There are direct (if not always obvious) quotations to the following songs:       Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bellâ€Â       “Night Fever†by the Bee Gees       Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive†(Just had to be included)       Lipps Inc’s “Funktownâ€Â       and “Boogie Nights†from HeatwaveThe ancient dance form known as the pavane is, weirdly enough, the perfect pairing with the disco…in that their rhythmic structures easily go together, allowing me to spread the disco material around throughout the piece. In fact, the references to “I Will Survive†are in the slower pavane section, not the disco.The piece is basic A-B-A form (Disco-Pavane-Disco) with a fadeout ending…because in all my research I don’t remember finding a single disco piece that didn’t have a fadeout ending. It just wasn’t done. Please have some fun listening to this piece, because I had a great time writing it. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever written..pdf contains a complete set of score and parts. Pierre Phalèse (1510-1575) was a Flemish publisher and his First Book of Dances, an extensive collection of dances in four parts, was published in Leuven in 1571. They are attractive pieces and are sure to be popular at any concerts, public recitals or end-of-semester events. This is the first pavane in a group of six from the original publication. The pavane is a slow processional dance popular in Europe from about 1530 to the latter half of the 17th century. This arrangement is scored for virtually any combination of conventional wind instruments with optional percussion and keyboard parts. The flexible arrangement enables them to be played by non-standard ensembles. The optional keyboard part enables you to use the piece as a solo or duet and trio for mixed instruments. Some minor modifications have been made to the inner parts to facilitate performance. This 4-part arrangement is presented in a single PDF file which includes the Full Score; Part 1 (C, B flat, E flat); Part 2 (C, B flat, E flat); Part 3 (C, F, B flat, E flat), Part 4 (C, B flat, E flat); Keyboard and Percussion. A piano sounds distinctly out of place in this music and a digital or acoustic harpsichord sounds more authentic. Most electronic keyboards have a harpsichord option. Composed in 1899 whilst Ravel was being taught by Fauré, this charming work was originally written for solo piano and then orchestrated in 1910. Sharing a passion for Spanish customs, like one of his contemporaries, Debussy, Ravel composed and dedicated this elegant work for his patron, the Princesse de Polignac, and he probably performed the work at the princess's home on several occasions. There have been thousands of performances across the world since then and is consistently voted into the ClassicFM Hall of Fame each year. This arrangement for brass band retains the original key and features several flourishes for vibraphone, which should not be rushed.

Cavafy's Dream 'B' is for bassoon solo and 2 english horns. It was written as a parallel piece while I was working on 'Ithaca' for orchestra. It takes several elements from the orchestral piece and treats them as if they were part of a dream Constantin Cavafy might have had while writing his poem titled Ithaca. The work exists in four versions (original, 'A', 'B' & 'C'), all written for low pitched instruments. The duration is 3'50.
