Debut in the 2018 Acadia University Composer Recital.This Trio Symphony features a Violin, Cello and Double bass, in contrast to the original string trio layout to deliver full harmony. The piece possesses a structure deeply related to modern film scores through the use of rhythmic pulses and ostinatos, with a stable ritornello (theme) occurring throughout the six-minute performance. His style of writing could be described as - Adaptive Story Telling, allowing listeners to have their very own unique interpretations of what the music could be about while anchoring within reach of the composer's core idea. Silent Night arranged for piano trio (piano, violin & cello). The final verse features a re-harmonization of the melody. Silent Night Origins Father Joseph Mohr wrote the lyrics for a new Christmas Carol. He wanted the new carol for his Christmas Eve Mass. With only a couple of hours until the service, He asked organist and schoolteacher Franz Gruber to write a melody and simple accompaniment to go with the lyrics. The result is probably the most famous of all Christmas carols – Silent Night. First Performance Perhaps because the organ was undergoing repairs, or to make sure the accompaniment was easy enough, Mohr asked Gruber to write it for the guitar. Mohr played the guitar, and both Mohr and Gruber gave the world premiere performance at the Christmas Eve Mass in 1818 at St. Nicholas Church in Oberndorf in Salzburg. Original Score Eventually, the original score became lost, and consequently, Mohr's name was largely forgotten. Though the public originally recognized Gruber as the composer, many people over time began rumors that a more famous composer was responsible. Thus, they floated the names of Haydn, Mozart, and even Beethoven. Authorities eventually settled the matter when a manuscript in Mohr’s handwriting turned up in 1820. Consequently, we learn that Mohr wrote the lyrics in 1816, and Gruber composed the melody in 1818. Popularity Nonetheless, Silent Night is still very popular. Singers have performed this song in nearly every genre and in multiple languages. Perhaps the most famous version is the one Bing Crosby crafted. This version is the third best-selling physical single recording in the history of recorded music. This particular recording was released in 1935 and sold at least 30 million copies. Only two songs have ever sold more. Elton John released Candle in the Wind in 1997 and sold 33 million copies. The record for most copies ever sold goes to Bing Crosby. It consists of five movements as follows: 1. The Front Yard 2. Yeonji Gonzi 3. Joyful Dance 4. Waiting (Longing) 5. The Bride and Groom Movement 1, The Front Yard: In G minor in 8/12 time, it is a short song with a bright atmosphere. The front yard is a friendly place for villagers' gatherings and events. Movement 2, Yeonzi – Gonzi: In G major in 4/4 time, natural harmonics are used to describe the mysterious oriental atmosphere. The meaning of Yeonji Gonji is the red dot on the cheeks and forehead of the bride in a traditional wedding ceremony. Movement 3, Joyful Dance: 3/4 time B flat major, composed in ABA format, expressed the joy of dancing in Korea. Movement 4, Longing: In G minor in 6/4 time, we tried to express oriental waiting. Movement 5, The Bride and Groom : It is composed of 4/4 time and 6/4 time, and like the title of the title of Groom and Bride, it shows the contrasting character of liveliness and calm. It was composed in a rondo style that goes back and forth between D minor and F major. Attached musicfile is only 1st movement, it's just for a reference.

Very effective arrangement for piano trio (violin, cello, piano) with optional violin2, and bass. The arrangement follows the „straight eights“ versions of Mel Tormé (hence the video link) and Michael Bublé. It is more in a groovy, souly, and funky R&B style, and can thus be played also by classical musicians who are not necessarily experienced in swing jazz. Theme appears first in the violin (two times), goes then to the cello. Then, there is a chorus with room for optional solos with ad lib repeats, but you can skip this part and go right back to the theme (unisono violin and cello). This arrangement works either way. Comes with full score, as well as individual parts for all five instruments. Minimal instrumentation: Violin1, Cello, piano. Have fun with my arrangements! Corelli's first three Trio Sonatas make a great first step into ensemble music and the music of the baroque. Each sonata consists of four movements of varying lengths and difficulty, with equal interest in all parts. Oboe 1 goes up briefly to top F, but a lower ossia is given. If played as a bassoon trio, the top two bassoon parts spend most of the time in the tenor clef and are not for the faint hearted, but grade 8 players will be well rewarded. Parts may be mixed with the companion arrangements for flute, clarinet and sax ensembles.
