Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1169725 By Jessica Darrow. By Lin-Manuel Miranda. Arranged by Alex Wilson. Film/TV. Score and parts. 25 pages. Alexander Wilson #770090. Published by Alexander Wilson (A0.1169725). Lin-Manuel Miranda's song Surface Pressure from Disney's Encanto is one of the most popular Disney songs in recent memory. Â As performed by Jessica Darrow, the reggaeton hit reached #8 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and in this arranger's opinion, the driving rhythm and memorable melody also make for an excellent trumpet ensemble arrangement. This arrangement is for 8 Bb trumpets, and is suitable for a group of trumpeters at different skill levels. Â The first 4 parts are fairly challenging (mainly with regard to rhythm), and the 1st part requires a number of high C's and Bb's. Â These parts carry most of the melodic lines and are intended to be approachable by a talented high school trumpeter. Â Parts 5-8 are easier and mainly accompaniment, but still include plenty of variety. Â They are intended to be approachable by an average high school trumpeter or a particularly gifted middle school trumpeter.Performance time is around 3 minutes.

By Jon Schmidt and Jordan Schmidt. Arranged by David Holt. Contemporary. Brass Band. 87 pages. David Holt #5871437. Published by David Holt (A0.985299). This driving swing arrangement of Ding Dong, Merrily on High is based on a piano piece by John Schmitt, of The Piano Guys. It is in a lopsided 10/8 time signature and features the whole cornet section, who each have individual parts.North Pole Express has been designed to be played with the cornets standing in two choirs around the band. Two suggested seating plans are included, which will make the most of the featured instruments. This piece features solo passages for principal cornet and soprano, as well as fanfare sections where only cornets are playing. The soprano cornet solo is particularly challenging, so a slightly easier alternative version is included.Trombone parts in alternate clefs are provided, as well as optional additional cornet parts for large bands.

ISBN 9780193202603.For hardanger fiddle, either solo or accompanied by reed-organ and/or piano (live or pre-recorded) and instrumental quartet. The piece is a 'cut-up' of passages quoted from, or composed in imitation of, traditional hardanger fiddle repertoire. Some of the music is notated in detail and in full and some does not specify any particular order for the performance of the 'fragments' and leaves their ornamentation to the discretion of the player. There are two optional accompaniment-strands (either or both may be played if at all), consisting of slow-moving hymnody with a lot of gaps in he harmony.

Double Bass,Instrumental Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.552085 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Instructional,Standards,Wedding. Individual part. 2 pages. Jmsgu3 #6116385. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552085). The famous wedding classic arranged for Solo Contrabass.Duration: 2:12Score: 2 pages. The famous Pachelbel Canon arranged for Solo Contrabass. A great choice for weddings & receptions! Pachelbel's Canon Pachelbel's Canon is, in fact, the traditional title for a composition by the German composer Johann Pachelbel. Other names for the work include namely: Canon and Gigue for 3 violins and basso continuo, Canon and Gigue in D, and of course Canon in D. We do not know when or why in particular it was written. The oldest copy is surprisingly from the 19th century. It is important to realize that it was a common routine for organists to practice improvisation on the chord progression underlying the canon. Pachelbel originally scored the Canon notably for three violins and continuo. He also in fact paired the Canon with a gigue. The movements are homotonal, to clarify, both are in the key of D major. History In due time, Pachelbel's Canon went out of style and remained in virtual oblivion for centuries. The Jean-François Paillard chamber orchestra, however, recorded an arrangement of it in 1968. As a result, it gained approval. Many ensembles began likewise to record the piece in the 1970s and by the 1980s became ubiquitous as background music. From the 1970s to the early 2000s, pop songs correspondingly used elements of the piece. The chord progression, in particular, was used this way. Also, since the 1980s, it has been not only wildly popular for weddings, but also for funeral ceremonies in the USA and Europe. Pachelbel Background Johann Pachelbel (1653 –1706) was a German composer, as well as an organist. He was furthermore instrumental in bringing the south German organ school to its apex. He wrote a large body of music, both sacred and, equally important, secular. In particular, he uniquely helped develop the chorale prelude and fugue. For this, he has, in fact, earned a rightful place in the company of the most significant composers of the mid-Baroque period. Works Pachelbel's music was certainly popular. With this in mind, he also consequently had many pupils. His music expressly developed into a model for south German composers. Nowadays, Pachelbel is most famous, particularly for the Canon in D, as well as the F minor Chaconne, the Toccata in E minor, and of course the Hexachordum Apollinis, a set of variations for the keyboard. Influences Johann Jakob Froberger and Johann Caspar Kerll were south German composers who significantly influenced Pachelbel. Furthermore, he was especially influenced by Italians such as Frescobaldi and Poglietti. He frequently preferred an articulate, simple contrapuntal style that highlighted clarity. His music is markedly less extravagant and harmonically adventurous than that of Dieterich Buxtehude. However, as a point often overlooked, like Buxtehude, Pachelbel experimented with different instrumental combinations in his chamber music. Legacy All in all, Pachelbel was most famous as a composer for the keyboard. He composed over two hundred pieces specifically for the instrument. Pachelbel was also surprisingly a prolific composer of vocal music. All in all, about a hundred vocal works survive, including 40 or so large-scale works.

