But not many people know, that Bach himself has made an orchestral arrangement of the piece, called Sinfonia BWV 29 (as a part of Cantata 'Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir'). And I have made a transcription of it for a guitar duo. The tonality is different (as in Bach's orchestral version), but you can change it easily by applying a capo on 2nd fret. Also, it is possible to perform prelude in arrangement of your choice and add a second guitar with a capo. It will fit perfectly! If you thought Prelude BWV 1006 is fun, try this version out, cause this is really fun!

Published by Ted Stanley (A0.1456676). Bach presented this music in at least two versions. It opens the Cantata, BWV 156, as a Sinfonia in F played by oboe and strings. It also appears in Ab in the Harpsichord Concerto (BWV 1056) where the string accompaniment is, interestingly, all pizzicato. There is speculation of a lost Violin Concerto in G minor where this movement would have been set in Bb.I have set it in A, mostly due to my guitar instincts, but violinists seem to prefer it in Bb. The original manuscript is dated 1723. They were first written as 'Praeambula' and 'Fantasiae' in a collection for his son Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, and later rewritten as musical exercises for his students. The fourth Invention (BWV 775) is in D Minor, but the key has been transposed for this duet arrangement.
