The Overture A Midsummer Night's Dream is originally composed by the German composer Felix Mendelssohn, who was inspired by reading William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream. It was initially created as a piano piece for duet, intended for enjoyment with his sister Fanny. Notably, Mendelssohn himself later arranged it for orchestra in 1826 when he was just 17 years old.Fast forward 16 years, this piece took an unconventional path to composition. It was commissioned by King Wilhelm IV of Prussia at the time, and the overture became part of a larger work known as Incidental Music, where it was accompanied by other pieces, apart from the overture.The Overture A Midsummer Night's Dream begins with four chords that evoke a gentle breeze, as if beckoning you into the world of fairies, in line with the folklore that claims that on the eve of Midsummer (Walpurgis Night), fairies and witches gather for revelry. It then transitions into the theme of the fairy's fluttering wings, followed by the music of the Fairy King's palace, the lovers' theme, and passages for clowns and hunting scenes. Finally, it returns to the fairies, dancing and disappearing as if carried away by the wind.We have arranged this enchanting piece for a brass ensemble, featuring ten players (3 trumpets, 3 horns, 3 trombones, and 1 tuba). The 1st Trumpet part includes an optional switch to Piccolo Trumpet, but this is purely optional and not mandatory to perform the arrangement.Additionally, please note that the 3rd Trombone part is intended for the Bass Trombone but can also be performed using Euphonium or Tenor Bass Trombone.

Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889415). Dear music Lovers and Friends. Gnome`s Dream revealed in the2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry. Gnome`s Dream was designed to be performed by a group of five artists, or even seven, nine, one thousand or more! Any kind of diatonic Harp can be used to perform this piece. When playing the harp with the rest of the ensemble it might be better to perform it mostly as it was written. In the absence of a Double bass, than should the cello take its part. In the case of an ensemble with more artists where we have already formed a bowed stringed orquestra, The double bass while playing the introduction of the piece remains a soloist and it will than be reenforced with a cello while the other bowed instruments are also playing. It would be good to tune the E string of the double bass down to a D but if this is not possible than simply play the lower „D notes one octave higher. It is a perfect piece for a mixed group of early beginners and „early soloists, it is very easy to perform. It can be played by a group of five artists, as well as a complete string orquestra with harp. Some interpretation symbols where used in the score as a performance suggestion. Most of the score is left virgin to the interpretation of the artists involved, particularly the use of bowing and fingering. It is a very flexible piece that can be used in all kinds of events. The score For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entrywas written on Finale. The sound file For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry, was produced with samplers from Garritan, conceived as an audio support for the presentation of the score. This arrangement for brass quintet starts with the theme as adapted for the Disney film by George Bruns and then transitions to a setting that reflects the orchestral version by Tchaikovsky. The range is moderate except for the trombone, in which the melody ascends to c2 briefly. The notes are queued in the second trumpet if the range is not secure for the trombonist. Since this piece is often used in weddings, it may need to be shortened, so cadence points have been indicated in the parts for optional endings. The animated film “Sleeping Beauty†was released by Disney Studios in 1959, with the voice of Princess Aurora being sung by Mary Costa. In the Ballet, the waltz is No. 6 in Act 1. The arranger, Bob Coil, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of music, where he studied bass trombone with Betty Glover. Dr. Coil is the leader of the Bones of Cincinnatus trombone ensemble and the Polished Brass quintet in Cincinnati, OH.

Helena is therefore jealous of Hermia's beauty.

SCORE EDITIONS #892984. Published by SCORE EDITIONS (A0.1303410). This mélodie is the first in a set of three songs, opus 7, which also comprises Hymne and Barcarolle respectively. All three were composed between 1870 and 1877, then collected and published in 1878 under the title Trois Mélodies. Not originally conceived as a song cycle, these three songs acquired this opus number much later, in the 1890s. The poem for Après un rêve was loosely adapted from an anonymous Italian text by Romain Bussine. It describes, in the form of a dream, the imaginary flight of two lovers who are head over heels in love, although the last verse brings the dreamer inexorably back to harsh reality as dawn is breaking. In this version, the composition was arranged for Euphonium B.C. and Piano by Harry Walker.

This is the tenth volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. The arrangements are of moderate difficulty and the aims of this publication are to familiarise, entertain and educate guitarists (and other musicians) with a melodic repertoire of lasting aesthetic value, under the light of contrapuntal treatment. The thirty five volumes of this collection can certainly be printed on paper if so desired and there are a few pages in each volume, either blank or with photographs of various musicians, which can be inserted at will in any place for the correct ordering of left and right hand pages so that page turns can be avoided. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. Therefore the size of the staves is bigger than usual for ease of reading on a small screen but not big enough to exceed the limit of a two-page view. Rovshan invites guitar lovers to explore Russian music of the 19th century. Alexander Borodin (1833 - 1887), member of the famous Mighty Handful, wrote his Petite Suite for the piano. The four pieces presented in this collection barely utilize any of the piano's idiomatic techniques. Though unfamiliar to the guitar until the present day, the selected miniatures are wonderfully suited to its technical and timbral capabilities, especially Serenade. Thanks to the clearly defined genre of Nocturne, the vivid imagery of Reverie and the folk colour and bell-like melodiousness of In the Cloister, the four pieces, rich in quality and substance, will be a valuable contribution to the guitar repertoire. Anatoly Lyadov (1855 - 1914) used to joke that he could not stand more than five continuous minutes of music. The genius of musical miniature created his compositions to be laconic and refined in form, simple yet elegant. Lyadov's contemporaries called his pieces tiny pearls of finest finishing and compared the composer himself to a jeweler. His three preludes from op.36, op.39, and op.40, will become a fulfilling experience for the guitarist as the music explores the rich palette of the mysterious Russian soul, ranging from stormy aspirations to dreamlike, elegiac moods - expressed by the composer in but a few sounds.
