Instrumental Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1121045 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Alexander Scriabin. Arranged by edited by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Classical. Individual part. 14 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #722236. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.1121045). Nocturne for Left Hand Alone (Classical Music for Tablet Series) by Alexander Scrià bin (Opus 9 Number 2) Classical Music for Tablet Series ♫ Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin [1871 – 1915] was a Russian composer and virtuoso pianist. Before 1903, Scriabin was greatly influenced by the music of Frédéric Chopin and composed in a relatively tonal, late Romantic idiom. Later, and independently of his influential contemporary, Arnold Schoenberg, Scriabin developed a much more dissonant musical language that had transcended usual tonality but was not atonal. He composed almost exclusively for solo piano and for orchestra. [condensed from Wikipedia October 2022] ♫ I was introduced to this piece by my piano teacher, Jenny Wong, after injuring my right arm and needing to rest it. ♫ Nocturne for Left Hand Alone belongs to the earlier period of his work. ♫ Edited for 10 inch tablet by Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ Performed by the Editor. Compositions for left hand alone are valuable in developing and testing phrasing in the left hand. The most beautiful tone quality will be elusive if the left hand is weak in technique or phrasing. ♫ The Classical Music for Tablet Series offers piano masterworks by classical composers formatted to be read on 10 inch tablets. I use an Amazon Kindle with Mobile Sheets Pro and an Air Turn blue tooth foot pedal to practice and perform piano music. Similar products available to provide other tablets the same functionality. ♫ The pieces in this series have not been arranged, but most have been edited slightly, and have been formatted to fit screen size. For example, in the tablet versions, first and second endings are often removed and the repeated measures and endings written into the music so the performer can avoid having to go back to previous pages. These kinds of section repeats were invented to spare the composer’s time and the cost of extra paper and ink. But with a tablet the cost of paper and ink is irrelevant. ♫ Although there are a lot more page turns with a 10 inch screen compared with letter size pages, the readability of the music (due to the backlighting on the tablet) and the portability of the music (travelling with a small tablet instead of oversized books or portfolios of sheet music) easily makes up for the extra page turns. ♫ Your purchase provides one .pdf file that contains both the tablet edition and the letter size page (printable) version. There are several programs available online that will allow you to separate this .pdf file into 2 .pdf files to make it more useful.

String Ensemble,String Quintet Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813972 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Instructional,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 7 pages. Regis Bookshar #6635865. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813972). String Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of Silent Night, or in German, Stille Nacht, would be a wonderful addition to any music library and could be performed for Christmas concerts, recitals, and, especially, church services. It is equally suitable for junior and senior high school students and even older musicians. Depending on their ability, younger musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (7 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Silent Night is probably the most popular Christmas carol ever written. It was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr and was first performed on Christmas Eve at St. Nicholas parish church in Oberndorf, a small village in present-day Austria. A young Catholic priest, Father Joseph Mohr, had written the poem, Stille Nacht, in 1816 and had gone to Oberndorf in 1817. The melody was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber, schoolmaster and organist in the nearby village of Arnsdorf. On Christmas Eve, 1818, Mohr brought the words to Gruber and asked him to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for that night's mass, after river flooding had possibly damaged the church organ. The church was eventually destroyed by repeated flooding and has since been replaced with the Silent-Night-Chapel.According to Gruber, Karl Mauracher, an organ builder who serviced the instrument at the Oberndorf church, was enamored with the song, and took the composition home with him to the Ziller Valley in Tyrol, Austria. From there, two traveling families of folk singers, the Strassers and the Rainers, included the tune in their shows. The Rainers were already singing it around Christmas, 1819, and once performed it for an audience that included Franz I of Austria and Alexander I of Russia. They also gave the first performance of the song in the United States in New York City in 1839. By the 1840's, the song was well known and was reported to be a favorite of Frederick William IV of Prussia. During this period, the melody changed slightly to become the version that is commonly heard today. The version of the melody that is generally used today is a slow, meditative lullaby, or pastoral, differing slightly from Gruber's original which has a moderate tempo. The song has been translated into about 140 languages and has been recorded by many singers across many music genres. The version sung by Bing Crosby in 1935, has sold over 10 million copies as a single. In this arrangement of Silent Night, Regis Bookshar has kept the basic form of this familiar Christmas carol, but has also included a descant during the third verse. Also, in addition to this version for a String Quintet, consisting of 2 Violins, 1 Viola and 2 Violoncellos, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for purchase. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Silent Night will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Small Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Voice,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565974 By Sharon Wilson. By Traditional. Arranged by Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Folk,Multicultural,Sacred,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 39 pages. Sharon Wilson #6610515. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565974). NOTE: This song has some tricky rhythms and may take beginners longer to learn and master. Those with a little music experience will probably have an easier time learning this arrangement and have a lot of fun with the unique rhythms. For beginning musicians or for introducing new players to Handbells and Boomwhackers®, I recommend starting with an easy song which uses only quarter notes and rests in the score such as God Is So Good for 8-note Bells and Boomwhackers®. SWThis sheet music is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided. To aid in the learning and teaching of this song or for use with other instruments (such as a Ukulele), chord names are included on the Boomwhackers® staff and score. Lyrics are provided on the grand staff for sing along enjoyment or when using this arrangement as the accompaniment for a unison choir. In addition, a complete set of scores for 4 ringers and 4 whackers is provided. Though there are multiple combinations for the number of ringers and whackers needed for any given performance, this extra set of scores is specifically designed for 8 performers with 2 or 3 notes assigned to each player. For each ringer and whacker, the 1-staff score shows only the notes they are assigned. This alternate score format may be easier to sight-read since the only notes on the staff are the assigned notes allowing the player to focus on rhythm.

