The monks prayed that the girl would intercede and had begun to sing the anthem Ave Regina Caelorum when she regained consciousness and went on to recover completely that same evening. This work for four male voices or male choir demonstrates Bryars’ vocal writing at its best and breathes new life into early musical traditions. The garden has been locked since her death. Mary asks her uncle for a bit of earth so she can plant a garden of her own. This is the song that Archibald sings about his niece.

As an audio sample, The Red Haired Girl is provided here. These arrangements can be played on recorder and violin (which is how we play them), flute and violin, or two violins. If the upper part is played on recorder, the recorder player may switch between soprano, alto, and tenor recorders in accordance with the range and mood of each piece. We generally prefer the soprano recorder on the faster reels, jigs, and hornpipes and the tenor recorder (or sometimes the alto recorder) on the more lyrical pieces. In performing this music, I often devise new decorations, in keeping with Celtic tradition where no two performances of a piece are ever identical. You will likewise add your own meaning to this evocative music. Violinists can add authenticity by applying Irish bowing techniques, which includes various slurring patterns. Such bowings have been kept to a minimum in this collection for recorder and violin, but the techniques are well worth exploring and developing. These pieces are delightful to perform for Celtic festivals, St. Patrick's Day celebrations, weddings, birthdays, and other theme events. Des Baches Weigenlied (The Brook’s Lullaby)This is the final song in Die Schöne Mullerin, and is a lullaby for the travelling miller as he drowns himself in the brook that he followed throughout his journey. The girl he was serenading in Morgengruss did not return his feelings and eventually fell in love with a hunter instead, which is why the miller chooses to commit suicide at the end of the story. Written in strophic form, this song is very repetitive and should be performed in a hypnotic and stately manner, in order to conjure up the image of the gently flowing water rocking the protagonist into an eternal sleep. Des Baches Wiegenlied serves the same role as Der Leiermann, and while they both provide a very bleak conclusion to a song cycle, Des Baches Wiegenlied should create a mood of peaceful sadness and sorrow, rather than the dark desolation of its Winterreise counterpart; it is, after all, a lullaby.This classic Schubert song has been arranged for voice and acoustic guitar in order to provide an alternative accompaniment option for singers who want to perform Schubert’s lieder with guitar instead of piano.

It was released in January 1978 as the second single from their fifth studio album ABBA: The Album. The song has been featured on a number of ABBA compilations such as Gold: Greatest Hits.The working title of Take a Chance on Me was Billy Boy. Written and recorded in 1977 by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, it opens as a cold intro and was sung by Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, with Fältskog delivering the solo passages. It has a constant uptempo throughout the entire recording. It was one of ABBA's first singles in which their manager Stig Anderson did not lend a hand in writing the lyrics, firmly establishing Andersson and Ulvaeus as a songwriting partnership.The song's origins sprang from Ulvaeus, whose hobby was running.
