Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1171219 Composed by Christopher Tin and Emily Dickinson. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. Contemporary,Film/TV. 21 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #771557. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.1171219). Christopher Tin is a contemporary composer who is best known for his choral piece called Baba Yetu.  With an impressive educational background in music composition, English literature, and art history, his compositions come to life with like nothing that I've experienced before. It is simply some of the most beautiful and expressive music I have ever heard.  The Lost Birds is a musical memorial to bird species driven to extinction by humans.  Tin’s soundtrack is a fantastic work of art, with its soaring musical phrases that make you feel like you’re flying. The Saddest Noise is a choral piece, with its lyrics taken from Emily Dickinson’s poem, “The Saddest Noise, the Sweetest Noise,†which talks of the relationship between beauty and grief. The saddest noise, the sweetest noise, The maddest noise that grows, The birds, they make it in the spring, At night’s delicious close.   Between the March and April line That magical frontier Beyond which summer hesitates, Almost too heavenly near.   It makes us think of all the dead That sauntered with us here, By separation’s sorcery Made cruelly more dear.   It makes us think of what we had, And what we now deplore. We almost wish those siren throats Would go and sing no more.   An ear can break a human heart As quickly as a spear, We wish the ear had not a heart So dangerously near.   The Lost Birds soundtrack was sung by the choral group, Voces8, who made the music and poetry come to life in a way that not many other groups could.  It is simply beautiful. This arrangement is scored for flute choir – 4 C, alto, bass, and contrabass.  There is an optional cello part that doubles the contrabass.  This is not a strict transcription - I added moving parts and changed/added notes to make it of more interest as an instrumental piece.  I hope you like it. Duration: 3.5 minutes.

Published by Lagom Music (A0.723494). This upbeat and empowering original song by composer Garrett Breeze is a synth pop-infused statement of confidence and joy full of catchy hooks and fun vocal moments. It was commissioned and premiered by the combined 7th and 8th grade choir of Sioux Center Middle School in Iowa. Sing until they hear you. Your word can lift someone that's low. Speak until they trust you. There's a song that only you can sing; so sing it! (We need your voice) There's music only you can dream. So let's sing loud! We don't need to wait for a chance to celebrate. So let's sing loud! We don't need to wait for our time. So let's sing loud! Your light grows brighter every day. Shine until they see you. Your heart will always lead the way. Love until they follow you. You're the only one who knows your voice; let's hear it! (So make the choice) Come on, it's time to make some noise! So let's sing loud together, friends forever, voices strong! We will rise together, help each other, sing our song!

Small Ensemble B-Flat Trumpet,Drums,E-Flat Alto Saxophone,E-Flat Baritone Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone,Trombone,Tuba - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1039375 Composed by Cindy Wilson, Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Keith Strickland, and Ricky Wilson. Arranged by Blake LaBarge. Rock. Score and parts. 39 pages. Blake LaBarge #644324. Published by Blake LaBarge (A0.1039375). Rock Lobster is a song written by Fred Schneider and Ricky Wilson from the band The B-52's. This song became one of their most iconic, launching the band's career. Rock Lobster is a fun, quirky, and energetic party song with a repeated driving guitar riff, a catchy melody, and even aquatic animal calls. My arrangement for brass band is inspired by the style of Lucky Chops, so even though this is a brass band, saxophones are involved. This type of brass band originated in New Orleans. Program Notes: -Drumset player, even though I've written a full part for you, the idea is that you play whatever you want, as long as it fits the style of the piece. Treat my part for you as a base, build off from it however you please. -Optional 8vas are HIGHLY recommended. These really enhance the arrangement. -Trumpet and Alto Saxophone, in your parts starting at J, it says to make aquatic animal noises with your instrument. Each time you make a noise, do something wildly different from before. Use any techniques such as growling, rapid tounging, enharmonics, etc. to achieve such sounds. -It's more fun when you memorize the music!

