Instrumental Duet,Piano Cello,Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.971656 Composed by Jeffrey Hoover. 20th Century,Contemporary,Spiritual. Score and parts. 47 pages. Musicart Publications #5719085. Published by Musicart Publications (A0.971656). Set in two movements, the music of Oneness in This World represents two things necessary for humanity to move together: Unity and Joy.In the first movement, the music evolves from tension and musical discord to unity and harmony. While much of the drama is heard through the interaction of the clarinet and cello, the piano provides a key factor throughout the second part of the first movement through foundational chaconne variations. As the harmonic progression repeats, the clarinet and cello become more aligned in their music yet maintaining a sense of individuality. Without unity and informed agreement, a society cannot truly benefit its people. Unity is strongest within diversity, contributing to growth, and moving towards a common goal to benefit all.In the second movement, all three musicians share equally in the production of the state of joy. The varied tone colors of the instruments, shifting meters, and dancing music all provide energy and emotions suggesting joy. Joy is a certainty of the goodness of life, in spite of sorrows or pain or even tragedy. Joy gives us wings to transcend our situation, opens us to our potential, and helps us become who we are to be. Joy comes from faith and belief of value and purpose for our life and its beauty. As with other musical compositions of mine, there are two paintings– a diptych –titled Unity and Joy which I created to visually interpret the music. –Jeffrey HooverThis edition is set to print correct page turns, back-to-back.Jeffrey Hoover's work– music ranging from soloist to symphony orchestra –has received recognition through the prestigious Trieste prize, the SMP/Universal Edition composition award for contemporary music, awards from Mu Phi Epsilon, the Lancaster Fine Arts Festival, the L. Russolo competition, grants, publications fellowships, and more than 25 commissions. He is a member of the ACME roster of Mu Phi Epsilon, recognized for distinguished achievement as a composer. One unique aspect of Hoover’s work is when he combines composition with his paintings, creating synergetic art that intrigues and captivate audiences and performers alike. His paintings are seen in exhibitions and in concerts where his paintings are projected while musicians perform his music. Whether making interdisciplinary works, or traditional stand-alone sonic or visual art, Hoover shapes his work through inner vision and practical experience. Jeffrey Hoover’s background as a performer includes both classical and jazz music, as saxophonist and conductor. His book The Arts and Society: Making New Worlds is published by Kendall Hunt Publishing.Jeffrey Hoover was born on September 11, 1959, in Anderson, Indiana. He holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts (Composition and Interdisciplinary Fine Arts) from Texas Tech University, as well as a M.M. and Bch.Sc. from Ball State University. His career in higher education has included both music faculty and arts administrative appointments. For questions about this music, how he combines his music with his paintings or other inquiries, please visit his website or contact the composer directly:jeffreyhooverart@gmail.comhttps://jeffreyhooverart.wixsite.com/mysite

Instrumental Solo,Oboe d'Amore,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549891 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Romantic Period,Standards,Wedding. Score and individual part. 23 pages. Jmsgu3 #3602937. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549891). Score: 12 pages, piano part: 6 pages, oboe d'amore part: 4 pages. duration: ca. 5'. This is the famous wedding march from Op. 61 composed in 1842 and commonly performed as a recessional march at the end of a wedding. The piece was originally composed for orchestra then arranged for organ and performed by Mendelssohn himself.Mendelssohn: Wedding March Mendelssohn’s Wedding March is so popular that it’s difficult to imagine a wedding without it. It seems like it’s been around for eternity. In any case, it was only 150 years or so ago that the Wedding March came about. It was performed in Potsdam for the first time in 1842, as a piece of Mendelssohn’s music for the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was first used for a wedding in 1858 Mendelssohn Background Felix Mendelssohn (1809 –1847) was, by all means, a German mastermind composer, musician and orchestra conductor of the Romantic period. Consequently, Mendelssohn composed in the usual forms of the time - symphonies, concertos, oratorios, piano music, and chamber music. To summarize, his most famous works include his music for A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Italian