Published by Petey C. (A0.873898). This is an edit for trombone of an arrangement I made for horn quartet, with a couple tiny changes. Geared toward university students and professionals. May be a bit difficult for beginners and even intermediate players. The key has been altered to make it in a slightly more comfortable range for trombone, although it maybe sits a bit high in the melodic parts and a bit low in the bassline at times. Melody and bassline get switched around a lot between parts. Makes it more fun and interesting, but requires some skill in all ranges by all players. Doesn't go below a low E, so you should be able to play without a trigger, but I've been told it can get squirrelly down there without one for some players, so... yeah.I had some consultation with a couple trombone player friends about how to best adapt my horn quartets to trombone, but I'm not a trombone player, I'm a horn player, so if you purchase this and notice any errors (notational, range, clef, etc.) that could be pretty easily fixed, let me know! Welsh actor, director, film producer and composer Anthony Hopkins has won many awards in his long career, including two Academy Awards, four BAFTAs, two Emmys and the Cecil B. Demille Award. In 1993 he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the arts. In a 2012 interview, Hopkins stated, I've been composing music all my life and if I'd been clever enough at school, I would like to have gone to music college. As it was, I had to settle for being an actor. His compositions cover a wide range of genres. And The Waltz Goes On dates from 1964 but was not performed until 2011 when André Rieu and his orchestra premiered the piece in Vienna. This arrangement for SSAB or SSSB Clarinet Quartet is suitable for a variety of programs and concert settings. It is both challenging and rewarding to play and should appeal to a wide audience. The Carnival of Venice is based on a Neapolitan folk tune called O Mamma, Mamma Cara and popularised by violinist and composer Niccolo Paganini, who wrote twenty variations on the original tune. He titled it Il Carnevale Di Venezia, Op. 40. In 1829, he wrote to a friend, The variations I've composed on the graceful Neapolitan ditty, 'O Mamma, Mamma Cara,' outshine everything. I can't describe it. Since then, the tune has been used for a number of popular songs, such as If You Should Go to Venice and My Hat, It Has Three Corners. The tune was also used as an endless song in Australian schoolyards: A doggy stole a sausage, cos he was underfed The butcher saw him do it, and now that doggy's dead And all the little doggies, were very sad that night They built for him a tombstone, and on it they did write... – repeated, ad nauseam, to the tune of Carnival of Venice, sometimes only stopped by the ringing of the bell to return to class. A series of theme and variations has been written for solo cornet, as show off pieces that contain virtuoso displays of double and triple tonguing, and fast tempos.

Published by Bismuth (A0.1489652). This lovely little choro has been arranged as a duo for two instruments. The second part fills in for the traditional guitar line that goes with the cavaquinho. It should be played at a fast clip, like most choros of this type. Almost any two instruments can do it together, I've done it with two cornets or a cornet and a viola. A little percussion adds, but is not necessary.

This is a romantic, very effective arrangement of one of Gershwin´s greatest songs: “Bess, You Is My Woman Now†from “Porgy And Bessâ€. Very well known as it is, it is rarely played. If that would be due to a lack of professional arrangements for piano trio/quartet/quintet – that need should now have been put right ;-) Inspired by the wonderful version with Anne-Sophie Mutter and the great André Previn (hence the video).