Published by Gallagher Goodland (A0.1431507). GOD IS LIGHT (Verse 1)In the beginning, there was the Word, Heard and seen, touched by our hands, Proclaiming life eternal, our hearts stirred, The Word of life, our joy’s grand, stands one. (Chorus)God is light, darkness has no place, Fellowship with Him, our souls embrace, Walk in His truth, let sin be erased, His Son’s blood purifies, amazing grace. (Verse 2)From the Father, eternal life revealed, Testified, witnessed, the truth unsealed, Our fellowship with Christ, hearts healed, joy complete, His love forever sealed. (Chorus)God is light, darkness has no place, Fellowship with Him, our souls embrace, Walk in His truth, let sin be erased, His Son’s blood purifies, amazing grace. (Bridge)Confess our sins, His faithfulness true, Forgiveness flows, unrighteousness through, liar we become if sin we deny, His Word abides, our hearts testify. (Chorus)God is light, darkness has no place, Fellowship with Him, our souls embrace, Walk in His truth, let sin be erased, His Son’s blood purifies, amazing grace.

Regis Bookshar #926811. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1341239). Sing Joyfully - William Byrd - Brass Sextet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.William Byrd was the greatest British composer of the late Renaissance, and just maybe, the greatest British composer ever. He wrote a huge body of choral music, some of it profound and timeless. He also composed brilliant, virtuoso pieces and his motet-like anthem, Sing Joyfully, a polyphonic setting of Psalm 81, written in 1590, is perhaps his best-known one. It is enchanting to listen to and is fun to sing. Regis Bookshar thought that instrumental performers should have the same opportunity that singers have had for years, so he has now transcribed, edited and arranged this wonderful composition for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles, including this one for a Brass Sextet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets, 1 French Horn and 3 Trombones.Since no tempo is indicated and there are no written dynamic or phrase markings in William Byrd's original score, Regis Bookshar has taken the liberty to add them in order to provide direction and life to the piece. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students, and perhaps even some younger students. It is perfect for concerts, recitals and church services, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (27 pages). Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. Also, please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check back periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Williiam Byrd's magnificent anthem, Sing Joyfully, will continue to delight both performers and audiences alike for many years to come.

