Small Ensemble Timpani,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.977354 By Foster & Allen. By Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Arranged by Des McNutty. Contemporary. Score and parts. 20 pages. Des Press #6438147. Published by Des Press (A0.977354). Part of the series: A Pulchritudinous Posy of Pleasing Party-PiecesA few fancies for five-part natural trumpet ensemble with optional timpani. Plus three trombones. At last: Some new repertoire for the historical natural trumpet! This one-handed instrument was familiar to composers such as JS Bach, Handel, Telemann, Purcell, Vivaldi etc., but was largely neglected after the invention of valves in the early 19th century - and the subsequent invention of the nodal vent-hole systems in the late 20th-century - until recently, when the elusive lost art of clarino playing (in the fourth octave and above) was cracked by dedicated optimists such as Don L Smithers and JF Madeuf. These arrangements are a stylistic departure from the trumpet's golden age of Baroque repertoire, featuring works well known in the 20th century, and provide excellent training for rhythmic precision, style, pitching and team playing. They're also fun, if you like that sort of thing. Advice on tuning up the differently-pitched instruments and a technical tip are included. The current regulations on SMP mean us little guys can only publish in-copyright works one at a time. So, you can collect them all and make yourself a tome! These arrangements were originally written for Lunchtime Tower Music (weather permitting), at the Dartington International Summer School between roughly 2000 and 2010, for courses led by Michael Laird and David Staff. Such performances from the mediæval clock tower involved the various brass and other wind classes playing seriously with an informal atmosphere. Logistical issues, a narrow staircase and the ubiquitous Health-and-Safety regulations prevented the use of timpani on the tower but sometimes larger groups, and those involving vertigo sufferers, played in the courtyard instead. These pieces are the opposite of playing Baroque music on modern, or postmodern instruments. Get them all now and enjoy a refreshing change!

Small Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784348 Composed by Joshua Hauser. Instructional. Score and parts. 74 pages. Slide Ride #5288731. Published by Slide Ride (A0.784348). 1 Octave Scale Studies in 15+ keys for 4-part ensembles of like or mixed instrumentsIf this is your first exposure to these scale studies, you are in for a treat! Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.· Choose a tempo.· Choose a dynamic.· Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!

Euphonium,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1178729 By Ben Folds. By Ben Folds. Arranged by Nathan Lee. Pop,Singer/Songwriter,Wedding. 18 pages. Nathan Lee #778691. Published by Nathan Lee (A0.1178729). Arranged for Tuba Quartet (EETT).The Luckiest by Ben Folds was on his Rockin' the Suburbs album that released in 2001. This arrangement is for a more advanced group of students, either talented high school students or a university ensemble. The arrangement sticks fairly close to the original arrangement in the beginning with each part passing around various parts of the piano riff that begins the song. However, after the intro, the verses and choruses that follow change who is playing the melody as well as vary the accompinament. The piece includes a wide dynamic array and still keeps the emotional core of the original song in tact.

Hymn tune This festive arrangement of the Coronation tune makes good use of bells and keeps ringers active throughout. After a short introduction, the melody begins in the treble clef but is not always the top voice and should be brought out. The piece then changes from G to C Major, and the texture becomes thicker and more stately. A gradual crescendo to a fortissimo ends the arrangement. It is 43 measures.

Drum Set,Electric Bass Guitar,Electric Guitar,Piano Accompaniment,Synthesizer - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105120 By David Kai. By David Kai. Arranged by David Kai. Christian,Contemporary,Folk,Rock. Full Performance. Duration 215. David Kai #708367. Published by David Kai (A0.1105120). This fun song was written when heart transplants were fairly new and still in the news. The song depicts the healing ministry of Jesus brought into modern times. Since people like to put music into categories, the style could be roughly described as being country/bluegrass/synth-driven/gospel pop, which might make it pretty unique! The song was first recorded by the Christian rock group, Whitestone. The Great Healer words and music by David Kai ©1980 I’ve had a heart transplant with a bit of a difference, it may seem rather odd No scalpel, no surgeon, no anesthetic, just between me and God And now a new life beats inside of me, it’s more than mere words can describe My heart keeps time to the rhythm of the Spirit inside Well I went fishing for the truth to life, but I opened up a can of worms False religions and philosophies, misleading me at every turn Well I soon realized that knowledge is fine, but it’s really just a place to start ‘Cause you can change your mind but it’s God that has to change your heart Chorus: Yes, he’s the great healer, in a world of pain and strife He’s the great healer, and he can mend a broken life And though your hurts be too much to bear He can heal your wounds with his loving care And give you a new life that will never die So if you feel that you’ve lost all your reason to live Good and bad look the same And you’re walking around more dead than alive Life clotting up in your veins Just end your confusion, accept a transfusion of love from the heavenly Lord And to your surprise you’ll find that you have been restored Chorus:.

