Guitar - Level 2 - SKU: A0.1486675 By Foo Fighters. By David Grohl. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. Contemporary,Pop,Rock. Chords/Lyrics. 2 pages. Brian Streckfus #1063740. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1486675). Key: B minorPages: 2The aim of this version was not historical accuracy. The aim was to create a great solo unplugged coffee-house version with no page turns, though it could still be really useful for any situation. The melody is left intact, some liberties with the harmonies were taken when there is singing. I'm very proud and happy with how it turned out, sometimes you get lucky and the sections fall perfectly into place (which is suprising since there are some odd 3 measure phrases in here). Features:1. Beginner friendly. The chords are so accurate to what the sheet music is doing, that you don't even really need to read sheet music to play this!2. Harmonies that take difficulty, style, voice leading, and melody into consideration3. Condensed lead sheet version that fits on 2 pages to avoid a page turn; yet it is packed with details and naunces.4. Beautifully engraved sections that visually make sense on the page.Tips:1. Measures 8-16 I named that chords as if both guitars were taken into consideration. I'm guilty of sometimes saying, Oh it's just a rock song with power chords, but then you look into the details, and the chords are actually quite jazzy.2. Maybe She sang needs a fermata?3. If a song is in B minor and never changes key, fret 1 will never happens! Be in position 2 for this song! That's why I didn't put fingerings in, they would have been as helpful as confusing.4. Maybe it's a given, but I recommend forcing melody notes on to the chord in one way or another. Sometimes I go on spurts of notating many complex chords to account for the melody, other times I just show one chord per measure but kind of assume that you'll make the guitar work more fancy with the melody notes. Maybe this is overthinking the arrangement, but there is great voicings I'm doing that I want to get across, but sometimes I won't do it because the score will get too busy looking. Just food for thought, depends on your agenda I suppose.

Celtic Harp,Folk Harp,Instrumental Solo,Lever Harp - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1493978 By Beka Wilson. By Beka Wilson. Contemporary,Folk,Multicultural,World. Individual part. 3 pages. Beka Wilson #1070588. Published by Beka Wilson (A0.1493978). I started writing this song in 2020, around when I began playing the harp more often and when I first started writing my own original pieces. It went through several iterations, but what started out as an experiment in mixolydian mode turned out to be a calming piece that celebrates just being still. So often we pack our schedules to the brim, and burn out trying to do all the things. Lately I've come to appreciate the value of just stopping to breathe, to pray, to just be in the moment. Sometimes the best music happens in the space between notes. Length: approximately 3.5 minutes, 3 pagesLevel: late intermediate as written, early intermediate if you edit out the mordents and other ornamentations

Instrumental Duet,Piano B-Flat Clarinet,Cello,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1284045 Composed by Spiritual. Arranged by Maria Thompson Corley. 21st Century,Chamber,Christian,Sacred,Traditional. 17 pages. Maria Thompson Corley #875217. Published by Maria Thompson Corley (A0.1284045). “Crossing Jordan†grew out of my daughter Kiana’s surprise request that I arrange a spiritual for voice, piano and cello for her senior recital. She received a degree in commercial music the year before COVID shut everything down, at a time before climate change made blizzards an anomaly here in Central PA. As a result, snow days still existed. I spent one of them doing the first draft of “Deep River,†her favorite.Later, I decided that if singers engage a cellist for a concert, they might like to program more than one piece for them, so I chose two more water-themed spirituals to complete the set. “His Name So Sweet†is a more meditative version of the song than I’ve generally heard. I wanted the piano, cello, and briefly the voice to imitate the fountain in the text. The mood is ecstasy, resulting from the fundamental change that baptism is meant to create. “Deep River†also includes “Michael Row The Boat Ashore†and “The Water Is Wide.†The latter isn’t a spiritual, however, taken together the message is that the river is deep, the water is wide, but with (the Archangel?) Michael’s help, Jordan can be crossed. “Wade in the Water†is one of the most well-known spirituals. I focus on the idea of escaping enslavement: the opening is quiet, furtive, maybe even nervous. The Moses in the text can be understood to be Harriet Tubman, who might urge escapees to wade in the water so pursuing dogs couldn’t follow their scent. In my mind, the ending symbolizes that the party has vanished, never to be enslaved again. The first instrumental version of “Deep River†was for trumpet and piano, performed by my sister, Alicia Thompson, and her son, Justin Griffin, during a church service in Atlanta shortly after I arranged it. After hearing a recording, I took borrowed her idea of adding a repeat (which she did to allow enough time for the ushers to take up collection). The clarinet, cello and piano version was premiered by the Isosceles Trio (Doris Hall-Gulati (clarinet), Sara Male (cello), and me (piano)). When Naima Burrs, violinist and conductor of the Petersburg Symphony, asked if I had any pieces for trio, I created a version for violin, piano and cello. The flute/piano/cello version may have been performed, but if so, nobody has mentioned it to me.