Instrumental Duet Harp,Instrumental Duet,Soprano Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1098478 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Classical,Standards,Traditional,Wedding. Score and parts. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #702335. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1098478). Score: 6 pages. Duration: ca. 2:30. The famous Pachelbel Canon arranged for Soprano Sax & Harp.

Large Ensemble Bassoon,Cello,Clarinet,Flute,Low Voice,Medium Voice,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023434 Composed by Theresa Koon. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 14 pages. Theresa Koon #5722325. Published by Theresa Koon (A0.1023434). I Come from Water is a chamber work for Mezzo-soprano, Baritone, Alto Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, Violin, Cello and, briefly, Bass Drum. The piece was inspired by news that the US may be planning to perform missile tests in the Pacific Ocean in the vicinity of the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Scientific research is leading to speculation that these tests could be harmful to water creatures over a large area surrounding the testing sites. In particular, scientists are concerned that the tests may cause animals who orient themselves via sound waves, such as dolphins and whales, to become permanently deaf. The music is intended to evoke impressions of a life in water, beginning with non-verbal communication between fish in streams. Images, sensations and sounds of water are expressed throughout the piece as salmon make their way from streams to rivers to the ocean. Eventually, we hear a sense of quiet communion in the ocean, which is interrupted by three explosions. The water creatures respond with panic, followed by silence. The final measures are intended to express grieving.

C Trumpet,Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1247397 Composed by Philip Goddard. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Patriotic. 30 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #842033. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.1247397). Fallen Soldiers' is actually an adaptation of the 8th (penultimate) movement of the Composer's large organ work 'The Great Wilderness', which is entitled 'Summit Contemplation (On the Loss of a Fellow Climber)'. There came a time when the Composer was feeling particular concern for and empathy with all the troops who were being sent out to fight against threatening tyrannical regimes in other countries and in many cases whose lives were being lost for causes that were based on scanty understanding of the real issues involved - and he thought of the early 20th century French composer Jehan Alain, known particularly for his striking and beautiful organ music, which shares some elements this composer's own works. He got mown down on the battlefield in the Second World War in very touching circumstances, and now this composer felt moved to produce a short commemorative work for that one-time kindred spirit. It was not specifically intended to express any particular emotion, but this music, full of an intense feeling of loss and loneliness, was what came out. It is not the Composer's grief or loneliness, but something deeper in human consciousness that found its way into the composition process.

Instrumental Duet Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Synthesizer - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1002834 Composed by Kyle Vanderburg. Contemporary. Score and parts. 11 pages. NoteForge #5319515. Published by NoteForge (A0.1002834). Crosswinds represents a melding of the traditional woodwind sound of the clarinet with digital live electronic techniques, and the piece explores the potential for this relationship in three parts. To begin the piece, the stage performer breathes through the clarinet, which serves to inform the electronic elements to come. This initial breath is captured by the computer program and is modified and reduplicated to create the sonic tone of a soft wind always present beneath the piece to come. This is the first step in uniting the digital and woodwind elements, as the same breath which animates the clarinet also activates the electronics. From this most fundamental element, the breath becomes a single sustained note from which the computer will generate all of its subsequent tones. The impression is one of a mentor relationship, where the traditional instrument provides the tools and the support for the electronic elements. The disposition is contemplative, though it alternates between a subdued easiness and a playful mystery, as if to introduce the digital aspects to the range and variety of the clarinet’s moods. The rapport between the two is hesitant in the first part: the electronics contributing a subtle reverb as the performer teaches the computer dexterity through a number of broad leaps, hinting at but never fully embracing the main motif. As the theme becomes more self-assured, the digital element now produces its own tones, parroting the clarinet melody to signal its readiness to be an equal partner in the conversation. As the clarinet begins the second part of the piece, the computer now provides a harmonizing undercurrent each time it is invited to do so by the performer. In the third part, the electronics play counterpoint to the skill of the clarinetist, the two elements intricately entwined. From the elemental sound of wind first produced by the performer and perpetuated by the computer, the piece concludes in a celebration of the relationship built between the two, and the main theme is fully expressed as the two take it in variations.Crosswinds is, in many ways, an experience of the history of our music through the relationship between traditional clarinet and modern digital techniques: the common elements they share, the singularity of their own particular strengths, and the beauty that can be experienced when they collaborate.Patch for live electronics available from https://bitbucket.org/kylevanderburg/crosswinds/downloads/

