Piano,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.1069981 Composed by Steven H. Boothe. Arranged by Ashley Ivers. Christian,Contemporary,Pop,Sacred. Full Performance. Duration 197. Boothe Publishing #4633733. Published by Boothe Publishing (A0.1069981). When I die I believe that I will simply enter a spiritual kingdom. I will be with other members of my family and friends that have believed and lived as I have. I believe that life does not end with the death of the mortal body. We existed as immortal spirit children of God before we came to this earth and took upon ourselves a physical body. I believe that we will continue to exist as immortal spirit children of God after we leave this body behind. I'm grateful for Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was killed by the Jews. He gave up His life so that God could show forth His power through Him by breaking the bands of death. Jesus Christ was the first fruit of the resurrection. He lives today and will live forever. All of us who have ever lived will become immortal both in body and in spirit through His atoning sacrifice.God promises 1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all men die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. I believe.

Mysterious Moment for oboe and string trio
Small Ensemble Cello,Oboe,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576733 …
(+)
Small Ensemble Cello,Oboe,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576733 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 7 pages. David Warin Solomons #90581. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576733). Mysterious piece in octatonic mode, originally written for the short story The Door The pdf file contains score and parts. The sound sample is an electronic preview. High up on the grassy hill behind the town there is a door. It stands there in its frame with nothing before or behind it. It is locked shut. There is no key. We climb the hill each day. We play each side of the door, games of hide and seek. But we cannot go through the door. Each day we go there during this long sultry summer holiday. We are fascinated by the structure. Why would anyone put a door up there, in its frame, eternally locked, with nothing before or behind it? Maybe it is all that remains of an ancient house? We play, we wonder, we laugh and play, and we return regularly to our homes in time for tea. Then, one day, as we climb the hill for the umpteenth time, a lady dressed in white arrives before us. We watch her take the key out of her bag and insert it in the lock. We are too far downhill to catch up before she closes the door behind her. As we arrive, puffing and panting, Steve knocks on the door. No answer. Dave knocks on the door more forcefully. We hear a distant swish of robes. Gloria knocks, perhaps a little more timidly as the swishing sound approaches. Estelle begins to knock in her turn and the door suddenly opens wide. We all gasp as we see the lady standing there in glistening robes. Her face is hidden from view by a white shawl, but her piercing eyes still show. Children, she says, welcome all. Do come in, please, the kettle is on. You are just in time for tea. We hesitate, as well we might. How can we come in when there is nothing before or behind the door? But Estelle puts one foot inside and looks back at us with a curious expression of serenity on her face. We follow her. We look around at the new space beyond the door and at the parquet floor beneath our dew-soaked feet. As our eyes become accustomed to the brightness of the interior we catch sight of many signs of the world we have entered, but only fleetingly. They pass before our eyes in an instant and then flee beyond the range of sight. There is a staircase, a hat stand, a distant gleam of an ancient cooker, a faint whiff of scones and boiling jam. As we walk inside, our senses are overwhelmed with the new reality, we are rooted to the spot. Do please sit down, says the lady with a slight catch in her throat. We are seated on wooden chairs along one side of an oak table, although we cannot recall how we got there, some slip of the memory perhaps. We have no sense of foreboding, Estelle's serenity has passed to all of us. We can stay here eating scones and jam until the end of time. The lady removes her shawl and reveals a face as beautiful as anyone's mother's. Her deep black eyes glisten like obsidian. She beams a smile of welcome and pours the tea. I'm glad you have come. I've been expecting you, she begins. You must have a thousand questions, so do please ask away. Well, says Steve, what is this door that we passed through? Is this another world? There is no other world, the lady replies, this is the only one. But there is! There is! starts Dave excitedly, Look!. He gets up quickly from the chair, knocking it over in his haste and rushes to the door to open it. He pulls at it with all his force and reveals a black nothingness behind it. We were on the hill, where's it gone? he shouts, what have you done to it? There is no hill. But you climbed the hill in front of us says Gloria. There is no hill. Even Estelle of the serene demeanour is beginning to look worried. How did we get here then, how did you get here, she asks the lady nervously. We have all been here since the beginning of time, the catch in the lady's throat is becoming more evident. No, we have our families down there in the town cries Estelle You have no families,.