Piano Trio,String Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.966297 Composed by David F Golightly. Contemporary. Score and parts. 151 pages. Modrana Music Publishers Ltd #3002975. Published by Modrana Music Publishers Ltd (A0.966297). The Piano Trio no 1 was commissioned, premiered and recorded by the Fenice Trio in 2002. This substantial piano trio contained much of Golightly's symbolism and is festooned with the composers use of DFG codes. Stylistically, it represents a landmark in the genre development of Golightly, linked as it is to much of the melodic and harmonic language of his first symphony. I highly personal work it is only for the most advanced piano trios. The duration is 26 minutes. Score and parts.Review. Piano Trio Letters of Regret. (2001/2)David Golightly's piano trio Letters of Regret was commissioned by The Fenice Trio, composed during the summer of 2001 and completed in February 2002. The first performance took place at the Middlesbrough Theatre in June 2002. The work is in three movements (Demon, Angel and Regrets). Demon, the shortest movement of the work, opens with a rhythmical gesture from the piano, soon joined by the strings. This moderately fast movement is actually some sort of whimsical Allegretto sometimes of Russian flavour. Reviewing David's First Symphony, the composerArthur Butterworth remarked that Golightly might well be a British Shostakovich.Indeed, the Piano Trio calls the Russian composer to mind, particularly so in this slightly ironic movement that rises up to a short-lived ghostly climax abruptly cut short. Angel opens mysteriously with ethereal static string textures softly punctuated by the piano. Later, the string's sustained notes are gently accompanied by piano arpeggios. Then the strings, and later the piano, make some unsuccessful attempts at a tune, hesitantly so and with some glissandi contradicting the attempted melody. Eventually, the cello, followed by the violin, launches a sorrowful lyrical song, still disrupted by nervous interjections eventually short-lived.The Angel movement, though remains emotionally and harmonically ambiguous throughout. It too ends unobtrusively. The Demon and Angel movements actually act as a twofold introduction to the last movement. Regrets that is some sort of theme and seven variations, a series of letters, written but not sent,as the composer remarks. This predominantly lyrical, often nostalgic movement is the emotional heart of what is obviously a deeply personal statement on the composer's part. Golightly's Piano Trio is a superbly crafted, beautifully moving work, not unworthy its models(Shostakovich or John Ireland), and a highly personal, quite accessible work of substance that deserves wider recognition and that should be eagerly picked-up by trios willing to add a new substantial work to their repertoire.Hubert Culot. Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1156211 Composed by Traditional/Anonymous. Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Classical,Early Music,Folk,Traditional. Individual part. 46 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #756525. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1156211). This is the twentieth volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. The arrangements are of moderate difficulty and the aims of this publication are to familiarise, entertain and educate guitarists (and other musicians) with a melodic repertoire of lasting aesthetic value, under the light of contrapuntal treatment. The thirty five volumes of this collection can certainly be printed on paper if so desired and there are a few pages in each volume, either blank or with photographs of various musicians, which can be inserted at will in any place for the correct ordering of left and right hand pages so that page turns can be avoided. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. Therefore the size of the staves is bigger than usual for ease of reading on a small screen but not big enough to exceed the limit of a two-page view. Active internal links for navigating from thematic indexes to particular songs and back to indexes have been added, and also external internet links to sites that give further information for the 945 songs of this first collection for classical guitar.Volume 20 (Songs 514-540)Lancashire Peace Egging Song (1)Lancashire Peace Egging Song (2)Lancashire Processional MorrisLand of the Silver BirchLark in the Morn (the)Last Valentine’s DayLavender Cries 1Lavender Cries 2Lay the bent to the bonny broomLeave her JohnnyLeaving of Liverpool (the)Leezie LindsayLemondayLeprehaun (the)Let Me in this Ae NightLi’l Liza JaneLiberty for the SailorsLilliburleroLily-white Boys (the)LimboLimejuice Ship (the)Lincolnshire PoacherLinden LeaLinstead MarketLisbon 1Lisbon 2Lisbon 3.

