String Ensemble Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813724 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474727. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813724). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Violin Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but if you are considering using this selection for church services in which a congregation may sing along, I would suggest that you look for the arrangements of either I Vow to Thee, My Country, O God, Beyond All Praising, O Spirit All Embracing or Thaxted, also by Regis Bookshar. They are all based on the same excerpt from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version, and this version for a Violin Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Jupiter based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav H.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813710 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474541. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813710). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Flute Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Flute Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Jupiter based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Hols.

Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a String Quintet, consisting of 2 Violins, 1 Viola (which has the lead), 1 Violoncello and 1 Double Bass, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553810). Beethoven wrote some music for Military Band, including 5 Marches. This is an arrangement of 2 of them WoO 18 &19 (works without opus numbers)From the name of the Prussian General Yorck, Beethoven's March WoO 18 is also known as Marsch des Yorck'schen Korps (Armeemarschsammlung II, 103, Bundeswehr (Armeemarschsammlung II, 37, Königlich Preußisch) and Heeresmarsch II, 5), was composed in 1808 in F major as a Marsch für die böhmische Landwehr.Often known in English as the Yorckscher March.Since Prussia and the Prussian army played a paramount role in the German states, the march is often played and is one of the most important German military marches. It is the traditional march of the Wachbataillon, the German Bundeswehr's elite drill unit, and is also played as the first march at the Grand Tattoo (Großer Zapfenstreich)[2] and it was a march of the East German armed forces. They are rearranged here for double wind dectet.Optional piccolo and bass will add depth to the sound.

Schubert's fun march in this version for wood quintet where it preserves the original essence of the work, can be played by intermediate and professional students. It is fully recommended for public, famous and military performances; not only, but also in concert halls. The Three Marches Militaires, Op. 51, D. 733, are pieces in march form written for piano four-hands by Franz Schubert. The first of the three is far more famous than the others. It is one of Schubert's most famous compositions, and it is often simply referred to as Schubert's Marche militaire. The Marches militaires were published in Vienna on 7 August 1826, as Op. 51, by Anton Diabelli. They are all in ternary form, with a central trio leading to a reprise of the main march. Â

Alto Saxophone,Instrumental Duet,Pipe Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1310541 Composed by Thomas Groh. Contemporary. 19 pages. Thomas Groh #899605. Published by Thomas Groh (A0.1310541). The title “Litanies†obviously alludes to Jehan Alain's piece of the same name, written for organ in 1937. Inspired by this outstanding and unique composition, I had the idea, some 20 years ago, to create a piece of music based on a theme resembling a litany, too (without pretending, of course, that I would be able to equal in any way Alain's masterful quality as a composer). The main theme was notated quickly, but in the years since then, many variants and secondary themes that came to my mind did not satisfy me. Thus, it took a very long time and many ample interruptions before in this summer, with some new ideas everything fell into place as if by magic. There also exists a version of this piece for organ solo (op. 3b).

Bass Guitar,Drum Set,Electric Guitar,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1376083 Composed by Mexican Folk Song. Arranged by Zoran Radanovic. Folk,Multicultural,Patriotic,Traditional,Wedding,World. 18 pages. Zoran Radanovic #960648. Published by Zoran Radanovic (A0.1376083). This very famous mexican folk song arrangement is for band with sets of parts (Bb trumpet, bass guitar, el. guitar. drumset).La Adelita is one of the most famous corridos of the Mexican Revolution. Over the years, it has had many adaptations. The ballad was inspired by a Chihuahuense woman who joined the Maderista movement in the early stages of the revolution and fell in love with Madero. She became a popular icon and a symbol of the role of women in the Mexican Revolution. The figure of the adelita gradually became synonymous with the term soldadera, the woman in a military-support (and sometimes fighting) role, who became a vital force in the revolutionary efforts through provisioning, espionage, and other activities in the battles against Mexican federal government forces.[1] However, the song, the portrait, and the role of its subject have been given different, often conflicting, interpretations. It has also been argued that 'La Adelita' expressed the sensitivity and vulnerability of men, emphasizing the stoicism of the rebellious male soldier as he confronts the prospect of death.[2] In another interpretation, the feminist scholar MarÃa Herrara-Sobek argues, Adelita's bravery and revolutionary spirit are lost to the fatalism and insecurities of male soldiers who are focused on passions, love, and desire as they face combat.[2]

Mariachi Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1405099 Composed by Traditional Mexican Folk Song. Arranged by Donald Jay Smith. Mariachi. Mariachi Band. 10 pages. Donald Jay Smith Music #988137. Published by Donald Jay Smith Music (A0.1405099). This is from a collection of pieces I originally arranged for my Middle School Mariachi Band at Curtis Corner Middle School in Wakefield, Rhode Island. Since that time, I have used these arrangements with all ages through college, pros, and especially two families that happened to have the correct instrumentation between the parents and their children. At the middle school, the strings were more advanced than the trumpets and I needed to deal with young string players only being familiar playing sharp keys and brass players only being familiar with flat keys. My solution for one of the first arrangements was in “Mexican Hat Danceâ€. I assigned the violins two simple double stops (their first double stops: one finger in low first position while bowing both the A and E string-the first finger on the E string is an F chord and first finger on the A string is a C7 chord). I split the four songs, two in flat keys two in sharp keys. The trumpets were assigned several unfamiliar pitches in the sharp keys like G#, but with plenty of repetition and not technically challenging figures except in the bridge of “Mexican Hat Danceâ€. I intended to cover that part of the song on my trumpet, but the trumpets always rose up and nailed it!The set we usually played included: “La Cucarachaâ€, “Cielito Lindoâ€, “De Coloresâ€, and “Mexican Hat Danceâ€, all available here (soon).