Duration: 4:25 Not difficult, but requires sensitivity & dynamic control. Suitable for recitals, church meditations, or school programs.  Dvořák Background AntonÃn Dvořák (1841 –1904) was, of course, a composer from Czechoslovakia. As a matter of fact, he was among the first Bohemian composers to attain universal recognition. It is important to realize that the late Romantic Nationalist period featured composers who used traditional and folk elements to portray the character of their nation. In particular, we see this in the music of Grieg (Norway), Finland (Sibelius), and Smetana (Bohemia).  Dvořák relied markedly on rhythms and other characteristics of Moravian and Bohemian folk music. Ascent to Fame Dvořák was truly a child musical prodigy on the violin. The premiere performances of his compositions notably occurred in 1872 and 1873. He submitted his First Symphony in particular to a German competition, but it failed to win. Consequently, in 1874 he presented two more symphonies to the Austrian State Prize for Composition. Johannes Brahms was the principal of the jury and was accordingly very impressed. They forthwith awarded the prize to Dvořák in 1874, 1876, and 1877. At this point, Brahms thereupon endorsed Dvořák to the publisher Simrock. Later, the publisher commissioned Dvořák to compose the Slavonic Dances, Op. 46. These became popular overnight and, as a result, Dvořák's worldwide status was launched. International Status Dvořák visited England upon invitation nine times. On each visit, he frequently conducted performances of his own compositions. He conducted concerts of his music, especially in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Eventually, the Prague Conservatory in fact appointed Dvořák as a professor. There, to be sure, he wrote his famous Dumky Trio. United States Consequently, the National Conservatory of Music of America appointed him as director in 1892. As a result, Dvořák composed his two most famous symphonic works: the Symphony No. 9 (From the New World), which spread his name universally, and his Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, one of the most famous of all cello works. Moreover, he wrote his most celebrated American String Quartet during this time. At the same time, because of his growing recognition in Europe and his homesickness for his own country, he left to return to Bohemia in 1895.

Cello,Clarinet,Flute,High Voice,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1111965 Composed by Daniel Burwasser. Chamber,Contemporary. 63 pages. Head and Stem #714143. Published by Head and Stem (A0.1111965). These three poems by Ilsa Gilbert were chosen on the basis of their dramatic imagery and expressivity, and more importantly, their highly “musical†qualities. Traits that I find most attractive in Gilbert’s work. The idea to string these particular poems together was of my own volition, but the specific order in which they appear in the work came at the suggestion of the poet, who also came up with the apt title, TORRENTS. The mood of each song gradually progresses from cynicism to optimism. From the tormented struggle of Wild Beast to the process of aging and acceptance of death in Winter Leaves to renewal and the affirmation of life in The Mediterranean Sea. These themes are universal. TORRENTS evokes an abundance of emotions all derived from the human spirit. For more information, go to: https://www.danielburwasser.com/To contact the composer directly, go to: danielburwasser9@gmail.comYoutube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@danielburwasser60.

The Emotional Lives of Colors (for trumpet, piano, and percussion)

B-Flat Trumpet,Percussion,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1201730 Composed by Brandon Nelson. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. 37 pages. Brandon Nelson #800346. Published by Brandon Nelson (A0.1201730). Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and his theory on how colors impacted mental states was the inspiration for this piece. He was far more gifted with prose than I, so I’ll him explain further:We shall not be surprised to find that [colours’] effects are at all times decided and significant, and that they are immediately associated with the emotions of the mind.Colour, considered as an element of art, may be made subservient to the highest aesthetical needs.General impressions produced by single colours cannot be changed[.] They act specifically and must produce definite, specific states in the living organ. Experience teaches us that particular colours excite particular states of feeling.Goethe goes on to detail these notions in an elaborate, deeply imaginative treatise. Sadly for him, this work was coming out just as the science of optics had begun to give the world an empirical understanding of color, leaving Goethe’s romantic ideas in the margins. But it is those ideas that I find intriguing from a poetic viewpoint, and, in this composition, I shed musical light unto his dramatic descriptions of several different colors.“Yellow-Red†is described as “primordial, impetuous, robust,†to the point of eliciting “extreme excitement†which disturbs and enrages even animals!“Yellow†is portrayed as that being nearest to natural light. It is of “utmost purity and beauty[….] Serene, gay, softly exciting.â€The color “Red-Blue†we are told is “something lively without gladness.â€â€œBlue†is steeped in darkness, a “contradiction between excitement and repose.†It gives one the “impression of cold.†and brings to mind melancholy.