In the past 6 years he has commissioned me to write two works for his ensemble, the Boston Landmarks Orchestra: 1) Mambo!!! (2003) 2) Pluto … The Lord of the Underworld (2005) This year, 2009, he asked me if I would be interested in writing a work for narrator and chamber orchestra like Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. I said, Yes. I would be delighted to do so. He told me that the subject for this work would be Boston’s own landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted. Sure, I said, why not? Charles told me he had a poet in mind who would provide the text, Nancy Stevenson. I said, Great! The work is in four parts, following Ms. Stevenson’s poetic design. I wrote a marching music in Part One depicting Mr. Olmsted when as a child he walked from his home to his aunts and uncles who lived far away. As a young man, Mr. Olmsted went through many jobs until he decided that as a landscape architect he could make cities a better place for children and adults alike. The mayor of Boston hired him to do just that, to make Boston more livable. In Part Two, I wrote presto music depicting the dredging of the Charles River and the planting of trees along its shores. In Part Three, the text describes the Boston Emerald Necklace – the paths that lead from the Fens to the Arboretum to Franklin Park. For this section I chose music that is bucolic and pastoral, a setting that evokes the country side with a flock of sheep, complete with a shepherd and his dog. In the last section the text describes Mr. Olmsted’s dream that in his parks there would be tranquility and rest to the mind … a place where the rich and the poor would play together. The music returns to the legato march that began the work.

Small Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Double Bass,Guitar,Piano Accompaniment,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522199 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Concert,Holiday,Jazz,Latin. Score and parts. 37 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3407717. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522199). These pieces are in jazz and Latin styles and are intended for intermediate students. This is a companion set to Let’s Go! but the music is technically more challenging. The pieces are intended for an end-of-term concert or recital but would be useful for any light hearted occasion. The 15-page piano score also includes the saxophone parts. The highest note in the 1st sax part is (written) D6 and that in the 2nd sax part is C6. Five-page parts for the two E flat alto saxophones are provided as well as an optional part for tenor sax, which is exactly the same part as the 2nd saxophone. In the piano parts the improvisation chords are shown only in the 1st alto part purely for the sake of visual tidiness, but they appear in all the saxophone parts. If the participants do not feel confident enough, the improvising sections can be omitted. The optional guitar and bass parts are combined and the bass part is similar to the left hand of the piano part. An MP3 file of all the piano accompaniments is also available as a separate item. You can find it here: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/20679714 All five parts are presented in a single PDF file. The three numbers are: 1. Highway South - This is a jazz style number written in 6/8 time in concert G minor. There is an improvisation section in the minor key which can be repeated as often as required. It’s a real swinger and useful for giving students the experience of working in a minor key. 2. Summer Siesta - This is a slow number in E flat major which gives the opportunity to practise a soft singing tone-quality over chromatic shifts in harmony 3. Tequila Surprise - Written in 4/4 time in E flat, this is a Latin-style fun piece that lets the participants create surprises during the empty bars. The surprises can be musical or non-musical, depending on the performance occasion and there’s an improvisation section which can be repeated as often as required. The audio sample contains all three titles. Play-along backing tracks are available here: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/20679714

Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1152799 Composed by Traditional/Anonymous. Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Classical,Early Music,Folk,Traditional. Individual part. 48 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #753038. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1152799). This is the tenth volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. Active internal links for navigating from thematic indexes to particular songs and back to indexes have been added, and also external internet links to sites that give further information for the 945 songs of this first collection for classical guitar.Volume 10 (Songs 244-270)Dilly Song 1 (the)Dilly Song 2 (the)Dives and LazarusDo you remember that nightDonkey RidingDorrington Lads (My Dearie She Sits Ower Late up)Doun the Burn DavieDowie Dens of Yarrow (the)Down By Sally’s GardenDown in the Meadows (O Waly Waly-variant)Down in Yon Forest 1Down in Yon Forest 2Dragoon and the Lady 1 (the)Dragoon and the Lady 2 (the)Dragoon and the Lady 3 (the)Dragoon and the Lady 4 (the)Drill Drill ye TarriersDrink To Me OnlyDrover’s Dream (the)Drowned Lover (the)Drowsy Sleeper (Arise, Arise-new setting)Drummer and the Cook (the)Drummer Boy of Waterloo (the)Duke of Marlborough (the)Dunster Carol 1 (I Hear Along Our Street)Dunster Carol 2 (I Hear Along Our Street)Dying Cowboy (the).
