This cantata tells the story of the Angel giving Mary news. Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem where Jesus was born. The Angels, shepherds and the three Kings following the star to find Jesus.This is just melody, optional flute on 3 songs and piano. Also available is a nice instrumental performance/accompaniment digital recording of the song by a string trio (violin, viola and violoncello), accompanied by piano, drums and bass (rhythm trio). The violin, viola and violoncello performed along with the rhythm trio, complex back and forth exchanges of melody vs. counter melody. A second melody, the refrain or chorus, significantly contrasts with the prior one (1st verse). The exchange is repeated (2nd verse). At the ending, the piece concludes with a layering of tones and a light stop. Included are leads sheets for three different keys: Bb, A, and G. See accompaniment tracks for this vocal solo - key of Bb (range low C to D), item no. S0.866387, and key of A (from low B to C), item no. S0.866401, are good for sopranos and possibly tenors. Key of G (item no. S0.866405) is good for altos and baritones.

Ar Hyd a Nos (All Through the Night) is a beautiful yet simple Welsh, traditional song. This arrangement is part of a new series which is specially designed for classroom music teachers. The arrangement is very flexible to suit the abilities and resources available to each individual group and their teacher. The instrumentation is: (1) The melody for C instruments (such as flute) (2) An easy part for C instruments (3) The same melody for B flat instruments (4) The same easy part for B flat instruments (5) The same melody for E flat instruments (6) The same easy part for B flat instruments (7) A single-line percussion part (8) A piano part which could be played by a pupil (approximately ABRSM Grade 3) or teacher (9) A ukulele part with chords, the melody and TAB (10) A guitar part with chords, the melody and TAB (11) A bass part in notes and TAB. This part could also be played by a cello, bassoon or any low-range instrument (12) The melody written in a higher octave for more-advanced players (approx. ABRSM Grade 3-4). In the absence of some of the above, the arrangement is still effective due to the doubling of the melody. The bass part can also be omitted as the piano plays appropriate root notes, and the guitar plays chords. The piece is presented in in two sections with a modulation. This arrangement for trombone quintet features the first and second trombone with the melody. The fourth trombone is largely independent, providing rhythmic motion in the phrases. The arrangement has similar range for the first and second trombones, and is set in a comfortable range for bass trombone. Chords are available in the bass trombone part and lyrics are in the first trombone part so this can be used as the basis for expanded solos. Irving Berlin emigrated to the United States in 1893 at the age of 5 with his parents, fleeing Jewish persecution in Russia. He died in 1989 with over 1500 songs to his credit.The published version of the song, A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody, was an excerpt from a longer version used in the Ziegfeld Follies. It was the hit song of the 1919 Follies and became the theme song. It was also used frequently in Miss America pageants prior to 1955. Berlin believed this song was in the top 5 of the hundreds of songs he wrote. The arranger, Bob Coil, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of music, where he studied bass trombone with Betty Glover. Dr. Coil is the leader of the Bones of Cincinnatus trombone ensemble in Cincinnati, OH.
