Ten Traditional Spirituals for 8-note Bells and Boomwhackers® (with Color Coded Notes)

Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Multi-Percussion,Recorder,Ukulele,Voice,Xylophone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565165 By Sharon Wilson. By Traditional Spiritual. Arranged by Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Folk,Instructional,Praise & Worship,Spiritual. Score and parts. 80 pages. Sharon Wilson #3500119. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565165). This collection contains 10 traditional spirituals arranged for 2-part ensembles using only 8-note instruments. Each song in this collection is notated for handbells on one part and Boomwhackers® on a second part (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. For each song, there is a combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each individual part.Though this sheet music is notated for handbells and Boomwhackers®, these arrangements are playable by any 8-note, C major diatonic scale (one octave) instrument such as a xylophone or glockenspiel (though the color coding may not match). This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Handbells sold by Rhythm Band or KidsPlay also use this same color scheme (other brands may use different color schemes). Using color coded notes helps beginning musicians learn to read standard sheet music notation. This set of scores is also available (separate purchase) in black and white which will print clearer if you do not have access to a color printer. The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned two or three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one or two notes to each person. Instrument assignment suggestions are provided for each song.Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of each song. The staves are shown without sharps or flats for simplicity since even though some of the songs are actually written in the key of F or G major, no sharps or flats are used.Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers®   * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® * use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church* these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groups, children's ministriesEach of the 10 arrangements in this collection is also available separately with accompanying preview pages and audio samples. Brass Ensemble Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813720 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474569. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813720). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Trombone Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but if you are considering using this selection for church services in which a congregation may sing along, I would suggest that you look for the arrangements of either I Vow to Thee, My Country, O God, Beyond All Praising, O Spirit All Embracing or Thaxted, also by Regis Bookshar. They are all based on the same excerpt from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Trombone Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Jupiter based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gusta.

This sheet music collection of 20 folk songs is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). For each song, there is a combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each individual part. The songs progressively incorporate more challenging rhythms, some requiring rapid chord changes. Each song in this collection is presented in one of three ways as detailed below:1. Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords for 1 verse and chorus. 2. Two verses are included: The first verse is easy with fewer notes. The second verse is intermediate and expands the melody by adding more notes. Brass Ensemble Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.873898 By Bobby Darin. By Albert Lasry and Charles Trenet. Arranged by Petey C. Contemporary. Score and parts. 14 pages. Petey C. #6342295. Published by Petey C. (A0.873898). This is an edit for trombone of an arrangement I made for horn quartet, with a couple tiny changes. Geared toward university students and professionals. May be a bit difficult for beginners and even intermediate players. The key has been altered to make it in a slightly more comfortable range for trombone, although it maybe sits a bit high in the melodic parts and a bit low in the bassline at times. Melody and bassline get switched around a lot between parts. Makes it more fun and interesting, but requires some skill in all ranges by all players. Doesn't go below a low E, so you should be able to play without a trigger, but I've been told it can get squirrelly down there without one for some players, so... yeah.I had some consultation with a couple trombone player friends about how to best adapt my horn quartets to trombone, but I'm not a trombone player, I'm a horn player, so if you purchase this and notice any errors (notational, range, clef, etc.) that could be pretty easily fixed, let me know! I'll do my best to update this arrangement and correct any issues. I'm easily reachable by email, and my email address is on my website, peteyc.com. .

Brass Ensemble Euphonium - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813708 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474537. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813708). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Euphonium Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Euphonium Quintet, written in Bass Clef, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There is also a version for a Euphonium Quintet written in Treble Clef, if you would prefer. I'm certain that this beautif.

String Ensemble,String Quintet Viola - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813723 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474725. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813723). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Viola Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version, and this version for a Viola Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Jupiter based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Hol.

Published by Christopher Brown (A0.747194). About the song: This anthem begins by compelling the listener and the performer to consider the parable of the hidden treasure and the pearl. The second verse reflects on David's superlative description of God's Word in Ps. 19. In his letter to the Philippians, Paul speaks of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ when compared to everything else in this life. The lyrics of this song are intended to echo these Truths, encourage the believer, and testify to the incomparable gift of entering into the Kingdom of God, understanding His Word, and being strengthened and set free to do the good works that He prepared in advance for us to do.Can be performed with piano accompaniment only, OR with additional band members (rhythm chart included), OR with full orchestra. Please Note:You can purchase individual copies of the choral score separately on Sheet Music Plus.