Bach: Wachet auf for Bass Flute & Piano
Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549846 Comp…
(+)
Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549846 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Concert,Easter,Sacred,Standards. Score and individual part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3554877. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549846). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the voice is calling us) from Cantata BWV 140. Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 6 pages, solo part 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Program this for church services during the Easter season, weddings, or as a recital encore.Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers Awake Bach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. It is based on the hymn of the same name by Philipp Nicolai (1599). The hymn text covers the readings for the 27th Sunday after Trinity. Bach designed the cantata in seven movements, setting the stanzas in various forms. Among these forms are the chorale fantasia, the chorale prelude, and a four-part chorale. He casts the new lyrics as recitatives – in a manner similar to the opera. Fourth Movement Bach writes the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen (Zion hears the watchmen singing), in the style of a chorale prelude with the chorale phrases performed as a strict cantus firmus. The phrases seem to enter at times erratically against the famous lyrical melody. The violins play this melody in unison as a foil against the cantus phrases. The violin melody is so independent and complete that when the cantus melody appears it catches the listener at times totally off-guard. Bach later transcribed this movement for organ (BWV 645). This transcription became No. 1 of the Six Schübler Chorales. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio. History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer. Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV. &n.

Published by MJIC Music Publishing (ASCAP) (A0.934204). Elemental Spiral is the result of some of my recent work linking elemental aspects of esoteric. The work begins with an electronic prelude, and moves to the instrumental portion at about 4:00.healing and vibration (sound). The concept of matter and form being integrally connected and influenced/formed by sound has been studied since ancient times, and myths from various world cultures mention gods or beings that could manifest form from matter through their voice. Recent work by Hans Jenny verifies the connection between sound and form (see Cymatics).Similarly, the power of music to affect response in individuals is a popular subject of ancient and modern writers. My interest in the work stems from observing how people react to my music, in which I believe certain thoughts and feelings are somehow encoded, transmitted and received during performance. My research stems from a desire to increase my own awareness of sound, its affect, and to connect this to my art. The integration of dance with the music creates a visual relationship that marries the sound and its intention.Elemental Spiral maps elemental associations (earth, water, fire, and air) to the musical context in a deliberate fashion. At this stage my associations are fairly literal, and various qualities (i.e. earth=slow, fire=energetic, air=fast frenetic) are mapped directly onto musical material. The associations become richer when one state changes to another or comes into being (water->air, becoming earth etc.) and when various qualities are mixed (air-pitch with earth rhythm etc.).The intended effect is an overall balancing of the musical structure with desirable or pleasing proportions (the age old compositional question). This balancing is well known to all of us, for instance-elementally-much of Beethoven’s music moves between water and fire elements (mapping of speed and pitch), and the tempos of symphonic movements fast-slow-med. fast-fast is an affirmation that a balance of tempi and musical content is found to be pleasing.I express my deepest gratitude to Donald Laney who choreographed the dance for this work. He was somehow able to convert my musings into movement and in the process far exceeded my expectations. Special thanks also to the WV Commission on the Arts and the NEA whose support made the creation of this work possible.Elemental Spiral is suitable for advanced performers.Performance materials available for purchase from the publisher: mjicmusicpublishing@gmail.com

Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1128114 Composed by Igor Korneitchouk, Chad Mealey. 20th Century,Comedy,Contemporary,Spiritual. 28 pages. Studio at the Post #728730. Published by Studio at the Post (A0.1128114). Duration: variable for each piece, 18 pp. Description: Seven works by the group touch me hear. Feel the art hear the art be the art. At the turn of the century (20th to 21st century, for you music history buffs) Igor Korneitchouk and Chad Mealey formed the group touch me hear with friends Dennis Aman and Jim Soe Nyun, and, with technical and musical assistance of various music faculty and students of San Diego Mesa College, presented concerts of new conceptual music/conceptual art/performance art. (The taxonomy and distinctions between such categories can be debated; we leave it to those who like to create new theory to follow our new practice.) The group was dedicated to the idea that such new music can and should be presented to an appreciative yet unsuspecting audience that rises to the challenge when put to the test. Indeed, a major feature of many of the works exhibited relies on the performance by the audience to entertain us and themselves. Thus, down comes the fourth wall. If you truly listen, as John Cage would encourage, the conceptual can sound just as fascinating, the visual display just as spectacular, the serendipitous theater just as dramatic, as the idea is imaginative. “Music is all around us, if only we have ears...†(to quote John Cage). Here are some of the original works of those concerts. Ironically, one in particular dispenses with the idea of an “audienceâ€. It is the tree that falls in the forest (or desert) no one hears. NO RECORDINGS OF ANY OF THESE PIECES EXIST; BE THE FIRST TO RECORD THESE!