Guitar - Digital Download SKU: ZY.DO-1546 Composed by Yorgos Nousis. Score. 9 pages. Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) #DO 1546. Published by Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) (ZY.DO-1546). SIX PIECES OF JOY AND MELANCHOLY is a collection of short pieces with a more melodic and in some cases rhythmic character. The pieces were composed individually for different occasions, but they work together somehow and offer the performer and the audience a roller-coaster sensation through the constant change of mood. Danceuphoria is the opening piece, an uneven, powerful dance which immediately creates an uplifting mood. Melodic Sorrow is a piece dedicated to the memory of my father, Konstantinos Nousis. It's one of the first pieces I wrote for guitar as a teenager. Here you can read an evolved version of that first piece which keeps the simplicity of the primary inspiration.Lifeness is an ode to life piece full of rich colors, melodies and harmonies. Meditation, originally written as the theme music for a Reiki Yoga YouTube channel, is a very slow and meditative piece with short melodic legato lines. Hope evokes warmer feelings. A simplistic piece based on natural harmonies that calms and soothes us.Finally, Cascading Waltz was chosen as the final piece, because it can be freely interpreted by any performer and gives the opportunity for diverse crescendos and accelerandos. The pieces can complement the repertoire of young students as well as professional guitarists who seek a modern yet melodic approach to the guitar.SIX PIECES OF JOY AND MELANCHOLY est une collection de courtes pièces au caractère plus mélodique et, dans certains cas, rythmique. Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.966751 Composed by STAR IN THE EAST (from The Southern Harmony). Arranged by Dillon Ekle. 20th Century,Christian,Christmas,Sacred. Score and parts. 9 pages. Dillon Ekle #3068529. Published by Dillon Ekle (A0.966751). Brightest and Best is an original piece based on the hymn tune STAR IN THE EAST (from The Southern Harmony), most commonly used with the text Brightest and Best of the Sons of the Morning. As such, the arrangement is well suited to use in the Christmas and Epiphany seasons. However, the tune's general appeal make it a great addition to worship in any season, as well as use in concert or recital settings. In addition to the main hymn melody, this piece is woven through with original counter melodies and rich harmonies. Through much of the piece, flowing, running 8th notes and rhythmic bass lines maintain motion beneath the soaring melody. The second verse slows down with a quarter note motif reminiscent of change-ringing bells, keeping an open and ethereal sound with building anticipation before the interlude melodies return in full force for the conclusion. Most of these features and ideas appear in both the secondo and primo parts in this 1-piano, 4-hands piece. Both parts are of similar difficulty, and because the melodies are found anywhere from the middle voices to the top voices, care is needed to keep the ensemble balanced at all times for a musical performance.A preview performance can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnIo4rnHizUThe PDF file is formatted to be printed double-sided. Once printed and bound, odd numbered pages (including the cover page) should be on the right (where the primo player sits), and even numbered pages should be on the left (where the secondo player sits). Alternatively, if two pianos are being used, the file can be printed single-sided and the parts separated out; the primo player will have the odd numbered pages, and the secondo player will have the even numbered pages.

Instructional. Score and parts. 124 pages. Dots and Beams #4269045. Published by Dots and Beams (A0.931832). Dots and Beams creates a wide variety of reading materials for musicians at all skill levels and for all instruments. The goal of Dots and Beams is to break music down into its elements and provide reading material focused on systematically developing each element in isolation. These books can be used in any number of ways and are an invaluable tool for creative musicians who enjoy inventing new exercises. In addition, these books make excellent, thoughtfully graduated sight-reading material for a wide range of ability levels from student to professional. This collection presents its user with a series of notes on a treble staff in the context of increasingly complex rhythmic material. The pitch material in this book is entirely diatonic with a space left at the beginning of each system in which one can write a key signature. Early chapters use only notes on the staff while subsequent chapters begin to add notes on ledger lines above and below the staff. Each chapter contains two exercises in each of the following time signatures: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, 9/8, and 12/8. This gives exercises in 2, 3, and 4 beats per bar in both simple and compound meters. From chapter to chapter the conceptual difficulty of the rhythmic material increases. The exercises in this collection are intentionally aimless, wandering, and difficult to internalize. They resemble standard melodies on the surface but don’t emphasize any particular tonal centre or harmonic movement. They are designed this way for several reasons. In keeping the melodic material as non-specific as possible the door is left open for the materials to be used in conjunction with any number of exercises, something that would be much more difficult with a composition that dictates the harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic phrasing. It also allows the user to read the exercises in any key signature, making this a great tool to help students learn to think in different keys. The unpredictability of these exercises also forces the user to process every note and rhythm as its own event without relying on pattern recognition or melodic and harmonic tendencies to help in figuring out the notes and rhythms. While I absolutely agree that the skill of predicting music’s direction from harmonic and melodic cues is an essential skill for any musician to develop, I think we will all agree that resources for this type of reading practice are already abundant. This collection, on the other hand, is designed to develop the user’s ability to process raw musical data. Once this skill is strengthened and internalized it is my belief that the act of reading more predictable and typically melodic music will be made much easier as the processing of notes and rhythms will be second nature, allowing the musician to focus on musicality. This book is a supplement to practising sight-reading using real music, not a replacement; I encourage you to use both. If this material is being used to practice sight-reading, it is encouraged to cycle through the exercises quickly rather than dwelling on a particular exercise for a long period of time. The goal in practising sight-reading is not to learn the material but to develop the skill of reading new material. Some suggestions for how to use this book include: Read each exercise in all 15 key signatures from 7 flats to 7 sharps. Practice key changes by writing in a different key signature for each system. Increase the challenge of the previous exercise by using a metronome on weak beats. For example, instead of putting the metronome click on each quarter-note in 4/4, play the exercise with the metronome giving the second eighth note of each beat, or the last sixteenth note, or beats 2 and 4. Be creative with this one, the possib.