Large Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe,Percussion - Level 3 - SKU: A0.555864 Composed by Edmund Angerer - ascribed variously to Joseph Haydn, Leopold Mozart, Michael Haydn, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Rainprechter. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Children,Christmas,Classical,Standards. Score and parts. 52 pages. RayThompsonMusic #6047585. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.555864). This work was long reputed to be the work of Joseph Haydn, but later scholarship suggested that it was actually written by Leopold Mozart. Its authorship is still disputed, however, and other composers have been proposed as the symphony's true author, including Joseph Haydn's younger brother Michael Haydn, who purportedly contributed movements to the work.Recent research on a newly found manuscript suggests the Austrian Benedictine monk Edmund Angerer (1740–1794) to be the author. If Angerer's manuscript (from 1765, entitled Berchtolds-Gaden Musick) is the original, the Toy Symphony was originally written not in G but rather in C. These findings, however, are disputed among scholars. There is reason to believe that the true composer will likely never be known, in whole or in part, given its confused origins and the paucity of related manuscript sources.Even without a name attached to it, the piece has become a mainstay for children's shows and Christmastime concerts. Each of its three movements features the sounds of actual toys and instruments that sound like they came straight from Geppetto's workshop. The piece calls for a toy trumpet, ratchet, nightingale, cuckoo, drum, and triangle. ( A quail makes it’s only appearance in the 2nd movement.Noisemakers rattle throughout the first of its three movements. The cuckoo and trumpet  call out mischievously during the minuetto of the second movement , and a quail joins the nightingale in the trio. In the short third mvt which is played 3 times, they all play again, each repeat faster than the previous one.The presence of the toy instruments make this a fun piece for children to play, especially when there are also some toys waiting under the tree.My arrangement is based on the Kinder-Symphonie attributed to Leopold Mozart. It is scored in C.it is in 3 mvts and is arranged for double wind quintet, bass and toy percussion.i have distributed the original strings around the woodwind, and composed original classical horn parts.Sometimes known as Children’s Symphony.

A Clarinet,Bassoon,Double Bass,Flute,Oboe/English Horn,Percussion,Timpani,Tuba - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1300657 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Chamber. 27 pages. RayThompsonMusic #890400. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1300657). Arranged double wind quintet/bass and optional percussion. Background info:Parade is a ballet choreographed by Leonide Massine, with music by Erik Satie and a one-act scenario by Jean Cocteau. The ballet was composed in 1916–17 for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The ballet premiered on Friday, May 18, 1917, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso, choreography by Léonide Massine (who danced), and the orchestra conducted by Ernest Ansermet. The ballet was remarkable for several reasons. It was the first collaboration between Satie and Picasso, and also the first time either of them had worked on a ballet, thus making it the first time either collaborated with Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes. The plot of Parade incorporated and was inspired by popular entertainments of the period, such as Parisian music-halls and American silent-films.Much of the settings used in Parade's plot occurred outside of the formal Parisian theater, depicting the streets of Paris. The plot reproduces various elements of everyday life such as the music hall and fairground. Before Parade, the use of popular entertainment materials was considered unsuitable for the elite world of the ballet. The plot of Parade composed by Cocteau includes the failed attempt of a troupe of performers to attract audience members to view their show. Some of Picasso's Cubist costumes were in solid cardboard, allowing the dancers only a minimum of movement. The score contained several noise-making instruments (typewriter, foghorn, an assortment of bottles, pistol, and so on), which had been added by Cocteau (somewhat to the dismay of Satie). It is supposedthat such additions by Cocteau showed his eagerness to create a succès de scandale, comparable to that of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps which had been premiered by the Ballets Russes some years before, and caused no less scandal.Although Parade was quite revolutionary, bringing common street entertainments to the elite, being scorned by audiences and being praised by critics, nonetheless many years later Stravinsky could still pride himself in never having been topped in the matter of succès de scandale. The ragtime contained in Parade would later be adapted for piano solo and attained considerable success as a separate piano piece. The finale is a rapid ragtime dance in which the whole cast [makes] a last desperate attempt to lure the audience in to see their showThe premiere of the ballet resulted in a number of scandals. One faction of the audience booed, hissed, and was very unruly, nearly causing a riot before they were drowned out by enthusiastic applause. Many of their objections were focused on Picasso's cubist design, which was met with cries of sale boche.Prestidigitateur chinois (Chinese Conjuror) is no 1 in the ballet, and includes some of the odd percussion : sirens in addition to normal orchestral perc. The piece can be performed without percussion....but the percussion gives it an extra something!!

