Small Ensemble Baritone Recorder,Bassoon - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.842528 Composed by Various (Collection). Arranged by B. Brennan. Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 32 pages. Bl_music #5289953. Published by bl_music (A0.842528). 12 Solo Quadrilles for Bass RecorderOriginally written for small orchestras or piano, our arrangements for solo Bass recorder work so well that it is hard to believe that the pieces weren’t written for the recorder in the first place. This edition of stunning, not too difficult, but fun solos is the ideal companion or addition to the 25 Progressive Studies for Bass Recorder and a great album of show-stoppers for professionals and students alike.Quadrilles were fashionable dances of the late 18th to19th Centuries, performed by four couples in a rectangular formation. They consist of four to six movements (or contredanses, courtly versions of English country dances that had been taken up at the court of Louis XIV and spread across Europe.) and became a craze during the 19th century.Though hundreds of quadrille sets were composed in the 19th , the names of the five parts (or figures) remained the same, as did the steps and the figures themselves:Le Pantalon , L’été , La Poule , (Trénis ), La Pastourelle , Finale This collection includes:· The Rats· Learning to Dance· Wide Awake· Melbourne· Polly· Osborne· Lancers’ Quadrille· Chevalresque· Fireman· Les Girards· Palermo· Caledonian

DvoÅ™ák: Largo from the New World Symphony for Bass Flute & Piano
Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549430 Comp…
(+)
Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549430 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and individual part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3494193. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549430). Score: 7 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 3 pages. Duration: 4:25 Not difficult, but requires sensitivity & dynamic control. Suitable for recitals, church meditations, or school programs.  Dvořák Background AntonÃn Dvořák (1841 –1904) was, of course, a composer from Czechoslovakia. As a matter of fact, he was among the first Bohemian composers to attain universal recognition. It is important to realize that the late Romantic Nationalist period featured composers who used traditional and folk elements to portray the character of their nation. In particular, we see this in the music of Grieg (Norway), Finland (Sibelius), and Smetana (Bohemia).  Dvořák relied markedly on rhythms and other characteristics of Moravian and Bohemian folk music. Ascent to Fame Dvořák was truly a child musical prodigy on the violin. The premiere performances of his compositions notably occurred in 1872 and 1873. He submitted his First Symphony in particular to a German competition, but it failed to win. Consequently, in 1874 he presented two more symphonies to the Austrian State Prize for Composition. Johannes Brahms was the principal of the jury and was accordingly very impressed. They forthwith awarded the prize to Dvořák in 1874, 1876, and 1877. At this point, Brahms thereupon endorsed Dvořák to the publisher Simrock. Later, the publisher commissioned Dvořák to compose the Slavonic Dances, Op. 46. These became popular overnight and, as a result, Dvořák's worldwide status was launched. International Status Dvořák visited England upon invitation nine times. On each visit, he frequently conducted performances of his own compositions. He conducted concerts of his music, especially in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Eventually, the Prague Conservatory in fact appointed Dvořák as a professor. There, to be sure, he wrote his famous Dumky Trio. United States Consequently, the National Conservatory of Music of America appointed him as director in 1892. As a result, Dvořák composed his two most famous symphonic works: the Symphony No. 9 (From the New World), which spread his name universally, and his Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, one of the most famous of all cello works. Moreover, he wrote his most celebrated American String Quartet during this time. At the same time, because of his growing recognition in Europe and his homesickness for his own country, he left to return to Bohemia in 1895.

FOREST TALES (pieces for classical guitar in unequal time signatures)
Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1399445 By V…

Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1399445 By Vasil Belezhkov. By Vasil Belezhkov. Arranged by Vasil Belezhkov. 21st Century,Children,Classical,Folk. Individual part. 26 pages. Vasil Belezhkov #982729. Published by Vasil Belezhkov (A0.1399445). FOREST TALES is a collection of 10 pieces that aim to acquaint classical guitar students with the unequal time signatures most commonly used in Bulgarian folk music  (starting with 5/8, all the way  to 15/8). Each of the pieces is aimed at mastering a certain technical element: the ‘Little Spider’ stretches the threads of its cobweb through a descending legato to an open string, ‘Dr. Woodpecker’ takes care of the bark of the trees through various percussion techniques, the ‘Fireflies’ glitter with the sound of natural harmonics, and so on.All musicians all over the world are familiar with dance forms like alemande and sarabande, menuette and waltz, tango and rumba, but how many of them are familiar with the different Bulgarian types of 'horo' (ring-dances)? Each piece in my 'Forest Tales' collection is predecesed by a text explaining which dances from which Bulgarian folk regions are typical for this or that time signature and how we are supposed to count the beats in it.I wish you a pleasant and fruitful time with this book!Vasil BelezhkovP.S. Some of the pieces also have piano transcriptions made by me.

He submitted his First Symphony in particular to a German competition, but it failed to win. Consequently, in 1874 he submitted two more symphonies to the Austrian State Prize for Composition. Johannes Brahms was the principal of the jury and was accordingly very impressed. They forthwith awarded the prize to Dvořák in 1874, 1876 and 1877. At this point, Brahms thereupon endorsed Dvořák to the publisher Simrock. Later, the publisher commissioned Dvořák therefore to compose the Slavonic Dances, Op. 46. These became popular overnight and, as a result, Dvořák's worldwide status was launched. International Status Dvořák visited England upon invitation all in all nine times.

Score and individual part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3494165. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549427). Ghost Dances (Wounded Knee, 1890) for Brass BandOriginally Composed by Roland Barrett, Arranged by Benjamin LauInspired by the tragic story of the Lakota Sioux massacre at Wounded Knee in 1890, Roland Barrett's original work features a soft and peaceful entry, followed by aleatoric sections with musical fragments to convey the imagery of a Sioux ghost dance, and a menacing, ferocious section with high speed and intensity to keep the audience on their toes. This brilliant and inspiring work has been adapted for brass band by BenthovenMusic. This arrangement still captures the same peaceful and free opening along with the rhythmic intensity and drive of the original but with a reduced percussion section and more brass. This is an excellent work for high school/university bands that shows strong musical capability, technicality, and endurance of the player. Small Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522264 Composed by Pierre Phalèse. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Christmas,Holiday,Renaissance. Score and parts. 26 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #6350391. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522264). GAILLARDE l’ESMERILLONNEGaillarde No 6, Premier Livre de Danseries (Pierre Phalèse, Leuven 1571) for Wind Instruments Pierre Phalèse (1510-1575) was a Flemish publisher and his First Book of Dances, an extensive collection of dances in four parts, was published in Leuven in 1571. They are attractive pieces and are sure to be popular at any concerts, public recitals or end-of-semester events. During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the gaillarde (or galliard) was a popular dance and a favorite of Queen Elizabeth I of England. This is the 6th dance in a set of 20 gaillardes in the original publication. This arrangement is scored for virtually any combination of conventional wind instruments with optional percussion and keyboard parts. The flexible arrangement enables them to be played by non-standard ensembles. The optional keyboard part enables you to use the piece as a solo or duet and trio for mixed instruments. This 4-part arrangement is presented in a single PDF file which includes the Full Score; Part 1 (C, B flat, E flat); Part 2 (C, B flat, E flat); Part 3 (C, F, B flat, E flat), Part 4 (C, B flat, E flat); Keyboard and Percussion. A piano sounds distinctly out of place in this music and a digital or acoustic harpsichord sounds more authentic. Most electronic keyboards have a harpsichord option. The score and set of parts come in a single PDF file. Some small modifications have been made to the inner parts in the original to facilitate performance. The percussion instruments used are similar to those found in elementary school music rooms and two players are required. Other percussion instruments may be added as desired. Dance music is intended to be fun, and we hope that this arrangement brings you just that.

These two Voltas are well-known and lively dances and sure to add some sparkle to any event. This piece is arranged for virtually any combination of conventional wind instruments and percussion, with optional keyboard part. They are all attractive pieces and are sure to be popular at any concerts or end-of-semester events. They are fairly easy to play too. The percussion instruments used are similar to those found in elementary school music rooms and two or three players are usually required. Other percussion instruments may be added as desired. Dance music is intended to be fun, and we hope that this arrangement brings you just that.