Duration 128. Deborah Johnson #987388. Published by Deborah Johnson (A0.1404285). Deborah Johnson's Superwoman is a vibrant tribute to the incredible strength of women worldwide. This is the MP3 accompaniment track without the lead vocal--it includes the backgrounds. This upbeat and energetic song celebrates the everyday feats of ordinary yet extraordinary women. Drawing from her own experiences, Deborah navigates the complexities of managing a household, navigating career changes, raising three children, maintaining a marriage, and all the challenges life throws her way. Through Superwoman, Deborah captures the resilience and determination required to juggle multiple roles and responsibilities, resonating with listeners who understand the struggle of holding everything together. Purchase the single MP3 here: https://amzn.to/3PvNCHK The piano/vocal sheet music with vocal lead sheet is also available for download Note from Deborah: Are you embracing your inner superheroine? I get it—navigating life's hurdles while donning our invisible capes can feel like a whirlwind circus act. To claim the title of Superwoman, you've got to juggle the whole shebang: home life, career acrobatics, kid wrangling, spouse wrangling (or partner wrangling, let's keep it inclusive), and just the general chaos of existence. It's the kind of balancing act that'd make a Cirque du Soleil performer jealous! Speaking from the trenches myself, I've done my fair share of plate-spinning: managing a household, enduring the rollercoaster ride of a career (complete with loop-de-loops), wrangling three sons who seem to have synchronized their mischief, keeping a marriage afloat through the stormy seas and dealing with the curveballs life tosses our way. And let's not forget society's laundry list of expectations: staying fit, maintaining a Pinterest-worthy home, being the rock for our loved ones... and that's not even touching on the culinary escapades! And let's raise a toast to the single moms out there, pulling off the ultimate juggling act—balancing multiple jobs, raising the next generation of superheroes, and keeping the household shipshape. They're the Superwomen on turbocharged overdrive! It's no wonder that the song Superwoman resonates with us—it's our anthem, our battle cry, and our reminder that we're all superheroes in our own right! Guitar,Medium-Low Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1205814 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Simon James. Chamber,Classical,Opera. 11 pages. DML #803997. Published by DML (A0.1205814). This charming serenade is taken from Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni. Although originally a type of madrigal by the 18th century the term Canzonetta came to mean a song for voice and accompaniment, usually in a light secular style. The Canzonetta appears at the beginning of Act 2 of Don Giovanni. Wanting to seduce Donna Elvira's maid, and believing that she will trust him better if he appears in lower-class clothes, Don Giovanni orders Leporello to exchange cloak and hat with him. Leporello, posing as Don Giovanni, leads Donna Elvira away to keep her occupied while Don Giovanni serenades her maid with his mandolin - Deh, vieni alla finestra – Ah, come to the window. The original instrumentation was for mandolin and pizzicato strings and so transfers to two guitars very well. I have dropped the key from D to C as otherwise the baritone part is rather high and the key change makes it more comfortable. The guitar parts are not difficult but do need a really good sense of ensemble. I have altered the chord voicings occasionally to better suit the guitar and sometimes changed octave for guitar 1 which is essentially the mandolin part.

This arrangement adapted for woodwind trio was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. The transcription remains faithful to the structure, with only one change in tone, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as being used as an activity in ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Turkish March (Op. 113) is the 4th movement of the operatic work: The Ruins of Athens, a set of incidental pieces written in 1812 by Ludwig van Beethoven, where the melody was originally written in 1809 as Theme with Six Variations for Piano, Op. 76. The work was written to accompany the play of the same name by August von Kotzebue, for the dedication of a new theater in Pest. Perhaps the best known part of the composition is the Marcia alla turca, In Latin America, this movement became known in Jean-Jacques Perrey's version (who titled it The Elephant never Forgets) since it was used as the opening theme of the successful Mexican TV comedy El Chavo del Ocho. The opening and the turkish march are often performed separately, and the other pieces in this set are not often heard.