Satie: Parade - Final & Suite au Prélude de rideau rougeArranged wind dectet/bass (double wind quintet)The concluding music for Erik Satie's Ballet Parade.Other movements from Parade are available. The score contained several noise-making instruments (typewriter, foghorn, an assortment of milk bottles, pistol, and so on), which had been added by Cocteau (somewhat to the dismay of Satie). The finale is a rapid ragtime dance in which the whole cast [makes] a last desperate attempt to lure the audience in to see their showI have omitted the  percussion in my arrangement of the finale. The premiere of the ballet resulted in a number of scandals. One faction of the audience booed, hissed, and was very unruly, nearly causing a riot before they were drowned out by enthusiastic applause. Many of their objections were focused on Picasso's cubist design, which was met with cries of sale boche.Arranged wind dectet/bass (double wind quintet).

Small Ensemble Piano,Violin,Voice - SKU: A0.749811 Composed by Evelyn R. Larter, ASCAP. Arranged by Evelyn Larter Music. Christian,Christmas,Concert,Sacred. Score and parts. 5 pages. Evelyn R Larter #3388869. Published by Evelyn R Larter (A0.749811). With melody by J. B. Dykes and words by Edward Caswall, this lovely English carol from the 19th century is arranged for soprano, violin and piano. Its soaring melody and substantial text make it a perfect choice for Christmas concerts, or as a prelude or offertory in church services. The violin part could also be played on flute. The live recording has some background noise from a baby in the first minute or so, but it gets better, and is preferable to a MIDI recording! Two copies are required for performance. Its soaring melody and substantial text make it a perfect choice for Christmas concerts, or as a prelude or offertory in church services. I have provided a live recording of the high voice version, which I think is preferable to a MIDI recording - it has some background noise from a baby in the first minute or so, but it gets better! Large Ensemble Bass Guitar,Cello,Flute,Maracas,Piano,Triangle,Trombone,Voice,Woodblock - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1518277 By Rebekah M. Sweet. By Rebekah M. Sweet. Arranged by Rebekah M. Sweet. 20th Century,Classical,Folk,New Age,Traditional. 14 pages. Rebekah M. Sweet #1092376. Published by Rebekah M. Sweet (A0.1518277). “The Crow”Score and Instrumentation Explanations “The Crow,” is an Avant Garde piece that plays on musical timbres of instruments to represent sounds, feelings, and animals. Flute-represents a bird’s call.Trombone-carries the sound and theme of the crow throughout the piece.Triangle-is the soft sound of noises in the woods, that are so low that they are often not heard.Maracas-represents the rattlesnake’s rattle when he is disturbed and angry.Wood Blocks-represent the sound of the woodpecker.Bass Guitar-is the background of the piece and sometimes the edgy feeling one gets when walking in (what they thought) was an empty forest.Piano-is the crow’s call.Tenor Voice-is meant to represent a cry in the forest but is only included twice in the piece.Cello-Is also the background music but gives one the feeling of coldness creeping upon them. The piece is meant to be slow, and eerie; maybe to some it sounds spacey. The glissandos for the Bass Guitar are to be played when the guitarist hits the first note and uses a glass cup against the string and slowly move it up and down the string to make a weird vibrato like sound. The glissandos for the Trombone are mainly the echoes of the forest that surround the person. It’s the crow’s call being echoed. The Piano can play with the crow’s call starting out loud then fading or diminishing as it also echoes in the distance. Not to be played too fast. The Flute can get louder as it repeats its lines. The Triangle is soft but not too soft. It must be able to be heard against the other instruments. The Cello may use as much vibrato or screech sounds as it wants with the use of the bow.The Tenor may use as much legato as they want.