Symphony, the Scottish Symphony, The Hebrides Overture, his later Concerto for Violin & Orchestra, and his Octet for Strings. His most well-known piano pieces, by and large, are the Songs Without Words. Artistic Standing Musical tastes change from time to time. Moreover, just such a change occurred in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This plus rampant antisemitism brought a corresponding amount of undue criticism. Fortunately, however, his artistic inventiveness has indeed been critically re-evaluated. As a result, Mendelssohn is once again among the most prevalent composers of the Romantic era. Early Family Life Mendelssohn was, in fact, born into a prominent Jewish family. His grandfather was, notably, the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. Felix was, in fact, raised without religion. At the age of seven, he was all of a sudden baptized as a Reformed Christian. He was, moreover, a child musical prodigy. Nevertheless, his parents did not attempt to exploit his talent. Early Adulthood Mendelssohn was, in general, successful in Germany. He conducted, in particular, a revival of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, specifically with his presentation of the St Matthew Passion in 1829. Felix was truly in demand throughout Europe as a composer, conductor, and soloist. For example, he visited Britain ten times. There, he premiered, namely, many of his major works. His taste in music was. To be sure, inventive and well-crafted yet markedly conservative. This conservatism separated him by all means from more audacious musical colleagues like Liszt, Wagner, and Berlioz. Mendelssohn founded the Leipzig Conservatoire which, to clarify, became a defender of this conservative viewpoint. Mature Adulthood Schumann notably wrote that Mendelssohn was the Mozart of the nineteenth century, the most brilliant musician, the one who most clearly sees through the contradictions of the age and for the first time reconciles them. This observation points to a couple of features in particular that illustrate Mendelssohn's works and his artistic procedure. Musical Features In the first place, his musical style was fixed in his methodical mastery of the style of preceding masters. This being said, he certainly recognized and even developed early romanticism from the music of Beethoven and Weber. Secondly, it indicates that Mendelssohn sought to strengthen his inherited musical legacy rather than to exchange it with new forms and styles or replace it with exotic orchestration. Consequently, he diverged his contemporaries in the romantic period, such as Wagner, Berlioz, and Liszt. Mendelssohn revered Liszt's vir.

Score and parts. 5 pages. Duquesnel Music Publishing #6630965. Published by Duquesnel Music Publishing (A0.774290). Peggy's unique arrangement of this classic hymn combines with J.S. Bach's 2-part Invention # 13 in Am is fresh and inspiring and a new approach to this traditional piece. The solo piano arrangement is suitable for intermediate level pianists and great for church services, memorials concerts and recitals. I've enjoyed playing the music of J.S. Bach since my early years. One day I was studying Bach's Invention #13 and was inspired to combine it with the popular hymn, Praise God From Who All Blessings Flow, also know as the Doxology. Instrumental Duet,Piano Flute,Instrumental Duet,Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1298596 Composed by Geraldine (Denny) Green. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical. 32 pages. Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic #888475. Published by Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic (A0.1298596). ALL PURCHASES COME WITH SCORE AND PARTSWhen I was a young child and I would ask my mother for something she would often, in the midst of all her busy jobs, say to me, “Oh, give me a minuet!â€, meaning jokingly a minute, of course, before she could tend to my wishes.  This meant that I grew up believing that a minuet and a minute meant the same thing and could be equally interchanged. You can then imagine my amazement and amusement at around 13/14 years of age when I discovered through my music studies that a minuet was in fact a type of musical form and dance! Therefore, it went without saying that at some point in my music writing life I just HAD to write my Mum a minuet! So, here is the minuet she so often unwittingly asked me for throughout our lives! She attended the premiere of the Flute, violin and piano arrangement in Bolton, UK, and was highly amused (and not a little chuffed) by the story behind the piece!Naturally, the piece is dedicated to my mother, Margaret (Pearl) Denny, and was finally written in June 2015 for Gary Woolf and the Banda Di Musica in Germany. Its duration is about 7/8 minutes long and it is intended for junior strings. Violins 1 and 2 are of moderate difficulty, while the Violin 3/violas, cellos/basses are simpler. There is a violin solo throughout (moderate difficulty), to be played by the Leader, but is not a concerto-style solo, but rather one that weaves in and out of the texture throughout the piece. The piece is in a minuet and Trio style and is light, tuneful and fun. There are 3 arrangements available:No.1 – School Arrangement: Violins 1, 2 and 3, Cellos 1 and 2No.2 – Standard Arrangement: Violins 1 and 2, violas, cellos, Double bassesNo.3 – Violin, flute and piano.  This arrangement is of a more advanced standard than the string orchestra arrangements and would suit players of approximately grade 7 upwards.Â

