The Show Must Go On is a song by British rock band Queen, featured as the twelfth and final track on their 1991 album, Innuendo. It is credited to Queen, but written mainly by Brian May. The song chronicles the effort of frontman Freddie Mercury continuing to perform despite approaching the end of his life, although his diagnosis with HIV/AIDS had not yet been made public in spite of ongoing media speculation claiming that he was seriously ill. When the band recorded the song in 1990, Mercury's condition had deteriorated to the point that May had concerns as to whether he was physically capable of singing it. May recalls; I said, 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing.' And he went, 'I'll f***ing do it, darling—vodka down—and went in and killed it. This arrangement is a must for any Brass Band Library wanting a powerful Rock rhytmn driving from start to finish.

I'm very proud and happy with how it turned out, sometimes you get lucky and the sections fall perfectly into place (which is suprising since there are some odd 3 measure phrases in here). Features:1. Beginner friendly. The chords are so accurate to what the sheet music is doing, that you don't even really need to read sheet music to play this!2. Harmonies that take difficulty, style, voice leading, and melody into consideration3. Condensed lead sheet version that fits on 2 pages to avoid a page turn; yet it is packed with details and naunces.4. Beautifully engraved sections that visually make sense on the page.Tips:1. Measures 8-16 I named that chords as if both guitars were taken into consideration. I'm guilty of sometimes saying, Oh it's just a rock song with power chords, but then you look into the details, and the chords are actually quite jazzy.2. Maybe She sang needs a fermata?3. If a song is in B minor and never changes key, fret 1 will never happens! Be in position 2 for this song! That's why I didn't put fingerings in, they would have been as helpful as confusing.4. Maybe it's a given, but I recommend forcing melody notes on to the chord in one way or another. Sometimes I go on spurts of notating many complex chords to account for the melody, other times I just show one chord per measure but kind of assume that you'll make the guitar work more fancy with the melody notes. Maybe this is overthinking the arrangement, but there is great voicings I'm doing that I want to get across, but sometimes I won't do it because the score will get too busy looking. Just food for thought, depends on your agenda I suppose.

This arrangement helped Dewi Griffiths secure the Best Principal Cornet prize and requires a soloist that can either improvise, or capable of playing Thomas Gansch style blues licks as in the original solo, which is also included with the parts. This arrangement begins with a piccolo trumpet duo (also playable on Soprano and Bb Cornet) in a baroque style, then building to a massive 6/8 power ballad entrance, followed by a bluesy solo trumpet feature. More building to a big section requiring the soloist to unleash their inner rock god follows, then back down to a sedate blues where a solo trombonist joins in the antics. The ending is a tricky metric modulation, where the 6/8 turns into a rock 4/4 and brings in the big guns (the bass section) with some hard hitting lines. Feel free to allow your drummer to ad lib. as much of this piece as you dare! Beautifully laid out in A4 size, the score and parts are easy to read and available NOW for digital download. I've always wanted to know what power chords would sound like on a Flute and decided to arrange Paranoid to find out. I am very pleased with the results and hope that you agree. There are two ways that this arrangement can be played that can get two sounds. Playing it as written will give a medieval sound, which is what the MP3 file sounds like. The second option is to add Flute Beatboxing. Whenever a part has Quarter notes jumping 5ths (measure 5 Flute 3) the performer instead of playing normally can use strong Puh and Caa articulations to sound like a drum kit. I have attached a video using this technique to play the super mario bros theme to better describe what I mean by Flute Beatboxing. There is also an optional Jet Whistle in Flutes 1 and 2 in measure 20. Both techniques create a unique sound that accurately reflects the source material as well as giving musicians more expressive capabilities.