Acoustic Guitar,Electric Guitar - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488812 Composed by Brian Streckfus. Instructional,Singer/Songwriter. Educational Exercises. 12 pages. Brian Streckfus #1065662. The seven modesThis collection of PDFs is something I am very proud of and I believe it has been my most well recieved PDF upload on the internet. Finding chord charts that simply list chords are a dime a dozen, and can be found anywhere. It is much rarer for a chord sheet to try to explain what order they go in and even rarer still to find it for guitar. It's difficult because it is an art, and of course there really is no wrong answers in composing (especially on Halloween I always joke). I personally haven't seen anything else quite like this on the internet. Many music theory books seem abstract and impractical whereas these chord charts show music theory applied to guitar. The aim is to memorize them so that you can understand them in all 12 keys. These chord progressions are of course a great composition aid. Tips:1. I find sheets like this to be excellent practice to play by ear. If the music is relaxing I play blue chords, if it is intense I play red chords. Once you get into the groove, and you know no one is changing key, it's as simple as that.2. When playing by ear, even if you get the exact chord wrong but you still get the correct color, it will still sound like you harmonizing the song correctly!!! See chords categorized by purpose rather than name will elegantly simplify how music actually works.3. The reason why we study the roman numerals is to be able to think about all of music in a single keyless key to allow for optimum clarity.4. One issue that needs to be fixed: what to do about the 11 other keys? One easy and quick fix is to use a guitar capo (or downtune) to get to all the other keys. I can't imagine giving out 56 pages of chord progressions to each of my students, it's way too much. Instead, I teach strategies on how these work in all 12 keys. 5. Order = Blue, Yellow, Red, Blue for stereotypical chord progressions that truely progress. These is such a thing called a chord succession where it is not the previous order. Again, try not to see music in terms of right and wrong. Everything expresses an emotion. For example, if there is a song devoid of red chords, it will result in more peaceful music. Lots of red would be great for metal music, etc...Social Media:https://allmylinks.com/brianstreckfushttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100078682133421https://www.patreon.com/brianstreckfushttps://www.brianstreckfus.comhttps://www.facebook.com/classicalguitar2015/https://twitter.com/BrianStreckfushttps://www.instagram.com/brianstreckfus/https://www.youtube.com/user/woodenboxengineerhttps://www.facebook.com/Doppelganger-106026062029620/https://www.linkedin.com/in/brian-streckfus-9b334a92/https://steemit.com/@boxengineerhttps://d.tube/#!/c/brian0streckfus0guitarhttps://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/en-US/Search.aspx?query=Brian%2BStreckfushttps://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/brian-streckfus-sheet-music/3027331https://belairmusicstudios.com/product/brian-streckfus/https://soundcloud.com/streckfusclassicalguitar.

Baritone Horn TC,Euphonium,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.552847 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3468186. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552847). J. S. Bach BWV 508  Score: 5 pages, Solo part: 1 page. Piano part: 2 pages. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo. He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.  Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.  Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands      Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy are the St. John Passion, and indeed the Christmas Oratorio. Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined.

Accordion,Double Bass,Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.1068890 Composed by Lars Ek…

Accordion,Double Bass,Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.1068890 Composed by Lars Ek. Folk,World. Full Performance. Duration 259. Lars Ek Cosmos Music c/o Musik & Underhållningsskrädderiet AB #1921479. Published by Lars Ek Cosmos Music c/o Musik & Underhållningsskrädderiet AB (A0.1068890). Something quite astonishing has happened in the Swedish accordion world during the last couple of years, we´ve got a new idol. It´s astonishing in two different ways: for us who know the accordion world it´s a fact that Lars Ek has been around as a professional accordionist for almost 20 years, since he finished school, second: he has become an idol playing music and in a style that has it´s roots 50 years back in the accordion music history. One could say that Lars Ek, today 35 years old, should have been 85, active in the 30´s. Himself, he confess that he feels kind of secret longing back to a time when accordionists were equilibrists, when accordionists played in a brilliant way, the golden age it was for all accordion music all over the world, an age that we will never meet again. It´s a type of music which is historical but not belonging to the museums, not dead, it´s a typical of music filled with life. Very much so thanks to Lars Ek. It´s a quite notable situation. Lars Ek has been playing the accordion for a long time, he has been playing all types of music that can be played on an accordion. Just some few years ago he met, via phonograph records, the music of Nils Lind and Ragge Sundquist (two legendary Swedish performers from the 30´s and the 40´s, both dead since long ago - they both founded a school and a style) and, of course, also Frosini. And then, finally, Lars Ek felt that it was exactly here, in this style where he belonged. Lars Ek finally came home. Some sloppy listeners say that Lars Ek is copying the music of Nils Lind. Those are listeners who don´t listen. Others say that Lars is a maniac - he plays on an accordion of the Raggie Sundquist brand from 1937 and since a couple of years he also owns and plays an accordion once owned by Pietro Frosini, manufactured in 1927. That´s not mania. The style asks for such instruments. It´s most correct that way. Lars Ek has become incredibly popular. There are many reasons. He has lots of personality, he is a stage personality, he shows enthusiasm and joy while performing, he knows how to attract an audience (and the girls say he´s very handsome). One other reason is that the music Lars performs finds lots of response from the audience. And, please, don´t think it´s only those old ones who were around in the 30´s who love the music - so do even the young ones! Lars Ek x 2 is the name of the record. The explanation is simple. Lars wasn´t able to find a second accordionist to assist him. So, thanks to the technique he is his own second accordionist himself in five of the tunes performed. There is one more explanation. Lars performs melodies linked to the names of Nils Lind, Ragge Sundquist and Frosini, but he also plays five compositions of hes own. Just to show how he wants accordion music to be composed. Lars Ek does not need any recommendation, his records sell anyway. But you´re going to get some final words. This records is, regarding style, very rare to be recorded in 1982, it´s a matter of looking back and to do so with lots of skill, a look back that golden age of the accordion. It´s also a very personal record. The inspiration may very well be Nils Lind, Ragge Sundquist and Pietro Frosini. But it´s Lars Ek who plays. In his personal way. Which means that this is a record played in a very personal way.

