In some places the guitar part is simplified in comparison to the original piano part in order to improve the flowing quality and to make it possible for one person to accompany herself/himself on the guitar. A version for low voice and piano also in E minor, is also available The sound sample is an electronic preview. The three individual songs (Wer sich der Einsamkeit ergibt, Wer nie sein Brot mit Tränen ass, An die Türen) and also all three together (under the title Gesänge des Harfners (songs of the harpist) ) are available on this site The pdf file contains the score and also the separate parts. I will creep up to the doors and stand there quiet and polite goodly hands will give me food and grateful I will leave their sight Every person will seem happy When they see me at their door They will shed a tear which I will never know the reason for. They Saw a Star SSAA Cantata
Small Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1515104 Composed by Connie Boss…
(+)
Small Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1515104 Composed by Connie Boss. Arranged by Connie Boss. Christian,Christmas. 106 pages. Connie Boss #1089606. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1515104). Everyone knows how special the star was for the birth of Jesus. The star guided many along the way to find the manger that Mary, Joseph and the newborn baby, Jesus were at. This cantata reflects the importance of the star during that time. Most of the songs have lyrics about the star. The cantata starts off with Mary finding out from the angel that God chose her to bear his son - Ave Maria was redone for this advent moment. It keeps to the melody and Ave Maria words are still part of the lyrics. Some of the lyrics have the English translation in the song, while other lyrics are new for this Christmas song. The next song O Little Town of Bethlehem is where Mary and Joseph have to travel to pay their taxes and where Jesus is born. This is where the star shines down for all to see. This is the traditional song, but I have added extra lyrics at the end of each original verse. Next, the shepherds seeing the star decide to travel to Bethlehem. Pachelbel Canon is so iconic, but I have added lyrics from While Shepherds watched their flocks by night, Away in a Manger, What Child is This and The First Noel. The choir parts bring rich harmonies to the piece. The Angels said leave your sheep and leave your lambs. Rise up Shepherd and Follow. Now we are at the manger. I composed the song - A Little Baby. He was born to save us all. . Still, Still, Still “Tis the Night of Our Savior’s Birth has added lyrics to each verse that ties in with the original lyrics. The title of this cantata is They Saw A Star - this is from the song I composed with the same title. It not only brings in the shepherds, but also the Three Wisemen. To close out this cantata, I have used the lyrics from We Three Kings and the melody of Scarborough Fair. This arrangement has an SA duet with SSAA choir parts with ahhs that sound very mysterious. It also does include parts for strings if you are lucky enough to have violins and a cello. The strings parts are the same as the choir parts, so it is perfectly fine to do this with just a choir. I hope you enjoy singing and listening to this cantata—Connie BossI didn't have a minimum copy, so you can make copies of this. This is why I have it priced at this price. For questions or requests, email Cdboss@cvalley.net.

Christmas,Holiday. 122 pages. Connie Boss #907356. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1318802). This arrangement has an ST duet with SATB choir parts with ahhs that sound very mysterious. It also does include parts for strings if you are lucky enough to have violins and a cello. The strings parts are the same as the choir parts, so it is perfectly fine to do this with just a choir.  I hope you enjoy singing and listening to this cantata—Connie Boss.

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1074681 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Classical,Film/TV. Score and parts. 18 pages. Derek Hasted #678951. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1074681). PRESTO (Mozart K522) The Horse Of The Year Show TV Theme - 3 GUITARS OR LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This is part of the fourth movement - Presto - of Mozart’s K522 for string quartet and two horns. It’s commonly known as “A Musical Jokeâ€, though the correct translation is “Some Musical Funâ€. In the UK, a sanitised version with added drumbeat and electric bass was used as the TV theme music to “The Horse Of The Year Showâ€. My arrangement has just some of the thematic material of the original, yet still fills a music stand. An optional repeat extends the piece to a little over 3 minutes. Mozart intended the piece as a showcase of how NOT to write, and the Presto contains some extraordinary and modern-sounding key changes as well as some rather odd counterpoint. The original Presto finishes with an unexpected burst into 4 different keys, all sounding together after one of the longest build-ups to an ending you’ll ever hear. My setting for 3 guitars ends in 3 of the 4 keys that Mozart burst into. Most audiences would probably associate this with a catastrophic disaster, so I’ve included a second ending that stays in key for a nice happy ending! Rather than the isolated quavers (eighth notes) and rests, I’ve used staccato marks to make a version that is much easier to read yet has exactly the same articulation. I hope you enjoy this piece!