This edition: vocal/piano score. Initial release - opera - theater. Wagner Urtext Piano/Vocal Scores. Downloadable, Piano reduction. Schott Music - Digital #Q25918. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q25918). German. An important addition to our newly produced orchestral materials is the first publication of vocal scores of Wagner’s ten great operas, in every important version, based on the Complete Edition. * The score corresponds to the performance materials from the Complete Edition. * For practical use in rehearsal cues and bar numbers throughout. * The publisher has secured the services of renewed musicologists associated with the Richard Wagner Complete Edition who convey detailed information in critical forewords. * The forewords are given in three languages(German, English, French). * Uniform and attractive front cover designs with reproductions of paintings from the Wagner era underline the series design of the edition. DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (1842-1880 version) This piano reduction is based on the edition of Der fliegende Holländer from the Critical Complete Edition of Richard Wagner’s works (Richard Wagner, Sämtliche Werke [Collected works], Vol. 4, III-VI, edited by Egon Voss, Mainz, 2000f.) The primary source for this edition was the first print of the score dating from 1845 which had however been augmented utilising the sources of additions undertaken after 1845, meaning that this edition is actually a compilation of the final versions of all individual sections or relevant details. The overture for example dates back to 1860 whereas No. 1 appears in the version from 1864. What is however most significant is that the versions from the Collected Editions based on new sources is without doubt closer to the original than the score from 1897 edited by Felix Weingartner which had previously formed the basis for all editions and logically also for all performances.†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. Wagner, at the time a completely unknown Kapellmeister in France, trying to get a foothold in Paris, saw the opportunity for a stage work that would meet the fashion at the Paris Opera of performing several short works one after another. Der fliegende Holländer, conceived in 1840 and composed in 1841, seemed to him suited to the purpose. In 1841, even when Wagner no longer counted on a success in Paris, he still held to the conception of a one-act opera and offered the work to German opera houses under the title of “Romantic Opera in One Act and Three Scenesâ€. This version is set in Scotland, taking as the literary model for the opera Heinrich Heine’s novel fragment “From the Memoirs of Mr. Schnabelewopskiâ€, and the protagonists have English names. This version was never performed in Wagner’s lifetime. Beginning in 1842, the work went through a tale of constant revision: Even before the Dresden premiere (2nd January 1843) Wagner undertook fundamental alterations. He transposed the location from Scotland to Norway, changed character’s names as appropriate, divided the opera into three acts – not least due to considerations of scene changes – and transposed Senta’s Ballad from A minor to G minor. It was in this version that the score of the opera went to print in 1845. For a performance in 1860 he composed the later so-called ‘Tristan’ or ‘Redemption’ ending to the Overture. Until the very end of his life, Wagner contemplated a plan for a final score or a definitive vocal score: it never came to be, so that to this day, as with Tannhäuser, we still do not have Der fliegende Holländer in a final version. Based on the research conducted in the creation of the Complete Edition, our editions contain, in one case the original version of 1841, while the other essentially goes back to the first printing of the score of 1845, but with the addition of the source material for the retouchings dating from 1842 to 1889. VOCAL SCORES The original version of the opera was made available for the first time in a vocal score in 2005 (ED 8065). The completely revised new edition of the vocal score of the 1842-1880 version appeared in 2011 (ED 20531).