Contrabassoon,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549233 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Easter,Standards,Wedding. Score and individual part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3468784. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549233). J. S. Bach BWV 508. This arrangement features a specially revised custom accompaniment part that avoids unwanted collisions with the contrabassoon and revoices chords to avoid awkward doublings and other voice-leading problems. It accentuates the solo part very nicely. Â

Small Ensemble B-Flat Clarinet,Bass Clarinet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889423 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Luis Anjos Teixeira. Baroque,Christmas,Concert,Instructional. Score and parts. 8 pages. Luis Anjos Teixeira #3692949. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889423). The clarinet quartet arrangement of Break Forth, O Beauteous, Heavenly Light, was made for the 2018 Holiday Contest Entry. Martin Luther developed the Lutheran chorale, a religious hymn sung in four-part harmony by the congregation as part of the service. Break Forth, O Beauteous, Heavenly Light was written by Johann Rist and Johann Schop in the mid-17th century, so that by 1734, when Bach included it in his Christmas Oratorio, it was well known to congregations. The harmonization, however, is Bach ‘s own. The arrangement remains faithful to the original facsimile of Bach. It is transposed for a modern clarinet quartet. Variations in loudness and the duration of musical notes are the basic elements to musical expression. A few interpretation symbols where added to shorten some of the notes. Breathing between music phrases is notated. and the final was stretched with one more bar for a ralentando effect. This details are only suggestions for an interpretation. The piece is appropriate for beginner students or amateurs and without any doubt very pleasant to listen when played by an experienced ensemble. It can be used in concerts and all sorts of spiritual or religious events. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file. I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the music. Sheers! I wish you a Merry Christmas! „Brich an, o schönes Morgenlicht „Brich an, o schönes Morgenlicht, und lass den Himmel tagen! Du Hirtenvolk, erschrecke nicht, weil dir die Engel sagen: Dass dieses schwache Knäbelein soll unser Trost und Freude sein, Dazu den Satan zwingen und letzlich Frieden bringen. Words: Johann Rist (1607-1677), 1641; Verse 1 translated from German to English by John Troutbeck, circa 1885, et. al. Verse 2 translated by Arthur Tozer Russell, 1806-1874. Music: Ermuntre Dich or Schop, Johann Schop (1590-1667), 1641; Harmony by Johann Sebastian Bach, 1734. 1. Break forth, O beauteous heavenly light, And usher in the morning; O shepherds, shrink not with afright, But hear the angel's warning. This Child, now weak in infancy, Our confidence and joy shall be, The power of Satan breaking, Our peace eternal making. All blessing, thanks and praise to thee, Lord Jesus Christ, be given; Thou hast our brother deigned to be, Our foes in sunder riven. Connie Boss #6383925. Published by Connie Boss (A0.801666). This is a medley of 3 Christmas Carols - In the Bleak Mid Winter (English), Gesu Bambino (Italian) and The Snow Lay on the Ground (Irish). Venite Adoremus means O Come Let Us Adore Him, Christ the Lord. I thought it sounded nice to have it in SATB parts - taking turns between the high and low voices and then all together. This also includes a part for choice of flute, violin or cello to play along - all are included in purchase. cdboss@cvalley.netLyrics Below:O Come Let Us Adore Him(Venite Adoremus, Dominum) (Medley of In the Bleak Midwinter, Gesu Bambino and The Snow Lay on the Ground In the bleak midwinter, frosty winds made moanEarth stood hard as iron, water like a stoneSnow had fallen snow on snow, snow on snow.In the bleak midwinter, long, long, ago. When blossoms flower amid the snow, upon a winter nightWas born the Child, the Christmas Rose, The King of Love and Light. Venite Adoremus, DominumVenite Adoremus, Dominum Twas Mary daughter pure of Holy Anne. Thérèse Brenet: Poème de Jade, seven mélodies on Chinese Poems for baritone, flute solo and orchestr
Small Ensemble Flute,Medium Voice,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.532835…