Instrument part. 47 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #5969-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.5969-E). The Journey is a twenty-minute cantata extracted from the opera The Dreamers. The opera was commissioned and produced by the Sonoma City Opera in 1996; Antoinette Kuhry, producer; musical direction by John Miner; stage direction by Sanrda Bernhard. The Dreamers captures a formative moment in American history where characters are separated by their cultural and racial differences, and brought together by their dreams and their longing for a new home. The Journey was commissioned by the Oakland East Bay Symphony, Michael Morgan, conductor, and was premiered at the Paramount Theater in Oakland, CA on May 18th, 2001. To set the scene for the excerpt here entitled The Journey: The entire town of Sonoma is gathered at The Collonade Theater to watch an amateur production of Shakespeare's Othello. An unpleasant racial incident occurs which brings the performance to a halt. To smooth thingsover, a sing-a-long is proposed. The song chosen is My Old Kentucky Home by Stephen Foster. After a brief statement of that tune in the orchestra, the entire company enters a dream-state, as six characters from the opera, with commentary by the chorus, sing arias about home. Johnny Rowe, an American soldier stationed in Sonoma, serves as a kind of master-of-ceremonies. Black Sam is a freed slave working as a gambler in Sonoma to earn money to buy his wife out of slavery. Indian Princess Isadora is the last of her tribe. Jim and Mary Eastin have migrated to California from Kentucky. Lizzy Fine is a widow who sings a farewell to her departed husband. The finale of this sequence is an Octet, where all six characters and the men and women of the chorus sing their various texts together, ending with the words from Stephen Foster: Weep no more.

It was composed during a 40-day bus tour around the country as well as at my new apartment in midtown New York City. The complexity and difficulty of the music reflects some of the transitions to the new urban big city life I encountered in New York coming from a more sedate lifestyle in amongst the avocado groves of north San Diego county. I had a hunch that my composing could change direction somewhat during this time of transition and reflect a different character. In anticipation of this new stage, decided to compose one of the more technically difficult ensemble works I have written to date. I pushed the boundaries of my own style and ability in order to compose something unique for piano in this piece. I had in mind a brilliant pianist Soyeon Lee from Korea who inspired the composition with her virtuoso technique, and her unique personality. The musical direction was further directed by one of the strangest music tours I have been on with a cast of characters containing some who did not get along at all and quit the tour, while others got along too well and created a different kind of havoc. With a pianist from the Pacific Rim as one source of inspiration, while the wheels on the strange bus tour kept turning on the American highways, the title Strange Rims captured the many layers I was living and seeing at the time. The Flex Orchestra Series The Flex Orchestra arrangements are hymn settings that adapt to the available instrumentation. These were born from a desire to have beginning players participate in worship by playing side-by-side with more experienced players. So this series can fit whatever players you have. These arrangements are written with a melody part written in treble clef, alto clef and bass clef. The melody part is identical for all instruments with slight variations in register. Each instrument also has an ensemble part. The ensemble part is unique to the specific instrument. The glue that holds it all together is the piano accompaniment. With one or more instruments playing the melody, then you can use any combination of instruments. As long as you have a melody part with the piano accompaniment, you can add any other instrument on their ensemble part. The Flex Series changes with the group of players you have. Play this arrangement as a solo with piano, or any combination of duet, trio, quartet or quintet with piano.