Lussing #2958031. Published by S. W. Lussing (A0.923846). Every artist who has ever entertained us with this classic Hoagy Carmichael creation has jumped right to the chase, that being the verse that begins with Geor - gia,.. Wikipedia refers to the missed component as, the commonly excised introductory verse. Well, I took a good look at that introductory verse, and concluded that there was a pretty good reason nobody sang it. It needed more work than the writers had put into it, in my opinion, which is a nice way of saying that it sucked. So I fixed it, so to speak. I believe that it stands up to scrutiny. The melody line throughout has some modifications in note lengths. It is a piece originally written in cut time, which it isn't really, since it is always being sung in a moody fashion you don't normally expect to find written in 2/2 time. I think maybe that Hoagy had a secret desire to write for movie musicals.I adapted the chord diagrams to make them more suitable for playing along with on the guitar. This arrangement will appeal to anyone who has ever studied Mickey Baker's jazz guitar chords. As I see it, every song is still a tune and should be fun to play. Georgia is no exception.

DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (Original version) With this edition, the original version of Wagner’s opera Der fliegende Holländer [The flying Dutchman] WWV 63 is made available to the public for the first time in piano score form. The score on which the edition is based was published in the Richard Wagner-Complete Edition 1983: Richard Wagner. Collected works Vol. 4, I-II, The Flying Dutchman. Romantic opera in three acts (original version 1841), edited by Isolde Vetter (Schott Music International, Mainz, RWA 104-10/RWA 104-20).†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. The ballet was composed in 1916–17 for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The ballet premiered on Friday, May 18, 1917, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso, choreography by Léonide Massine (who danced), and the orchestra conducted by Ernest Ansermet. The ballet was remarkable for several reasons. It was the first collaboration between Satie and Picasso, and also the first time either of them had worked on a ballet, thus making it the first time either collaborated with Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes. The plot of Parade incorporated and was inspired by popular entertainments of the period, such as Parisian music-halls and American silent-films.Much of the settings used in Parade's plot occurred outside of the formal Parisian theater, depicting the streets of Paris. The plot reproduces various elements of everyday life such as the music hall and fairground. Before Parade, the use of popular entertainment materials was considered unsuitable for the elite world of the ballet. The plot of Parade composed by Cocteau includes the failed attempt of a troupe of performers to attract audience members to view their show. Some of Picasso's Cubist costumes were in solid cardboard, allowing the dancers only a minimum of movement. The score contained several noise-making instruments (typewriter, foghorn, an assortment of bottles, pistol, and so on), which had been added by Cocteau (somewhat to the dismay of Satie). It is supposedthat such additions by Cocteau showed his eagerness to create a succès de scandale, comparable to that of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps which had been premiered by the Ballets Russes some years before, and caused no less scandal.Although Parade was quite revolutionary, bringing common street entertainments to the elite, being scorned by audiences and being praised by critics, nonetheless many years later Stravinsky could still pride himself in never having been topped in the matter of succès de scandale. The ragtime contained in Parade would later be adapted for piano solo and attained considerable success as a separate piano piece. The finale is a rapid ragtime dance in which the whole cast [makes] a last desperate attempt to lure the audience in to see their showThe premiere of the ballet resulted in a number of scandals. One faction of the audience booed, hissed, and was very unruly, nearly causing a riot before they were drowned out by enthusiastic applause. Many of their objections were focused on Picasso's cubist design, which was met with cries of sale boche.Prestidigitateur chinois (Chinese Conjuror) is no 1 in the ballet, and includes some of the odd percussion : sirens in addition to normal orchestral perc. The piece can be performed without percussion....but the percussion gives it an extra something!!