Small Ensemble Flute,Medium Voice,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.532835 Composed by Therese Brenet. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 39 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #45421. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.532835). Thérèse Brenet was attracted to the Chinese poems in La Flûte de Jade by Franz Toussaint. She chose seven of these poems in a contrasting style and assembled them into a single work, striving to create an unusual orchestration which reflects this delicate, fantastic and sensual qualities of these poems. Her orchestration uses a small group of strings which are re-enforced by a harpsichord, a vibraphone, a harp and percussion, often superimposed, which serve to underline the delicate character of the poems. IN addition, she uses all styles of vocal production, from whispered passages to spoken words or screams, and from singing normally to sprechgesang. The work finishes serenely with a long melody in flute upon which the baritone repeats the last phrases of the poem in a long perdendosi. The voice and the flute slowly die away without there being a definite ending to the work, which allow the listener to imagine that the work continues, as in a waking dream. One could imagine hearing the echo of the words whispered by the baritone and the arien and luminous sounds of the flute which has lulled us as a soloist throughout the seven poems of the cycle. The orchestration is for 4 percussion, harp, harpsichord, piano and strings (44221). The piece generally lasts approximately fourteen minutes. The composer has intentionally broken with tradition by using instrumental notation for the vovcal part. This notations gives, in her view, a greater ease of reading when the voice exchanges with the flute. This version for flute, voice and piano is identical, as much as is possible, with the orchestral version, excpet for short segments in the 5th and 7th poems. These differences only affect the flute and piano parts and do not affect the vocal part. The Baritone may therefore use this score for performances with orchestra. The Flutist should use the part included in the orchestral parts for performances with orchestra. This work was first performed at the Villa Medicis during Thérèse Brenet time spend there during her Prix de Rome voyage. It was recorded in 2014 with Kurt Ollmann Baritone, Christel Rayneau, flute and the National Polish Radio Orchestra under the direction of Paul Wehage. The orchestral materials are on rental from the publisher.

Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1256884 Composed by Lon W. Chaffin. 21st Century,Chamber. 71 pages. LCS Productions #850272. Published by LCS Productions (A0.1256884). Imagine a place where cultures are blended and people of all races can laugh, play, sing, dance, and even pray together.  Colores is a musical tale in which children show us how to create such a place.A child walks on to a deserted playground, looking for others.  Another child joins.  They introduce themselves and begin to talk to each other.  A third joins the conversation, then another, and another, until there is a large group of children, creating a colorful, contrapuntal cacophony of vocal chatter.  After the introductions and lively conversations, they pause to decide what to do next.  As would be expected, they decide to just play.  They run races, play chase and tag, catch and kickball, and laugh and giggle until their energy is gone.  Settling down, and wondering what to do next, one child begins singing a tune that is familiar.  …but not to all of them.  So, it’s time to teach the song to everyone. The tune is shared, bit by bit, and one by one every child learns it and joins in.  Before it’s over, their full-voiced singing creates a choral tapestry in which every child adds his or her own color to the musical palette. After a brief conversation, they add their renewed energy to the song they just learned, pick up the pace, and dance.  They twist and spin, jump and swing, making up their moves as they go along.  But, as before, their energy wanes.  This time, as they settle down, one child feels so comfortable with these new friends, he chooses to share his faith in the form of a chant — a prayer. Some join his prayer, as others add a familiar religious tune.  They pray and sing, and their separate experiences combine to produce a stirring, blended chorale.  As they finish, the day ends and they quickly reminisce about the blended experiences that are now behind them.  Before they go their separate ways, they share a moment of gratitude for the place where they can be free to be who they are, together. On a musical note, Colores combines multiple scale structures and varying types of vertical harmonies to give the piece its color palette.  Each of the five voices is set in a different mode, with different tonal centers and sets of accidentals.  The harmony combines both traditional tertian chords with secondal, quartal, and quintal structures. The colors within the music are intended to represent the racial diversity of the borderland from which the composer drew his inspiration.  It is hoped that we can learn from the example of children who talk, laugh, play, sing, dance, and pray together.  …who are grateful for the time and experiences they share.