Small Ensemble Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - SKU: A0.978194 Composed by Jason A. Heald. Contemporary. Score. 16 pages. Call of the Wild Publishing #6265333. Published by Call of the Wild Publishing (A0.978194). THREE LABE SONNETS for mezzo-soprano and piano is a collection of settings by Louise Labé, (1520-1566), a female French Renaissance poet. Labé was fluent in Latin and Italian, and a trained musician. She wrote twenty-four sonnets. TRANSLATION Sonnet VIII - I Live, I Die I live, I die, I burn with fire, I drown. It matters very little what I feel; All life is now too real, now too surreal; Joy comes and endless boredom weighs me down, And suddenly I laugh and then I cry; With grief and bliss I’m weeping for the past; Good feelings go away and yet they last, And suddenly I bleed and then I sigh. That’s how it goes. Strange, ever changing love Has worn me out. I wish I were removed From such a star-crossed fate! I need a truce With Lady Luck. Again and yet again, Her wheel is spinning madly to produce This wanton, wild, intense, exquisite pain. Sonnet XVIII - O Kiss Me O kiss me, kiss me, re-kiss me, and kiss! Be reckless, impudent, hot-headed, bold! O woo me! Pursue me! Kiss me like this: And I’ll give back fifty as hot as red coals. There, is it hurting? Come, let’s soothe the pain. I’ll give you sixty others just like these. And so we’ll kiss again and then again, While we enjoy each other at our ease. I know there’s fire within your unshaped clay, And so, allow me, love, to share my happiness: O let’s make burning passion rule today. I’m fond of doing what I love to do, Yet cannot feel supreme delight unless I have my other wild encounters, too. Sonnet XIV - As Long As Tears As long as tears can well up in my eyes I’m saddened that our nights are marked by pain. And now my voice expresses once again A plaintive melody I’ve improvised. As long as I can pluck the lute, I try To sing about your charms in my refrain. As long as I can think, my fevered brain Is burning with an ardent zeal. I cry And cry a hundred thousand times for you. But when I feel my whirling thoughts grow still, And when both hand and voice won’t work their will, Because your treachery is piercing through My heart, I’ll know there’s just one final way. I’ll ask for Death to darken that bleak day.

Instructional. Score and parts. 129 pages. Dots and Beams #5313621. Published by Dots and Beams (A0.931838). This book provides its user with a series of notes on a bass staff with no rhythm values and no meter. Chapters are organized by the placement of the notes relative to the staff; on the staff, above the staff, below the staff, on and above the staff, and on and below the staff. For each pitch range there is one chapter with no accidentals and one chapter with accidentals. All exercises have a space at the beginning of each staff to write in a key signature, allowing each exercise to be read in all keys and used in many ways. The aim with this book is to allow the user to focus specifically on exercises centred around pitch without the distraction of rhythmic values or time signatures. This can begin with the practice of sight-reading but can expand to include many other learning goals. The diatonic sets contain notes with no accidentals or key signature. These collections can be read as written, using only natural notes, or in any of the 15 key signatures from 7 flats to 7 sharps. Chromatic collections include sharp and flat notes as well as natural ones. The later exercises in these chapters increase the difficulty by including B#, Cb, E#, and Fb. Ledger line chapters start with the first ledger line and gradually expand away from the staff. Exercises above and below the staff extend to the space just beyond the fourth ledger line. The random nature of the notes in these exercises is intentional; it forces the user to pay attention to each note and makes the exercises very difficult to memorize, ensuring that they will still present a challenge even after multiple readings. It’s important when sight-reading to cycle through the exercises quickly rather than dwelling on a single exercise for a long time. This will ensure that you’re strengthening your ability to read the notes rather than just memorizing the exercises. Some suggestions for how to use this book include: Gain comfort reading the notes and finding them on your instrument in no particular rhythm or tempo. A greater challenge can be achieved by playing them at a steady tempo or by playing them in a simple rhythmic pattern. Beginner students can begin by writing in the note names. Play each exercise in all 15 key signatures. Advanced theory students and improvising musicians can also use these exercises to practice identifying scale degrees in various keys or playing chords built on every scale degree in the chosen key. Develop comfort with chords by playing a chord built on each note in the exercise. For example: for each note in the exercise, play the major chord with that root. Increase the difficulty with different chord qualities or different chord tones, for example: for every note, play the minor 7th chord in which the given note is the 3rd. Practice transposing into different keys. This is an especially useful challenge for people who play transposing instruments such as brass and woodwind instruments. Chapters with wide ranges can present a great exercise for musicians who play instruments where large leaps are a challenge. People who play strings, mallet percussion, piano, woodwinds, and brass would be among those who would benefit from practising these awkward leaps and falls. As with any of the Dots and Beams books, the uses for this particular collection are limited only by the imagination of the musician using it. I highly encourage anybody using this book to find as many uses for it as possible. My hope is that as you grow as a musician you will find ever more creative and challenging ways to use these materials so that you can return to these books for years and still find a valuable way to use them.

Large Ensemble Voice - Level 4 - SKU: A0.869357 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 95 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #15877. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869357). Instrumentation: 2222-4231-timp-2perc-hp-pf-strings. Program note: First of all, a huge embrace for Max Hobart who has been so very supportive by promoting and premiering new works for the orchestra. Since 1991, I have written three works for Max and the Civic Symphony Orchestra of Boston. Symphony No. 4 ... War and Peace is my fourth contribution and this work is dedicated to Max. A year ago, John Finney and the University Chorale of Boston College premiered my Mass for the Holy Year 2000. It was a millennial commission by the Jesuit Institution for the community of Boston College. For that occasion I had originally planned to write a Mass whose texts would include both the Latin from the Ordinary of the Mass - Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus & Agnus Dei - and poems concerning the atrocities and senseless killing in warfare during the last century. However, as it turned out, the poems I chose ended up reflecting the Latin text, which is all about faith and redemption. But I still wanted to write an anti-war symphony. When I approached Max with this idea, he was very excited. Initially he was a little concerned that I might want to use the Tolstoy novel as my inspiration. I assured him that it would not be a four-hour symphony. In order to convey a political message through a symphonic work, texts set as songs are the most direct way. For this symphony, I have narrowed my focus to poems written by veterans of the First World War - some euphemistically call it the Great War. The first poem by Rupert Brooke, The Soldier, has an uneasy, patriotic cheerfulness to its message. The second poem by Wilfred Owen, Dulce et decorum est, is a more realistic view of warfare. Dying for one's own country is not so cool when the dead and the dying are staring at your face!!! The third and last poem by Ivor Gurney, To his love, reflects on the aftermath of war: peace, but at what cost!!! Rupert Brooke (1887 - 1915) died on a naval expedition near the Greek island of Gallipoli. He died of blood poisoning. Wilfred Owen (1893 - 1918) was wounded three times in France in the spring of 1917 and was sent back to England to recuperate. He returned to the Front, and was killed on November 4, 1918, just a few days before the Armistice was signed. Ivor Gurney (1890 - 1937), a composer as well, was acutely sensitive to the horrors of the war and, after being wounded and gassed in 1917, he was sent back home to a mental hospital. He died twenty years later without ever recovering from the traumas of war.Audio link: https://thomasoboelee.bandcamp.com/album/symphony-no-4-war-and-peace-2001

Choral Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - SKU: A0.824259 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mary Ann W. Snowball. Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 8 pages. Kevin G. Pace #431091. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.824259). A beautiful vocal solo paying tribute to all fathers. Music by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Mary Ann W. Snowball. Text: My father’s love was manifest when in his arms I laid. His strength would ever hold me tight, a bond securely made. My father’s love was shown to me each day when I’d confide. My father’s love still radiates. To him I’m ever tied. We’ve been together through the years; he gave me wings to fly. He taught me how to live my life and gave me reasons why. He often said to be my best, keep promises I heard, to show great kindness when I spoke, and of our God to learn. My father’s love extends beyond to all posterity, to ev’ry single grandchild now, plus new births yet to be. He wants each one to feel his love and know he deeply cares. My father’s love still multiplies and is so very rare. My father’s love is manifest up to this very day. His strength still holds me carefully in his respectful way. His special love is shown to me each time I hear his voice. My father’s love still radiates; he’ll always be my choice.
